Profit & Loss report - Show columns for all tracking options (incl. ones with nil balances)
For the new format of the Profit and loss report, only show the tracking categories that actually have a balance. Therefore do not show with nil balance.
Currently have to adjust the report to remove the relevant columns which is time & $.The old version did this automatically!
69 votesThanks for your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate you sharing how important consistent Profit & Loss formatting is for your workflows.
As noted by some, currently you can export the report to Excel in order to make adjustments outside Xero as needed.
To confirm, currently, if a tracking option doesn't have transactions in the period, there won't be a column for that option and there isn’t a way to show it on the report.
Being open, we don’t have any plans for changing the current behaviour and capabilities of tracking columns within the Profit & Loss report. We value your feedback and will keep this in mind as we evaluate future reporting enhancements.
That said, there are a few comments within the thread that reference the ability to show accounts that have a nil balance - Earlier this year we released an option within multiple reports to enable…

Account Transactions report - Ability to change default columns when drilling into report
Although you can save a custom Account Transactions report as the new default report, Xero still displays the original default Account Transactions columns if you drill down to account activity from Balance Sheet or Income Statement.
This currently requires re-adjusting the column settings every time.80 votesThanks for signalling your interest and sharing with us through this idea, team.
We understand why you'd like a setting for defaults when you drill down through the Account Transactions report. This is something our reporting product team have taken a closer look at, however the solution isn't a simple change and we want to be upfront that at this stage we don't have any plans for. We will share if there are any updates here.

Inventory | Reports - Report that lists item sales and customer name and email address
We need to be able to create a report that lists inventory item sales and includes the customer name AND other customer contact information such as email address or phone number.
There have been occasions where I've needed to contact a large group of customers that have purchased a product from me due to a misprint in a book or an update to a title. At present, the only way I can do this is to export my inventory report and add the contacts manually. Xero Support Specialist - Daniel has confirmed this.
6 votesHi team, rounding back to the idea here we want to be open that this isn't a report that we have any plans for developing at this time.
That said, there is a feature in Xero today that may help you achieve what you're in need of - Smart Lists
With smart lists you can set criteria for items that customers have or haven't purchased from you within a period of time. You can either have this compare across all items or run smart lists for specific items. Search results can then be exported from Xero if you'd like to do more with them. Thanks

Reporting - Filter Inventory reports by Tracking
Please add ability to filter inventory reports by tracking codes, so you can see quality purchased and sold by tracking code.
37 votesHi team, being upfront here - though we appreciate the interest in adding tracking to Inventory reports here this isn't something we have any plans for in the short term.
As shared in my last update, we'd recommend the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports which can be grouped and filtered by Item and Tracking and enable you to get a view of the quantities purchased and sold by category 🙂

Supplier details report to include e-mail addresses, bank details, terms, e-mail addresses
Additional report: Supplier report to include e-mail addresses, supplier address, bank details, terms,
7 votesHi everyone, not seeing a lot of interest in this idea overtime and with no plans in the roadmap we will update this idea to Not in pipeline.
While we appreciate why users would like a report containing all these details, this isn't something we have plans to develop.
As previously suggested it's possible to export your list of suppliers from contacts that includes email and bank details.
In relation to spend within a period, you could run the Payable Invoice Details report which can be grouped by Contact and run for a period to view the items purchased and the accounts these were coded to.
It may also be worth noting that Email can be included as a column when running the Aged Payables Detail or Summary reports.

Xero Adviser Financials - Farming | have multiple P & L's for different farms/orchards in group
For large farms/orchards or multiple businesses in the group, needing a P & L each for each Farm and Orchard. Then a combined statement P & L bringing all the totals together with the group overhead expenses. Currently have to do separate custom reports in Xero then paste in, would be good to have it all formated in one spot not doing multiple reports and copying and pasting. Currently using another accounting software provider to do the financials and only using Xero to collect the date, would be good to have it all in one spot
1 voteHi Tracey, appreciate it's been sometime since you initially raised your idea here. Not getting any community support this will soon be removed from the forums. However, taking a read through it may be worth looking into Tracking to see if this feature could be useful to track expenses for each orchard/farm. The P&L could then be set up to provide columns of the expenses and revenue for each orchard comparably. Thanks

Reporting - File Attachment Report
Ability to show attached documents in Reporting.
Purpose: To provide clients to see the list of transactions which also show the attachment for each transaction.
297 votesHey everyone, thanks for your feedback on having the ability to run a File Attachment report in Xero.
We know it's a bit of a manual process right now, but to confirm there are currently some places within Xero that'll help provide a view of the files attached to transactions, such as the account transactions page in the bank reconciliation screen, or the list pages like on Invoices or Bills.
Though we really appreciate you highlighting how this feature would be useful to you, we want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for building a report of this nature right now.
Though the idea has been updated to Not in pipeline it will remain open for votes. If there are any changes that change this state we'll make sure to share with you all, here.

Profit and Loss report - Detailed Profit and Loss to show all transactions
To show all expenses in the profit and loss report.
Purpose: To make it easier for a user to see all the expenses in the report rather than having to individually open each expense
104 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing how a detailed Profit and Loss report could support your workflow.
Atm, the Account Transactions report can be run grouped and filtered by Account, which could then be exported to Excel for further sorting and analysis. While we appreciate it takes a few steps, it can give you the transaction-level detail you’re after.
Alternatively, clicking on any figure in the Profit and Loss report will take you directly to the corresponding Account Transactions report, showing the individual transactions that make up that total.
Our product team has moved this idea to Not in pipeline, meaning it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap. However, the idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to monitor community interest as we plan for the future.

Reporting: Customer Payment Performance - payment date and number of days late
Ability to generate a report where users’ can view contact payment activity
Purpose: Users’ can easily see which customer has good and bad credit performance, and manage customer relationships & debt.
351 votesHi everyone, thanks so much for sharing your comments and support for this idea. We really get why you'd like a central report, so you can check each customer's payment history just to see who's paying late.
Currently as mentioned in the discussion here, you can see a customer's average days to pay on their individual contact record, but we know this isn't the same as having a single report for all your customers.
While we can see there's a lot of interest in this, it's not on our current roadmap for development. Community members will still be able to vote - So we'll continue to keep a close eye here and will let you know if anything changes.

Reporting: Sales Report - Track sales by sales person
Report that shows the total sales made by each sales person in an organisation
Purpose: Ease of being able to compare Sales reps stats across the organisation and/or overtime
13 votesHi team, not getting a lot of traction overtime we will soon remove this idea from the platform.
As mentioned in our last update while we don't have a direct feature for reporting by sales person, there is a means to use one of your tracking categories to monitor and report by sales people in your organisation.
- Create a tracking category called something like 'Sales Rep', and create category options within the category for each of your sales staff.
- When a sales invoice or quote is created, you can include the staff member's name in the staff member (Tracking) field on the invoice/quote.
- You can then use the Tracking reports to see the sales that relate to each 'Sales Rep' and calculate commission manually outside of Xero.
Alternatively, we'd recommend exploring our Xero app store to find a solution that can offer this and more functionality to track and report…
- Don't see your idea?
