History & Notes: Ability for Advisers to search for a change
Please can advisers have a more in depth way to search for a particular change. The history & notes filters need an "edited date range" and a filter to search in a particular area e.g. "Bank", "Bills" Invoices"
e.g. for context:
Scenario:
Bank was fully reconciled after a conversion to Xero and remained so up to the end of November 2025 with reconciliation report printed. i.e. at the beginning of December 2025 the November 2025 bank reconciliation fully balanced and matched to the bank statement.
During January 2026, December 2025 processing was being finalised and it was discovered that the reconciled balance no longer matches as at the end of November 2025.
Checked each month and difference remained exactly the same all the way to January 2024! Look for manual journals, look incorrectly imported bank lines, looked for deleted lines and cannot find the transaction!
So I know the amount, the transaction month and the date range of when the change happened (somewhere between 01/12/2025 - mid January 2026) but I cannot find the change.
Please could some kind of report be considered for scenarios like this. Xero records everything but we need to be able to read that. i.e. a cashbook changes report or a summary of when a change was made or something.

Advisers need a more advanced way to search for changes in the History & Notes section. Adding an “edited date range” filter and the ability to search within specific areas like Bank, Bills, and Invoices would make tracking issues easier. For example, a bank account that was fully reconciled in November 2025 later showed a discrepancy, even though all checks were completed. The difference remained consistent across months, but the exact change could not be identified. A report such as a cashbook changes summary or edit history within a selected period would help users quickly trace and resolve such discrepancies more efficiently.
