AU Tax - Include client phone and mobile number fields as columns in reports
Need to identify clients where the Phone/Mobile field has been populated. Currently reporting and exporting options do not separate the populated Client Phone field into Phone/Mobile etc. There is a compatibility issue with ATO SmartDocs not picking up the mobile phone number if it is in the Client's Phone/Mobile field. We need to move these to Phone/Phone field to fix the issue, but currently there is no way XPM can provide a list or report showing clients where their Phone/Mobile field has been populated.
Hi Petra, appreciate your suggestion here. We understand that having key client details available while reviewing tax reports can help keep your workflow moving.
The suggestion here is to add client phone and mobile number fields as separate columns in tax reports, so you can quickly access contact details without switching between screens.
For now, you can use the Contacts list alongside your report or export your data if you need to combine client details. While this doesn’t provide the same in-report view, it can help streamline your process.
We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather feedback from accountants and tax agents on how this could improve reporting workflows.

Following the implmentation of Practice Hub we are now able to add the mobile number for a client - which is fantastic, however, there is no mobile field in the reporting options. So if a client has a mobile number and we enter that, when we run a report the mobile number does not show as the only field available is phone. Seems to me that there is no point in having mobile as an option if you can't view it on a report. Makes it look like the client has no number. Is this something which could be added in as a field? When I asked support about it, they said "If you need mobile numbers to be reported separately going forward, one option is to create a custom field for mobile and include that in Report Builder, as custom fields can be used in reports in Practice Manager". To me that seems like a double-up and rather inefficient. Your consideration is appreciated.
