Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea and adding your feedback.

We understand why being able to connect Claude across multiple Xero organisations could be helpful, particularly for advisors and bookkeepers who work across several clients or entities. The idea is to allow a single Claude connection to access multiple organisations, removing the need to reconnect or switch between organisations when working across different datasets.

We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this would be useful for your workflow, please add your vote and share more about how you'd use it.

  2. Hi,

Most softwares have included on the GST reconciliation report page a toggle button to switch between cash vs accrual reporting on the GST reconciliation report page which makes it a lot easier for accountants to run the reports on either a cash or accruals basis.

It is very time consuming having to switch it in the financial settings each and everytime and also means that if it does not get switched back to applicable setting if the client lodges a BAS they may inadvertently lodge on the incorrect basis, meaning more time for accounts to identify and correct.

    Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to suggest this, Kimberley.

We understand the request for more flexibility when reviewing the GST Reconciliation report. A Cash or Accrual option on the report could reduce the extra steps involved to change the reporting basis.

We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue collecting feedback and votes. If this would make your GST reviews easier, share your use case with us.

  3. We have been given a set of financial statements for sole traders and farmers but within the reports, the P&L and Balance sheet are showing the lines under each transaction. We would like the ability to remove these lines as it gives a more professional look.

Thanks for getting the conversation started, Brian. An option to remove row lines could help create cleaner financial statements for client-facing reports.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. We'd encourage the community to pipe in and share your thoughts.

  4. When running reports, for the date range within the drop down, have 'last tax year' and 'this tax year' as options. Similar to the this and last financial year.

Makes running reports for dividends, trivial benefits, payroll etc, much faster and better flow of information for accountants and clients.

Should be a simple task for xero and will have a positive impact on all users.

Thanks for sharing your idea on reports to support tax-year reporting periods, not just financial-year as per the organisations financial settings.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  5. Create a report that includes Sign Status. However, when I try to set it up, the only option available in the dropdown is Client Status.

I would like Sign Status to be added as a selectable field in the report filters to make the report more useful and easier to manage.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Anjellyn. We understand the request to filter reports by e-signature status. Having these statuses available as report filters could make it easier to track outstanding signatures across client tax returns without checking each return individually.

We've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would help your workflow, add your vote and let us know how you'd use it.

  6. Account Transactions report - add functionality to group by MONTH so that there is a visible break between the data / transactions shown between (for example) January 2026 and February 2026 (if the report is run for the period 1 January 2026 to 28 February 2026 in this example).

Thanks for sharing, Deon. Appreciate how this would be useful for your business and getting an overview of transactions within a period.

Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too.

We'll keep a track on the interest your idea builds here and share if there is any progress.

  7. Ability to run detailed transaction and other reports translated to another currency.

When you are running a multinational business, the ability to convert all data back to 1 currency for reporting is invaluable. Though the entity may trade in one currency, being able to report in another is also important.

Also, looking at the detailed transactions for analytics is important but difficult when it's in a foreign currency. Having a multicurrency TB for export/import and reconciliations would also be handy.

Hi team, we appreciate all the engagement so far. We understand that when you’re working with multiple currencies, being able to view and present reports in a different currency can make it easier to communicate results.

At the moment, report currency is tied to your organisation’s base currency, which means you can’t switch the presentation currency directly within a report.

For now, these reports and spreadsheet exports can help bridge the gap when you need converted views for reporting. We’re continuing to track interest here and share it with the team.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so others can add their use cases and help us better understand how this feature could add values.

  8. Our board have frequently asked that our management accounts/Profit and loss etc is displayed not in alphabetical order but in order of value. Currently, I manually change the order but this takes far too long.

Hi Liz, thanks for your suggestion. We understand that being able to sort Profit and Loss lines by value could make it easier to highlight key income and expense areas when reviewing reports.

For now, you can use Edit Layout in the Profit and Loss report to manually reorder accounts and customise the report layout.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share your feedback with our teams.

  9. It is unacceptable that two standard financial reports within the same accounting system produce different balances solely because of the system's rounding method. Such inconsistencies create unnecessary complications during reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit processes.

Describing this as a software limitation does not address the underlying issue or its impact on users. Standard financial reports are expected to reconcile with one another, and the Accounts Payable Aging Report should match the Balance Sheet. Even a one-cent discrepancy requires investigation, explanation, and additional manual effort, undermining the reliability and efficiency of the system.

Financial reporting depends on consistency and accuracy. Users…

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this idea and explain the impact it’s having for you.

We understand how important it is for standard financial reports to reconcile, especially when even a small difference creates extra work during reconciliations, reporting, or audit review. We can absolutely see why this matters.

Your idea has now been moved to Gaining support so other customers experiencing the same issue can add their votes and comments. This helps our product team better understand how widespread the impact is.

While we can’t promise any specific changes or timing, please know your feedback has been captured and shared in the right place for visibility.

  10. Suggested improvements to Receivable Invoice Detail - Top Customers report.

The definition of this report is attached. It provides a list of sales invoices and credit notes by contact.

If a customer has an overpayment on their account, the report incorrectly treats this cash payment as a sales credit note and reduces the customer's sales figure by the overpayment. Please can this report be corrected to only include sales invoices and sales credit notes? Thank you.

  11. Hi Xero Team,

We are in the process of registering Xero as our Computerized Books of Accounts with the BIR. In line with this, we would like to share some suggestions that may help Xero meet the BIR requirements.

For report generation, it would be helpful if the footer could include:

    The type of book,

    A timestamp and date,

The name of the person who generated the report, and

    The software version number.

At present, the footer only shows the date and type of report. Adding the generator’s name, exact time, and version number would make the reports more aligned…

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes you would like to see to the headers and footers of your reports. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

Please note Xero operates on a continuous delivery model, which means we're constantly updating and improving our software. Unlike traditional software Xero doesn't have version numbers or release dates so we are unable to provide this information.

  12. Flexibility to select what reports are included in a report pack, e.g., Payroll Employee summary

    Hi Team.
I’m struggling to understand why Xero hasn’t resolved this issue. What technical limitation prevents certain reports from being included in a custom report pack, especially when other reports in the same reporting window are available for selection? The process doesn’t seem particularly complex, so it’s unclear why this remains a problem.

Since the reports are generated individually and not merged, it should be possible to allow users to include whichever reports they need in a custom report pack.

    Given the substantial subscription cost,…

Hi Pieter, thanks for starting the conversation around this. Being able to include additional reports, such as the Payroll Employee Summary, in Management report packs could make it easier to create complete management and client reporting packs without needing to combine documents manually.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If there are other reports you'd like to include in the report packs, let us know which ones would be most valuable for your reporting workflows.

  14. Can you raise an enhancement request for the P&L report to give 2 options- Includes GST and Excludes GST to give an option to the user(similar to the current option of Cash or Accrual)?
If a user selects "Includes GST ", a new line item gets added showing the GST account, else default option is "Excludes GST " meaning no change to the current report.

Hi Ian, thanks for bringing our attention to this. We can see how having account codes displayed in their own column, rather than combined with the account name, could make reporting easier to read and work with.

At the moment, account codes and names are shown together when the option is enabled in reports, and can be split manually after export if needed for further analysis.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular reports or workflows where separate columns would be most useful, we'd love to hear more about them.

  16. Can the transition period for change in financial year date be added to companies that are non UK organisations as well. we have a group of companies that all extended their financial year but i have only been able to use the transition period in UK organisations. Hi Claire, thanks for raising this. We appreciate you sharing the want of having the transition period feature across all the regions while it is only currently available for UK organisations. Your idea is now in Gaining support status, meaning our community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage others who would benefit from this to add their votes and share their use cases to help us understand the broader need.

  17. It would be great to have the option to present all reports in month-by-month format. It is possible with P&L and cash summary reports using the compare to function, but impossible for payroll reports. Thinking this could be really useful for STP finalisations and payroll reconciliations.

Hi Jess, thanks for highlighting this improvement.

We can see how a monthly breakdown (or comparison) within payroll reports could make it easier to review trends, compare payroll costs across reporting periods, and support management reporting.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is a feature you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how a monthly breakdown would support your reporting workflow.

Thanks for sharing this suggestion — we can see how adding “as at time of publish” to the DATE / PERIOD would make it much easier to tell which published spreadsheet is the most up to date when reports look otherwise identical.

We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback from our community. While we can’t make any promises about if or when this might be added, the support and examples shared here help our product team better understand the impact and usefulness of this change 💥

If there are any updates to share, we’ll post them here.

  19. One of the key steps in preparing client financials is to ensure accounts, especially newly added ones, are assigned to the correct report code. I had the favourited on every client in the old navigation for quick access as it's something I need almost every time. It'd like that back.
