Contacts - Add a Running Total column to the Activity tab
Add a running total column for outstanding invoices/bills in contact activity.

We can see it would be helpful to have Xero automatically calculate the net amount between invoices and bills for the same contact.
We’ve now moved your idea to Gaining Support so other customers can add their vote and share how this would help their workflow too. This helps our product team better understand the level of interest and impact.

Credit control- Add 'Days Overdue' to Contacts
Restore the ability to see the total number of days an invoice is overdue from the client contact page for credit control. It used to say 125 days overdue in red - that has gone so it is now not as easy to decide how firm to be when emailing a client to chase a late invoice. Those days overdue on an email heading get attention fast.

As shared in our last update - our team has been progressing the next phase of work needed to bring this more meaningfully into invoicing.
We know many of you are looking for clearer timing, and while I’m not able to confirm a release date at this stage, I do want to reassure you this remains an active area of work for our product teams.

Contacts - Add customer's invoice payments to Contacts
Please put the customer's payments on the activity page so it is easier to see what payments went to which invoices. Seeing that an invoice is paid isn't enough information if the customer has questions. It would be nice to see WHICH payment is applied to an invoice.

The product team have reviewed this and it's something they would like to explore, though it isn't currently on the roadmap. Files added to contacts - can we please show date against when each file is added to a contact ? Add a column to the attached screen to show Date Added

Contacts | Groups list - View Customer Account Credit Limits
Ability to show customer credit limit on the landing page of a GROUP (In this instance Credit Client)
Purpose - Users can easily see the credit limit along side the contact name and the headers "You Owe" and "They Owe" Providing a snap shot to avoid the need to click into each individual account to check their credit limit.

Contacts - Add a Tracking Category in the Contacts Screen
When setting up a contact, it would be useful to be able to add a new tracking category directly in the contacts screen. If I forget to add a new tracking category to my existing list first and go to add a new contact then the tracking category isn't there. I then need to change menus in order to set up the tracking category and then go back and edit my contact to include it. I think it would be a good feature.

New Invoices - New Contact search address by postcode
As the new invoicing is no longer optional. I believe this issue must be addressed for all customers in the United Kingdom.
When adding a new contact upon invoice creation, allow us to search for the address via postcode like we used to. This could be achieved by postcode search ABOVE Billing Address, then auto-populate the billing address based on the input post code.
Note there were many issues with the search results which must also be addressed (See: https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46289185-contacts-improve-uk-postcode-lookup)
OR alternatively allow us to simply input the full address as one line and YOU automatically digest it and…

Invoices - Ability to show recurring invoices within the Contacts page
Be able to see recurring invoices set up for a client on that client's page. So many times I think to myself "I'm pretty sure I set that up, but did I?" and then I have to go and search in the repeating invoice tab. It would be good to be able to see recurring invoices just on the client page.

Contacts - Add a Title field for Mr, Mrs, Dr, etc.
Please could you add a Title field into the customers name - my invoices show with just the surname on which is very unprofessional.
ie. Mr Smith on the invoice would look much nicer than just Smith !!! This must be a basic thing to do.?? Please consider this as urgent.12 votes -
Contacts - Option to put a Stop/Credit Hold on customer accounts
I Also, when will we get the stop function in Xero? I've been asking Xero for 6 years. I know you can restrict invoices by credit limit but, customers could be well under their limit but overdue in paying. A stop function is critical to any accounting system.

Contacts - Ability to mark suppliers as preferred
A way to mark contacts as " preferred suppliers",( traffic light colours?) and a way to attach a document to this contact such as a hire agreement/ contract/ agreed rates/insurance documents etc.

In terms of contracts, you can currently upload files to a contacts record which is where you could upload any contract, hire agreements, rates etc.

Ability to export and import Notes that are shown in the contact details section as a column in the exported file.
This would allow bulk update and review of notes that have been added across Contacts.

102 votesHi community, we'd like to confirm that enabling phone numbers to be stored against additional people within a contact record is not something we have plans to develop at this time. This may be a function we look to explore in the long-term so we're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here. If there's any change we will let you know on on this idea.

Contacts - View all transactions history & notes from contact record
Ability to go into the contact/client and see all notes under history and notes also the notes that are made under an invoice for the client. So ALL notes are in one place and users don't need to run a report to check a note. The former Xero layout had this. Invoice notes showed up under history and notes for the client in the old Xero layout before July 2023.
39 votesHi team, we appreciate that with different places in which notes can be added within Xero right now, you'd like one place you can go to view all history related to a contact. Though we don't have plans of surfacing the individual transaction history & notes on a Contacts record, you may find the History & notes report useful for getting a wider lens.
You'll find with the report you can filter, search and view history and notes across all areas of Xero.
We are continuing to watch the engagement and support for this idea, and will share if there are any updates.

Contacts - Receive Money option from the New dropdown
The contact card has a drop down box where you can create a NEW invoice/bill etc. Please could RECEIVE MONEY be added to this shortcut?

Xero Accounting app - List contact transactions in Date order, newest first
When going into a contact in the web version oif Xero the paid and unpaid invoices/bills are listed in date order with the newest first. This is not the case in the Android App version and it is really annoying having to scroll through (in one case) 200 invoices to get to the most recent.
Can the App versions please go newest first like the web version..

Contacts Overview | Customer map - showing location pins based on addresses
Being able to see a map with the location pins for each customer and sort them by the various Xero groups, would be invaluable. This would enable us to easily visualise our national/global coverage to help better understand regional product usage. As a business that provides products to public locations, it would also be an efficient way to reference existing installations near to new enquiries for them to reference.
