  1. Please add "Out to Sign" in the Lodgements Widget Calcuation, it's important. If you are showing as say 74% on time and you have 10% out to sign, we want to know this so that we know that we are really at 84%. I love that the suspended returns are in the number but we should also have the out to sign, even if it's an added bar.

    So you have On time, out to sign, not lodged, late. So instead of the 3 bars in the image, 4 bars.

  2. When using Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for job management, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain visibility because there’s no audit trail or history log for key actions like:

    • When a job was created or reassigned
    • Who changed the job’s due date or status
    • When a job’s responsibility moved from one team member to another

    This lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to track accountability or performance accurately.

    Why is this so important?
    As a firm, we track job completion and lodgement performance, but without a history log, we can’t see whether a job was reassigned after the due date or…

  3. It would be great to have Payroll Manager for Australia, to be able to see a list of clients who have payroll, reporting on last posted payrun, last filed payrun, last superannuation payment, status of superannuation payment (ie: submitted, approved, rejected, failed, etc). this would save significant time rather than having to open each client file one by one to check this information.

    This is something we’ve heard interest in from other customers as well, so we’re moving it into the Gaining support stage. From here, other users can add their votes and comments, which helps show how many people would find this useful and the different ways it would help them.

    Our product team regularly reviews ideas in this stage alongside other work. While we can’t promise if or when this will be developed, the level of support and detail shared here is an important input into future planning.

  4. XPM Notes - Restore date and time details.

    With the new changes to notes in XPM it now shows an approximate timeframe ie- a month ago, 2 months ago.

    It no longer shows an actual time stamp on the note to know when it was created or when it was edited...

    We use the notes section to record ATO interactions and being able to give them an exact date is much more effective than to say about 2 months ago. Especially when they haven't met their requirements with solving issues.

  5. We would like to have an option for a Tax Return that has been deleted off the system to effectively sit in a recycle bin before it is immediately deleted off. Would also like to suggest having the ability to see a report for any such returns that are deleted off to see who has done it and the date.

  7. To have a "history" tab on a client that would show when someone has made a change to something (an address, a phone number/client details) along with who would have archived a client on the system.

    The history tab would be a great aspect for support hub team members so they can ask that person if there is an issue or to see a date and time that this has happened to then liase with the client.

  8. Having the ability to email a client directly from the 'Search clients' area to avoid opening the client file.

    If you search a client & click on the email in the column, there is a pop up just showing the email address again. This should be interactive so you can click on it & an automatic pop out to a new email opens, using your default program. Outlook in my case.
    If I need to email multiple clients in a row, this method would be faster than opening each client file to automatically email then going back to search again,…

    Hey LInda, thanks for raising this idea with us. Having the option to email a client directly from the client list in XPH is not something we have planned but we have moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can monitor votes and comments. Now all you need to do is share this with friends and colleagues to add their votes and comments!

  9. It's great that XPM now has standard fields for Date of Death, additional email addresses (on the client file) and additional physical addresses, however, we cannot run a report to show those fields.

  10. This may not gain much traction with established partners, but for those of us who are new to Xero and are working to establish a business, the requirement to sign on a client within 60 days is a problem. At one time, the requirement was 90 days but was shortened to 60 in 2017.

    It should, however, not exist at all.
    Note that your closest competitor has no such requirement.

    What management may not realize is that it comes across as a threat from the beginning, which frankly stopped me from signing up for the program for a while. Now…

  11. In XPM when adding time through the clock, you can add the client, the job and the task that you are working on as well as add notes and mark as billable.

    It would be really useful to have a drop down for the job state as well so that this could be updated once you have worked on the job. The ability for quick job state update already exists on the Jobs Overview table so would be good to have here as well from a workflow point of view

  12. There is currently no option in XPM to build a report that shows the GST returns that have not been created yet. Whilst this is possible using the [Client] Tax Return Status field for Financial year end returns, it is not possible for GST returns.

    For practices needing to file 100s of GST returns for various clients each month. Having the ability to see, for a given period, whether any GST filings were missed would be extremely helpful.

    Hi David, we appreciate your idea about GST return tracking in XPM. Being able to create a custom report to view GST returns that haven’t been done yet would be really helpful, especially for practices managing high volumes of returns.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for votes and comments. The more feedback and use cases shared here, the better our product team can understand how valuable this would be.

It would be great to be able to create our own reports using any datas available in the system and not be restricted to the pre-existing one : my need is to mix some information from the payables with information from the third party card but I cannot do that directly in the solution I need to export both and do it in excel.

  14. It would be useful to filter by staff teams when allocating access to a client in Xero.

    We already have the ability to group staff into teams within Xero HQ, and it would speed up assigning access to large groups of staff members if we could use these teams when assigning access to a client in Xero HQ. This could be added to the 'Filter' option.

    This feels like a really practical improvement to the current workflow, and I can see how adding teams as part of the Filter options would make client access management much more efficient 🙌

  15. Please add a field at the top of the client page where you can clearly identify in BOLD RED if the client has a stop work/file on hold action. This is helpful for clients that have overdue fees or if they are clients that we require upfront payment for. This needs to be visible on this page so it can not be missed by anyone that may undertake some work who is not aware.

    Hey Amy, thanks for sharing your feedback and for explaining how an alert or “on hold” option in Xero Practice Manager would help you manage work for clients who owe outstanding fees. We’ve reviewed this idea and are now moving it to the Gaining support status so other partners can vote and add their own use cases. Your comments and votes play an important role in helping our product team understand the impact of ideas like this and how they should be prioritised on our roadmap. We’ll be sure to update this thread if there’s any change to the status of this idea in future.

  16. Including IR4J as a Return Type in report builder - Reposting

    when we have a report that we would want to specify the type of return e.g. ir3, ir4 there does not seem to be the IR4J specifically for when we file a IR4J on its own for members apart of a consolidated group and only require to file their own imputation return.

    It would be great if this could be included as this helps when reporting our internal filing stats.

    Thanks for raising this and outlining how a standalone IR4J return type in reporting would help you track filing activity across your group companies.

    We’re updating the idea status to Gaining support ✨, so others can add their votes and share how this would fit into their own workflows. Right now there aren’t any confirmed plans to introduce this change in Xero Tax, but your feedback – along with future votes and comments – will be really important input when we’re reviewing and prioritising improvements in this area.

  17. Under Collaboration Manager, please add the option to include or exclude completed jobs/quotes from the displayed list and search results.

    This functionality should allow users to easily filter between active and completed items, as well as allocate unallocated jobs/quotes to either open or closed jobs.

    This will improve operational efficiency by eliminating the need to first reopen a completed job merely to allocate an item and then close the job again afterwards.

  18. Public Holiday configuration: There should be a place for admin to set up public holiday for all practice members instead of them having to submit individual timesheets.

    The purpose is to have all necessary data for practice manager to do capacity planning accordingly.

  19. In XERO Tax - when retrieving the EFT reports for monies into Trust. Currently XERO only allows one at a time. If you have 30 or 40 fee from refund returns in one day, you never get the reports in time. Other softwares allow a bulk download that shows (eg - on 20 April 2026) this many deposits were made to your Trust Account and these are the clients they are in relation to. This is one snapshot for one day. It is an impossible function as it stands for big practice.

    Thanks Meschel for raising this. We hear that managing EFT reports individually can be time-consuming.

    The idea of bulk exporting EFT details in one action could help improve efficiency for firms handling larger workloads. This has now been moved to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking demand and share it with our product team.
