Files - 'Move to' button on the Xero inbox files update
Xero have changed the files section and now there is inbox and then archive. All the previous folders clients have are now in the archive section. In order to file something in a folder they now need to move it to the archive section which as this shows all documents, they then have to find the document again and then tick it and use the move to button to move it to the chosen folder. Xero need to add the move to button to the inbox screen otherwise clients are having to do multiple clicks again to move the documents. This has only been brought in 2 days ago and I have had so many calls from clients expressing their frustration with Xero making simple things more complicated for absolutely no reason! The archive screen is frustrating also as it takes you to the default of all files and this look messy and unorganised when the reality of it is that all the documents are filed neatly into folders. Xero have told me the move to button on the inbox screen is "something they are looking into!" I think its crucial.

ALSO - when we are working from the files folder and attaching them to bill, it would be good after posting the bill for it to default back to the Files screen so we can work on the next bill :(

We create separate folders for VAT quarter ends and move the relevant files there to attch to bills. But that option is disabled once a file is moved to archive, you can only rename or delete files.
So we have had to do the attach to bill in the inbox screen, it goes automatically to archive, where to you cannot tell which folder it has gone to if it has. When trying to highlight several files to move to the correct folder - it does not give an error of you have already moved it to that folder, it simply moves none of the files. This should not be the case and either allow us to attach to bill from within the folders or allow files to be ticked and moved even when it has already been moved. I would also say an a column to be able to see which folder it is under if it has been moved. -

I absolutely hate the new files system in Xero. It's shockingly awful and clearly designed by someone who never has to use it on a daily basis.
You can't just drag and drop a file into the inbox any more, it has to be positioned in the area around existing inbox files - why?
And why are saved files considered to be 'Archived' when they aren't? They are saved files in a folder.
Why can't the files section behave like a files section and have the ability to create sub-folders? For example Bank Statements>Bank>YearThe new Files has gone backwards in functionality not forwards, it looks terrible (the number of files in a folder displays vertically instead of horizontally, to name but one problem with it) and it's an extremely important part of the software to clients, bookkeepers and accountants. Needs somebody who knows what they are doing to redesign and correct the problems and SOON. Why not try asking people who use it every day what they need?
Also, we need a deleted files folder, and I can't understand why there *still* isn't one. I've accidentally deleted the wrong file when the file names are all similar many times. Giving us about 5 seconds to choose to undelete if you don't realise you're deleting the wrong file is not good enough.

Hate, hate, Hate, Hate The New Inbox - It is just yet another step and another separate page to work with the hundreds of documents sent there.
It is NOT at all a case of new or archived. they are either actioned or removed from the inbox or filed in a subfolder.
Why the **** would we want an ***Inbox for the Inbox????***
Who came up with this idea? does anyone actually find it useful??
I seriously hate having to change pages, and waste yet more time with your disgusting "updates" then go back to the other page, and back again.
ArggghhhhhhhhhhhhIf you would like to update the inbox, please, oh please, add***Open in a Separate Tab to Create Bills*****
