Hi team, thanks for your feedback here. While we are in the process of releasing a new Manual Journals experience, I want to be open that searching by description has not been incorporated into this work.
We are continuing to keep a track of interest for this here and if any plans are made we'll update you here.
An alternative option would be to run the Journal report, where you can include Description as a column and also filter the report to search text that the description you're looking for contains.

The search function should include searching for items from a manual journal entry. We have many accounts that have investment activity transactions and other transactions that are entered via manual journal entry instead of via bank transactions and it is taking a long time to look through past activity since we cannot search. QuickBooks and other software programs have the "Find" feature and you can search journal entries, etc. Please add!

Please see attached. Search 1 (I search for all the description with "Birch")
then when I sorted them by date it gives me everything....
