  1. The Client Name used to be clear and in the centre of the page before the new update. Now, I forget which client I am in, and it is easy to get it mixed up with the Referral Source.

  2. When we are archiving a client there should be the ability to archive the contacts (if they are not linked to an active client profile). Or at least be able to Archive them from the contacts page https://hq.xero.com/clients/contacts

    Currently the only option is to edit or delete, deleting is not a great option should you need to follow revisit something in the future.

    If you don't delete them, you are then left with the contact appearing in the suggestion list when trying to connect clients to a client profile.

  3. It would be nice if client that need to sign the report were able to be send an electronic copy and are able to sign electronically via the ask function. Instead of needing to use a third-party application. It would greatly assist with record keeping and making sure all the imported items are stored withing one app.

  4. Allow adjustable column widths in the Clients screen (like Excel), especially for the Client Name field. Long entity names are currently truncated, making it difficult to identify clients. Also allow adding additional columns such as ABN and Address. This will significantly improve usability for practices managing large client bases.

    Hi Navnit, appreciate your sharing here. We understand you’re looking for adjustable column widths in client view so you can view important details like longer client names without needing to open each record.

    Having more flexible grid layouts could make it easier to review client information and manage records more efficiently.

  5. With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.

    Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

    Hi Matthew, appreciate you sharing how the ability to export clients' information can supports your workflows, particularly when integrating with external systems like phone or CRM tools.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. With the new layout, some of the fields available in the old reports, like multiple phone numbers — aren’t currently included in exports.   7. This isn't a workpapers-specific solution, but the ability to see the status of workpapers in the clients section of the PartnerHub could have great development opportunities. It would be very useful to give a quick snapshot of the client and if it was also available as a column in the global client view you could filtering by work completed/ in progress/ not yet received. Furthermore, giving developers access to the API for this field would also open up other opportunities.

  8. When using client groups and clicking the Work in Progress Button, there is nothing showing when there is WIP in the group.

    It appears the group name is not pushing through the WIP link to the filter properly.

    Hi Ben, while WIP should be appearing for all the clients in the group our product teams have found an issue for some users where this isn't loading correctly.

    We have intentions to fix this however a couple of other items that they have attention on first, I'll share when work for this gets picked up. Thanks

  10. Make the Verification fields mandatory in individual records if practice has had to register under rhe new AML/CTF obligations. Could be something in the user practice settings that if the practice has registered with Austrac that they switch this on so all individuals are verified when being set up or could just be mandatory for all. Also add 2 more fields to the Verification to meet the AML requirements: AML Client Risk Rating (CRR) – Low Medium or High
    AML CRR Reason – enter the reason you gave the client the above rating

  11. This request is for an additional “Trading As” name (or T/A) field to be added to XERO on “Contact” level. This T/A name must then also appear on the client invoices below the entity Legal Name. This T/A field must also be available separately on Client reporting level.

    Examples of current problems we are experiencing:
    The “Contact name” field is used to populate the name of the entity on the Invoices and various Reporting.

    This "Name field" in most applications or software programs must only contain the entity formal Legal Name. As several of our clients use a "Trading As"…

    Hi Juanita, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand that when you’re managing client records, having a clear way to separate legal names from trading names can be helpful.

    The suggestion here is to add a dedicated Trading As / DBA field to contact records, so this information can be stored separately and be easier to find when managing invoices, statements, and client details.

    We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather more examples from practices that use trading names as part of their day-to-day workflows.


  12. When you have a departing group, you have to now click on the group, select the entity, click on the 3 dots and select Archive.
    This removes the entity from the group. You then have to start again and search the next entity from clients, and repeat the steps. as you cannot select back to take you back to the group.
    In the old xero version. While in the client, you would select a drop down box while in the client and select archive. Then while still in the client, you could click on the Group and select the next…

  13. Please remove the tel: prefix when phone numbers are copied from XPM to be pasted elsewhere. Currently they are formatted to have a "tel:" prefix which is part of the hyperlink format that makes phone numbers clickable, however this creates extra work when one needs to copy and paste the number because after pasting we have to edit it and remove the "tel:" prefix.

    As an admin function we often need to copy and paste the number and would like the "tel:" prefix removed please.

    FYI the email field had a "copy to:" prefix but that has since been removed…

    We understand how frustrating it is to have to remove the tel: prefix each time you want to copy a phone number. Being able to copy just the phone number as well as copy the full link directly from the client record would be a helpful improvement and would make this workflow much smoother.

    Thanks for sharing this idea — I can see why having a field for Trustees’ IRD numbers under Additional Contacts would be helpful when preparing trust tax returns, especially now that all trustees’ IRD numbers are required.

    We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand how many practices would benefit from this and the different workflows involved.

    Currently, in Xero, the branding theme determines the payment terms and payment method for invoices and bills. While this approach works for general branding purposes, it limits flexibility when managing diverse customer or supplier requirements.

    Problem Statement:
    Many businesses have contacts with unique payment arrangements that do not align with a single branding theme. For example:

    Certain customers may require extended payment terms (e.g., 60 days) while others operate on shorter cycles (e.g., 30 days).
    Suppliers may prefer specific payment methods (e.g., EFT, credit card) that differ from the default settings.

    Hi Meehgan thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate having the need to have different payment terms for different contacts. While this is not an existing option in Xero, we are adding your idea to gaining support so that other members from the community are also able to add their comments and vote on this. :)

  16. Please restore the ability to open XPM search results in a new tab using Ctrl + click.

    I regularly use the search button in the top right of XPM to look up client names. While right-clicking still allows links to be opened in a new tab, Ctrl + click no longer works.

    Ctrl + click is a much faster and more natural workflow, especially when moving through multiple clients, so losing this functionality has reduced efficiency. It would be great to have this reinstated.

    Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us 💡 We understand how important quick navigation is when you're working through multiple clients in XPM, and can see why losing Ctrl + click would interrupt a workflow that previously felt faster and more natural.

    Even though right-clicking still provides a way to open links in a new tab, we appreciate that this adds extra steps and slows things down when you're moving between client records regularly. Small changes like this can have a real impact when they're part of an action you rely on throughout the day.

  18. The previous post on this one has been closed for comments, but the resolution isn't complete. The invoices are allegedly now sorting by most recent invoice number first, but it doesn't work when you go over invoice 9999 to 10000 for example, 9999 is at the top and all the 10000's are further down the page (which is significant for weekly invoiced clients).

    Also invoices transfer from current to archived when there is any payment attached to the invoice, even if it is only part paid.

    We have a company called Sample Company Pty Ltd. The shares of that company are held by Share Company Pty Ltd on behalf of Beneficiary Trust. We should be able to put in that Share Company Pty Ltd is a shareholder of Sample Company Pty Ltd but that the distribution flows through to the ultimate shareholder Beneficiary Trust. Right now, we have to put that Sample Company Pty Ltd has a shareholder Beneficiary Trust which is not actually correct. Xero currently has…
