  1. Xero has the facility to look up UK addresses by postcode when entering new contacts etc.

    Unfortunately it usually makes a such a mess of the address, I end up editing it all again anyway!

    • UK Postcode lookups can return a Company Name (e.g. if there are multiple companies registered at the same address.) Xero adds this company name again to the address. In our case, that is a duplicate of the Contact name, so we take that out to avoid it appearing twice.

    • UK Postal counties are obsolete and should no longer be used in postal addresses. Royal Mail…

  2. In the Files area, there are some that you do not know of until you opened them, and upon seeing them, it's not needed for the business. You have to close the file, either select the checkbox then delete, or the option button on the right to delete. Can you add a Delete function upon opening the file so we don't have to click close just to delete unwanted files? Thank you!.

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest in improvements to the Files inbox. We are in the process of developing the inbox and improve efficiencies in how you manage and use uploaded files in Xero.

    As part of this work we will be improving the preview of files so you can see this side by side within the files inbox, enabling you quickly select and delete a files without having to open and close the preview. I'll keep you updated of when this is live for you here.

  3. When you look at the PAID invoices it shows years of invoices and would be nice if you could archive previous years. If a person is no longer affiliated with your company and they had previous invoices they cannot be archived but the person can be archived.

    Hi Amna, could you explain your idea a little more? Would this be to send bulk comms to multiple contacts from Xero, or something like being able to set different persons on a contacts record to receive different types of transactions or communications? 

  5. When creating a new contact in Hubdoc for Xero, it would be great if there was an option to add the contact details (address, phone, email, tax ID, bank details, etc) right then. Hubdoc could read the information from the invoice and populate it on the spot rather than my having to remember who I added on the fly, go find the information again, and then manually type it all in myself.

  6. It would be extremely helpful to be able to assign a range of default settings to either individual contacts, or to contact groups, such as:
    - invoice template
    - billing cycle (((would also be great to get variable billing cycles as a feature!))
    - currency

    we have a fair amount of customer hierarchy, which we've been able to somewhat address with contact groups.. but the fundamental lack of configurable options after the group is designated feels hugely wasted.

  7. The email feed on clients account activity needs reinstating. If people send a quote mid communication via email rather than on xero or someone emails in a query about an invoice this is now getting lost rather than recorded on their account!

    PLEASE REINSTATE this was essential for credit control and communication between team members regarding clients!

    Hi there 👋, as you may have received communication of - we made the decision to retire our integration with Mailchimp, MS Outlook, Google Contacts and Hubspot from 10 Sept this year. We know the integration wasn't delivering the experience our customers expected, and retiring meant we could sharpen our focus on integrations that'll provide more value. We don't have any plans for bringing this back.

    If you’d like to continue using an app integration, we recommend you visit the Xero App Store to determine whether apps like Zapier or Make would be a good alternative for your needs, or alternatively visit Xero Developer to find out more about building a custom integration with Xero.

  8. Ability to add client logos in contacts. Use for thumbnails there and in Projects. Would demonstrate partnership with them when used in communications and emails.

  9. At the moment Hubdoc extracts supplier name only which makes it tricky to use for processing sales invoices as the customer has to be manually selected and has no default settings. If Hubdoc could also extract customer name, it would really help with AR processing.

  10. When entering line items in Hubdocs it would be so useful if we could enter the same number of decimal places that are available in Xero. When we split invoices into line items it is very clunky having to make rounding adjustments because we only have 2 decimal places in Hubdocs, yet 4 in Xero.

  12. When a client uploads or emails a file to the Xero files area of their own subscription, it would be helpful if we, as their accountants, could receive a notification to let us know there is a file waiting for us.
    This should be an optional setting, perhaps even with limits (eg notify me for every 5 files uploaded).

  13. I create new contacts all the time, often while creating an invoice. I usually only have a few details on hand to start creating the contact (name, email, phone number). So I flick between windows, copying from one and pasting into Xero's "create new customer" dialogue right there on the invoice edit screen.

    It's the phone number I have the most trouble with. If there are any space characters in the (usually mobile) phone number I have copied - and there pretty much always are spaces when copying from an email or whatever - then nothing will paste into the…

  14. Need a better user management/access experience in HubDoc. Currently the practice user who set up the Hubdoc account needs to invite all other practice users into the client. Would it be possible to merge the Hubdoc access into the Xero HQ access or replicate the HQ access system in HubDoc.

  15. Please can foreign currency be OPTIONAL and turned off?

    Foreign currency has been added our file in error via an invoice from Hubdoc that was uploaded as USD. It has since been corrected to AUD and there are no foreign currency transactions in the ledger.
    BUT - all reports annoyingly come up with all the 'source' columns. We don't want this to accidentally happen again when we are getting invoices from offshore software providers etc.
    We ONLY report in AUD.

  16. Simplified view of outstanding receipts that need to be processed to the accounting software ie numbers reflected in the top tabs.
    Currently it is hard to get a quick view of what needs to be accomplished in hubdoc and what has already been done.

  17. It would be great if in Blue Xero in the Contacts list the "Mobile number" can be displayed when there is no actual phone number, currently you need to open the contact to see the Mobile Number. a bit frustrating.

    We've just released a recent improvement to searching contacts where you can now search a contact by any phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number saved in their contact record.

    While you won't be able to see a contacts mobile number from the screen, you'll be able to search for a contact by a mobile number that's been saved for them.

    We don't have further change planned to add more detail to this screen atm but we'll continue to track the support of the idea here.

  18. Currently Hubdoc only flags an invoice as a duplicate if the supplier, invoice date AND invoice amount exactly match. This means if any of these are adjusted or Hubdoc doesn't pick up the exact correct details, the invoice wouldn't be flagged as a duplicate and could be double booked or worse double paid.

    Hubdoc should flag an invoice as a duplicate if the invoice number is the same too. Yes there are rare scenarios where two suppliers issue an invoice such as '001', but it's much better for this to be flagged as a duplicate and reviewed, than actual duplicate…

  19. I was recently asked by a client how create a formatted PDF list of their contacts in Xero with addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses etc.

    They had been asked for this by their factoring provider.

    I know they can select all contacts and use the option at the top of the screen to export, but that creates a csv file which obviously doesn't have any formatting and runs the risk of it being opened in Excel which then messes up phone numbers etc (we are in the UK where phone numbers start 0 and Excel 'helpfully' removes this when opening…

    Thanks for the extra detail, Ross and apologies I never rounded back on this here. While we also don't have plans for creating a report that includes all the detail from a contacts record atm I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here and we'll continue to track interest in this here. If any plans are made down the line I'll be sure to let you know on the idea here.

  20. I have 19 rental properties with 19 separate AT&T internet bills monthly. There needs to be a method within Hubdoc to automate publishing each receipt to a uniqueTracking Category each month. Right now it is all manual and very time consuming.
