Contacts - Add IBAN in account number and Swift in Routing number
There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

We understand many of our customers are trading internationally. While we haven't been able to deliver a solution as yet, this is still high on our radar.
Right now, depending on the country selected when setting up organisations will have different field options - Sort code in UK, BSB code in AU and Routing number in US. This explains the differences some in the conversation have mentioned. I appreciate it's not a solution but for the time being any extra detail (IBAN or any other banking detail) for the contact could be added as a note to the contacts record that can be looked up before making payments.

Contacts - Export contact group
Very simple fix. Add 'Group' as a column header on CSV export download of contacts. When I download all the contacts, ive no way of knowing which group they are in, or if they are not in a group.

Smart Lists - Add "Country" filtering option
Currently, when filtering smart lists by location you can only add [city, state] tags. It would be nicer to be able to just add country tags, to sort / view contacts by country as opposed to by city.
This would also allow new contacts in that country to automatically be added to the list, vs needing to handle this manually.

Contacts - View recent invoices > report to be filtered by contact
When you go into a customer and click View recent invoices report, currently it shows a list of all their previous invoices, which is clear and easy to read. When you click on the new report version it shows a list of approved sent and paid invoices for all customers, but only for the current month. This is totally useless as you then have to filter it to the customer, and change the date back far enough to show all the invoices. Can you please change this so it is the same as the old report.

Contacts - Cater for direct credit details
The same way a direct debit file is created for Creditors, it would be great if Xero could create a direct credit file for Debtors. We direct credit over 200 debtor accounts weekly. As Xero isnt able, we do it externally and use a bank template. If Xero can creatre a direct debit file, I dont see why it cant create a direct credit file. The only change is the bank ID. Our previous clunky software could do it and banks are able to upload a direct credit file.

API - Update all Contact fields via the API
During the creation process, we should be allowed to update all fields necessary on the Contact record.
Example I have at the moment is one of my customers needs to set their clients details within Xero so they can invoice them correctly. At the moment we can't use the API to set the Website field.

Report for Bills not Assigned to Projects - Also include in Hubdoc
My client has started using Projects which I'm finding not easy to use.
We would like to assign bills directs to projects in Hubdoc.
I also want to be able to give my client a list of bills that haven't been assigned. I can see this in bills to pay but its not printable/ exportable and there is no report that will give me this information.
I would also like to include direct spends from bank feed instead of having to create a bill just so we can see its not assigned

Contacts - Compact view to reduce white space
In the new contact view, everything is spread out, with lots of wasted white space (similar to the bills list without 'compact view' toggled, or the list of repeating bills (which doesn't have the ability to be compact in view). I can deal with the info I need to pick a transaction to open being on complete opposite sides of a widescreen by pulling the contact into a new window and reducing the width of that window until it's readable without excessive twisting of the head (a poor workaround for an ergonomics risk, but it's the only one I could…

Contacts - Share/update contacts between Xero organisations/subscriptions
I own several different businesses that are set up as separate organizations within xero, but they are all in the same industry and there is quite a bit of crossover of contacts between the businesses. As I understand it currently, each business will have its own unique address book, so if I update John Smith's phone number in Company A, it will not update in Company B. This makes no sense to me. There should be a universal contact book where we can select whether or not we want a company to use that universal set of contacts.

Contacts - Ability to view contact payment method (e.g active DD form, payment plan, CC)
It would be great if, when viewing a contact, there was a quick 'sign/flag' to show if that contact has an active Direct Debit form.
Currently you have to go to >Settings >Payment Service >GoCardless >edit >Direct Debit Forms

Contacts - Add a Job Title field
To be add the job title of a primary person and additional person in a contact details.
Xero is not a CRM but to manage the invoicing and bills relationship with contact, it could be great to know the position of the person on the other side.
It could be a great add-on as to know to whom we are addressing our email in the contact company.83 votesHi community, we understand how being able to add a persons job title in contacts would help distinguish and identify within a contact.
Being open, this isn't something we have plans of for the time being. Right now, though not the ideal solution you could possibly use the notes feature in contacts to add detail of the differentials. We know this won't solve the needs for everyone in the idea but may help for some scenarios.

Contacts - Integrate with details registered on the Companies office
Part 1: Integrate with Companies office NZ (or similar) so that when I enter the name of a new contact it looks for the details of the company published on the companies office / NZBN. This could reduce data entry and validate that the name entered is a real company, accepting it wouldn't cover other entities.
Part 2: When a company status changes (e.g. goes into liquidation) you could show Xero users a warning, could do the same for company name & address changes etc..

Hubdoc - Notification when documents are uploaded
When a client uploads receipts, bank statements or other items to Hubdoc via the app or sends them by email, it would be nice to be notified at the end of each day if something was added. The accounting program that our office uses emails general email when items are uploaded into our portal. This is to ensure nothing is missed or overlooked.

Contacts - Activity and transactions browser
I would like to see the specifics of the contacts activity on the main page of the contact. Currently you need to click on each transaction to see where the transaction was allocated. It would be nice to see it all on one page. It would be helpful if it was editable from that page as well. Instead you have to click again to edit the transaction. Currently in Quickbooks you can view/edit from the main client screen. I always appreciate less clicks. :D

Hubdoc - Extract description
Once the file is uploaded to Hubdoc, it effectively becomes a JPEG once at the review screen, this means you can not copy paste or grab contents from within the document and you will have to either open up the PDF on a separate screen or edit it within Xero.
It would be great if the description could also be extracted - OR allow the document to be copied/stay a PDF to be able to copy. This will reduce human errors when entering data. Thank you.

Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:
When a disorganised client send bank statements in as attachments for irregular payments it would be very handy to be able to store those attached to the account in Xero; as close to where I would want to use them as possible.There are supporting documents that relate to an account as a whole - such as an accruals or prepayment schedule that would be great…

Contacts - Add screen scroll bar to allow better view when minimised
It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right.
