Contact - Supplier Account Credit Limits
Ability to show account credit limit in supplier contact.
Purpose: Users can easily know the limit of orders from suppliers.
194 votesThanks so much for all your support and input on this idea, everyone.
We understand how helpful it’d be to have a credit limit field for suppliers in Xero, and how it could help manage cash flow and stay within agreed limits with your key suppliers.
A good workaround shared here, is to use the Notes field in the supplier's contact record to manually track their credit limit. While this doesn't automatically stop you from exceeding the limit, it's a visible reminder for your team. Additionally, regularly running the Aged Payables Summary or Detail report can help you keep an eye on what you owe and when it's due.
We know there’s a desire for this functionality, however we want to be transparent that we don’t have any plans for this in the near term, and will move this to Not in pipeline.
The idea will remain open for votes…

Contacts - Different default email addresses for different transactions in Xero
Ability to allocate different transactions to different email addresses.
Purpose: Because it’ll make users’ workflow easier when they’re dealing with the contacts that have different departments.
751 votesHi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.
Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.
While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.
Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.
We do regularly review all ideas here, and your input is vital. We'll…

Contacts - Send out bulk emails to suppliers and customers
Ability to send bulk emails to both suppliers and customers.
Purpose: Saves more time when businesses need to send emails to all their contacts. Especially when they need to announce specials or price increases.
251 votesHi community, I know it's been sometime since our last update and while we still don't have any plans for building a complete email system within Xero we wanted to share news of a new integration very much centered around needs expressed by some customers, here.
Xero have partnered with Constant Contact to provide our customers a free integration to help small businesses streamline accounting and marketing by keeping customer data connected and automating routine tasks.
With Xero + Constant Contact you'll be able to segment and engage your customers using financial and transactional insights, making it easy to deliver targeted marketing campaigns that drive results. You can also improve cash flow by sending automated invoice reminders and payment follow-ups through Constant Contact’s email campaigns, helping you reduce late payments. Xero customers can get 50% off any Constant Contact plan for 6 months. Terms apply.
If this integration doesn't quite…

Contact - View Repeating Invoice details on Contact record
To make users able to see repeating invoice details from Contact record.
Purpose: To make users jump into active repeating invoices easily, and to minimise the risk of setting up duplicate repeating invoices for the same contact.

Contacts - Allow duplicate contact names
Ability to have duplicate contact names in Xero.
Purpose: It’ll make an easier workflow for users. Because often, they have the same contact name and trading name but different addresses.
187 votesHey community, thank you for your continued interest in this idea.
Wanted to provide an update here as it's been a while since we last spoke to duplicate contacts.
I do understand that, at face value, this seems like a quick fix. However, as the contacts screen interacts with many other parts of Xero, this work can not commence until the modernisation of other, related systems is complete.
Due to this, we do not expect support for duplicate contacts to be delivered in the coming short-term.
In the meantime however, we're keen to continue collecting feedback and votes on this idea, and I will update you here as soon as there's more work to share.

Contacts - Warning if entering contact simliar to existing
Ability to have a notification when there’s a duplicate contact in Xero.
Purpose: To make users easily check contacts that have similar details.

Contacts: Statements - Allow to be sent to Contact Groups
Ability to send statements to contact groups.
Purpose: To make users’ easier to send statements rather than sending it individually.
256 votesHi everyone, it’s great to hear the use our customers find in Contact groups on Xero. We can totally get wanting to enhance the use of contacts and bulk send statements to all members of a group at once.
In lieu of this functionality right now, you could manually filter and select contacts from your list before sending statements.
With sights set on helping our customers collect payments faster, we have a team that is looking at work in the reminders and statements space and sending to contact groups is being explored as part of this. For the time being we'll move this idea to In discovery and I'll keep you looped in on any progress that could help needs here.

Contacts - Permanently delete if no records
Ability to delete contacts who have no related records/activity.
Purpose: Because some contact that has no record shouldn’t be visible in Xero and can just be deleted.
154 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing how we can make managing contacts in Xero more efficient. We understand the need to keep your contact list clean and uncluttered, and how being able to fully remove unused or duplicate contacts would help simplify things.
At this stage, permanent deletion of contacts isn’t in the pipeline. That said, your feedback has been shared with our product team as part of ongoing conversations around improving contact management.
For now, you could create a “Deletion Contact” in Xero and merge any unwanted contacts into it before archiving. It’s a quick way to clean up without having to archive each one separately and minimise clutter.
We appreciate your input and your continued partnership as we work to improve the experience, and we’ll keep you posted if there are any updates.

Contacts - Allocate a contact as a supplier, customer, or both
Ability to make a contact as supplier, customer and both.
Purpose: To make bills cannot accidentally be entered as sales and vice versa
57 votesHi team, we’ve been reading through the feedback on manual contact classification, and it’s clear how valuable this’d be for many of you.
In Xero today, contact types are shaped by transaction history. Bills and invoices determine whether a contact appears as a supplier or customer, which works well in many cases but doesn’t cover every workflow, such as where you use spent or received money transactions and contacts stay unclassified.
While not immediately roadmapped, we understand the needs shared through this idea. It’s on our Product team’s radar for future improvement. For the time being, we’ll keep an eye on the growing interest here, and update you as soon as there’s progress.

Contacts - Automatic Credit Hold/Stop
Ability to automatically put customers/contacts in Xero on credit hold.
Purpose: This is to make staff within the Xero org can’t send the invoice to the customer if they have an overdue payment.
83 votesHey community,
As some of you are aware, you can edit a contact and set a credit limit, and optionally block new invoices when the credit limit is reached in new invoicing.
Understand that a few of you are asking for a feature to put a stop on a contact so they can’t be sent invoices regardless of what their credit limit is, as well as others who'd like to see this implemented on the supplier side.
We'd like to confirm that this is not something we have plans to develop at this time. We're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here 👀
If there's any change we will let you know on the thread. Thanks
