  1. It would be great if there was an extra prompt to confirm when deleting attachments from purchases/sales. Currently you only have to press the 'x' and the document is removed and there is no way to undo this if it is pressed accidently. If it prompted you to accept the delete you could say no and avoid this issue.

  2. On these top level menu layouts, like Invoices, Bills and Contact Activity list we really need to be able to add/remove columns. Eg. to see the net total for each Bill/Invoice, not just the gross amount including VAT.

    We use these menu layouts a lot, and have to copy and paste to Excel when we want to send that data, because there seems to be no export on Xero that can produce a neat one row per invoice layout. The exports produce a massive report that displays every row from every invoice - not much use.

    Appreciate your feedback, Maggie. However it is unlikely that this change would be made across all areas of Xero at once. It would help to get an understanding of the desire for this in each area to share with our product teams.

    We have an existing idea for customising columns in the Invoices list, and one around the ability to view total and tax amount columns in the bills list that I have added your vote to, and I have adjusted your idea here for the customisation of columns in the Contact Activity. If there is any progress for each of these we will update on the respective idea. Thanks

  3. Xero already scans invoices to create drafts, which is a huge time-saver.

    Extending this capability to receipts would add even more value.

    Specifically, if receipts sent to a Xero mailbox could be scanned and automatically matched to the right transaction, it would save significant manual effort, reduce errors, and streamline reconciliation. This small enhancement could have a big impact on efficiency for businesses handling large volumes of receipts.

  4. Please add the ability to enter payment details when posting invoices via Hubdoc.

    At the moment, if an invoice has already been paid (e.g. by cash or a personal card), I have to post it in Hubdoc and then go into Xero to add the payment manually. This is especially common for my café and restaurant clients who pay many invoices in cash, and it creates a lot of extra work.

    Being able to record the payment at the point of upload would save a huge amount of time.

  6. When going into a contact in the web version oif Xero the paid and unpaid invoices/bills are listed in date order with the newest first. This is not the case in the Android App version and it is really annoying having to scroll through (in one case) 200 invoices to get to the most recent.

    Can the App versions please go newest first like the web version..

  7. When merging customers xero currently completes the merge and then displays the profile that has been moved which typically (for me) contains no customer data. Is it possible to instead display the profile that the customer has been merged to which shows all the existing customer data. Usually I am completing a merge and then having to go in and search for the customer name again.

  8. When adding or editing a contact, I always enter their address.

    Xero has this great feature that allows searching for addresses, and that's wonderful!

    ...except it's arbitrarily limited to only search addresses in the country the Xero org is registered in; a US Xero org only offers autocompletion for US addresses, for example.

    In this modern, international, remote-friendly age, the notion of only having domestic clients is a little silly– especially when paying for a Xero tier that supports multiple currencies.

    So: being able to search/autocomplete international addresses when editing or adding contacts would be a great addition.

  9. it would be great if there was a tick box for being to select if a contact wants to be excluded from marketing contact. if there was a tick box, it would be handy to be able to generate a report showing those who you can contact and those who have opted out, and being able to export that data to excel. i know xero is a finance platform rather then a direct crm however it just seems that for small businesses especially this would be a great tool and as xero does generate reports and exports to excel anyway…

  10. Ability: Xero only displaying the unpaid invoice up top under client/contact ----- same as former Xero version - PLEASE change this back it was perfect and it is very much not userfriendly now

    Purpose: quick overview of the account i.e. which invoices are unpaid and what was communicated last

    Current issue: with the new changes all client invoices are displayed on top, this clutters the view and is useless information, the old invoice (old and paid) don't need to be visible on top. The current invoice status is important i.e. what is not paid. It is clutter to display all…

  11. Be able to just export customers to excel not the whole contacts list. If not this then at least have a column so that I can filter out suppliers from the list.

  12. When entering multiple contacts, it would be good to have the option to "save and create new contact" as well as the "Cancel" and "Save and Close" option after entering the information. Currently you have to press Save and Close, go back to Contacts, then select New Contact.

  13. Hi, I will be looking after the credit control activity of the organisation I recently joined. After looking at the portal, I think it would be useful to be able to create alerts for specific schools, for specific dates, reminding me I need to contact them on those days and be able to switch reminders, on or off, with the opportunity to select the dates (ex if invoice not paid by ... the reminders will switch back on automatically on on the date I set up). Do you think this functions can be implemented presuming it would be useful to…

    Thanks for the suggestion, Samantha. There are a lot of different types of alerts and notifications that our customers would like to see Xero develop. 

    When you mention credit control I wanted to highlight Credit limits that can be set for a contact and may be of some use to you here. 

    There is also the ability to set Invoice Reminders for when invoices are overdue and you may want to set up for contacts. 

    We don't have other alerts or warnings planned at this stage but will begin to get a sense of the interest for your idea here. 

  14. Xero has the facility to look up UK addresses by postcode when entering new contacts etc.

    Unfortunately it usually makes a such a mess of the address, I end up editing it all again anyway!

    • UK Postcode lookups can return a Company Name (e.g. if there are multiple companies registered at the same address.) Xero adds this company name again to the address. In our case, that is a duplicate of the Contact name, so we take that out to avoid it appearing twice.

    • UK Postal counties are obsolete and should no longer be used in postal addresses. Royal Mail…

  15. It would be extremely helpful to be able to assign a range of default settings to either individual contacts, or to contact groups, such as:
    - invoice template
    - billing cycle (((would also be great to get variable billing cycles as a feature!))
    - currency

    we have a fair amount of customer hierarchy, which we've been able to somewhat address with contact groups.. but the fundamental lack of configurable options after the group is designated feels hugely wasted.

  16. In the HubDoc there is a default setting with a checkbox always marked (active) for "save configuration".

    A lot of mistakes are made because old text is saved and reused when it shouldn't.

    It's better if there is no text instead of wrong text.

    Therefore the default should be unchecked (off) for this "save configuration" checkbox because it causes a lot of problems when the wrong text is saved to XERO.

  17. From within your contact details or Quote or Invoice - why not have the functionality to communicate to a client via WhatsApp or send the Quote or Invoice via WhatsApp. If you are in the construction industry, acknowledging that not everyone is in construction, the craftsmen you work with only gets to Mail and acceptance of quotes in the evenings. WhatsApp's they respond to easily and quickly ....

  18. Show the email subject line in Xero files.

    It's simple enough to forward emails with invoices to my xero mailbox, but I don't have control over the filename. It would be great if Xero can show the subject line. That way I could change the subject line when I forward the email. It would look like a note on the invoice in Xero Files.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing and supporting this idea. The file name shown in Xero Files is taken from the name on the attachments. As a workaround these could be renamed before the emails are forwarded to Xero or renamed from within Xero files. 

  19. I can email my receipts to Xero, when will Xero be integrating the same sort, file, and account application features that Hubdoc has so that I don't have to use Hubdoc at all?

    Hi Amanda and Sandy, I want to let you know that you can upload your document or invoice directly into Xero Files without using Hubdoc, and you can assign it from there - See more on our article

  20. For some time now, I have been experiencing an issue with contact records in XERO.

    As I understand it, XERO will not allow what it considers to be duplicate contacts based on name alone. For example, if I add a customer called Mr Michael Smith, and then a few months later need to add another customer with exactly the same name, XERO will not allow this because that name already exists.

    As a workaround, I might create the second contact as Mr M Smith. If I then need to add a third customer with the same name, I might use…
