  1. In the old P&L reports there was an option to compare jobs(tracking options) for a selected period. There was an option to filter the exact period (eg 1 month or 6 months) and it also displayed the line items relevant to the job for that month (eg individual COGS lines) It was used to compare Job COGS to a Project Management program used by the business. The new P&L has very limited features particularly relating to filtering. The only option we see now is hours of opening each job, line by line (as it shows all the jobs with no way…

  2. Include an extra tab that summarises the totals for the Tax Rates including the cents.

This will eliminate the need to scroll through all the detail to code the journal/payment.

Hi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was originally raised and we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

Xero's Activity Statement report today has two tabs - Summary and Transactions.

The Summary tab summarises the Tax Rates totals of all transactions. This shows a round number without cents in line with ATO. Transactions tab includes all transactions associated with the Activity Statement period.

You can find more detail about how Xero populates the Activity Statement on Xero Central.

  3. When notes run over two pages - fix formatting so that if a note runs over two pages, it automatically creates a page break so that it appears together.

I understand there are already page breaks, but it is diffcult to know as each client is different what notes are requried and and such you need to export to PDF many, many times, before the formatting is correct.

Thanks for engaging and sharing details of where things could be more efficient for you when working with Xero, everyone. We believe a recent change we've released in reports should solve the pain in formatting for you, here. We've released a new in product PDF Preview, so when you're editing the layout of your reports you'll be able to update the preview and see any changes you've made to your report as it will appear when printed.

While not completely automated, this means you no longer have to export to PDF time and time again. 😊

  4. Recommendation is to add graphs as a report on Xero. Clients can see their turnover an example over a few months which can be sent to them direct from Xero !

Hi everyone, thanks for your support and sharing on this idea. As some may have come across Xero now has Analytics.

Analytics enables all Business edition orgs (excluding Simple plan) to explore and customise visualisations and dashboards of the organisations key financial data, which can then be shared via link or export with colleagues or clients.

You can access these features via the navigation in your Xero homepage through the 'Reporting' tab.

  5. Within the debtors and creditors reports (either detailed or summary) the ability to show balances as of todays date when working on client's system up to 9 months later, would be handy to see which debtors and creditors are still outstanding.
I.e. client has £100k debtors as at their year end 31/3/22, but when we run report on say 31/7/22, how many of that £100k is still outstanding? To have a toggle to the balance at the report date (31/3/22) or the current date would help,

    Hi everyone, thanks for showing your interest here. With the newer Aged Detail reports, you can achieve this by;

    1. Setting the date of the report to the date you want to include payments up to
    2. Click Filter
    3. Set an Invoice Date filter as 'any' - 'invoices raised up to date'

If this is something you'll commonly run you may want to save the report as custom so you can easily open the report anytime. You'll just want to remember to adjust the filter for the Invoice Date. 🙂

  6. I would like to be able to run a report that simply has overdue invoices, name, phone number, email. Ideally sorted by sales. Similar to the list I get when I am doing Statements but with a phone number in it.

Hi team, as an update here we have now released a new Tracking Summary report.

You're able to include the new report in Management reports, and can drill down through the amounts shown in your reports.

If you use multi currency you'll see an icon in rows where transactions have been recorded in foreign currency and can click this to view the Exchange rate details.

  9. For retail Shops Sales.
To put in Daily Sales. Of each stores. As there no function for that in Xero. Only can key in As Invoice

  10. There is no options to insert automatic date formatting into the reports at the client level. When the "current date" insert field doesn't work you have to manually enter the date all the time. It would be easier to be able to insert "current date" field.

Hi team, happy to return to confirm that this has now been completely rolled out.

Report field that have been added and run at the client level are no longer editable, so it'll stay connected and continue to automatically update.

We really appreciate your support and sharing with us about this need in the idea here. Thanks! 😁

  11. To enable VAT to be shown on Account Transaction Reports for BANK ACCOUNTS
    .
When reconciling the VAT to the VAT Reports, it is necessary to pick up the VAT from each type of transaction. We can pick up some of the outputs from the Sales Day Book (Receivables Invoice Detail) and some of the Inputs from the Purchase Day Book (Payable Invoice Detail) but what of the VAT which is dealt with straight from the Bank Account with no related Invoice / Bill.

VAT Inspectors require a clear audit trail and although the VAT Reporting itself shows each transaction,…

Hi team, we wanted to return and provide a further update to the idea here understanding it's still getting some attention. As mentioned in my last post we introduced a common format('Account Transactions with tax rates') within the General Ledger Details report that provides a more direct overview of the tax entered for all transactions in your organisation. It includes all transactions that have a tax implication to the ledger regardless of where they came from.

To provide a bit more on how tax treatment is shown and how Xero works - Xero automatically splits transactions to record the tax element of a transaction based on the tax rate selected on lines of your transactions, this saves you time having to record the apportionment in separate lines.

Bank transactions that are shown in reports are the amounts that have been received in your actual bank account and there fore they…

Hi team, while not completely obvious this is already possible from Xero HQ.

In Xero HQ, when opening a report template there is an Options button which contains Publishing defaults where you can choose to automatically include or exclude Contents page and Cover page.

  14. Now that we can add equations, I'd like to see Xero add non-financial data for use in calculations. Specifically, I'd like to add a number that changes each month (number of clients). This will allow me to calculate the revenue per client. I would also like to add the number of clients lost and clients gained so I can calculate the churn rate and customer lifetime value (important to use in making decisions on marketing spend).

Hi community, coming back across this idea we'd like to provide an update as the ability to input non-financial data is available through our new Xero Analytics External Data tool. ☺️

When set up this data can then be used in custom metric calculations, from the Business Health Scorecard section. You can also visualise this non-financial data on your Analytics Dashboard.

  15. The Trust - Annual Accounts Xero SPFR template for trusts > Notes to the Financial Statements > 1. Reporting Entity states "Legal or Trading Name is a trust established by a trust deed dated [insert field: trust deed date], and subject to the Trustees Act 1956." this is incorrect as the Trusts Act 2019 passed on 30 July 2019 has replaced the Trustee Act 1956. Xero have advised "While the team is aware the templates may need updating given current focus being on the expiration of old reports they do not have the capacity to give it a priority at…

  16. I would like to request that a report be designed where you can determine which purchase orders contain the "quantity on order" on a specific code. At the moment the only report you can pull is one where it shows which bills and invoices contain that code.

We work with thousands of products, and we need to find a way to determine which purchase orders have certain codes. There should be an option to pull a report based on the item code, showing what is on order (including the PO number) as well as the bills and invoices.

    This will…

Hi community, since this idea was raised we have developed Xero reports - You'll now find a common format option to the left side panel within the Payable Invoice Detail report to view All purchase order details'

The report includes the Item Code column by default, and you can also set Grouping/Summarising to Group by Item Code to group items together.

Additionally you could Filter the report, for example by Status, to only view Current orders.

  17. To have a report for NET Sales for a month. Currently there is a report that only shows what's payable with VAT (not all sales are vatable) so, when trying to reconcile with the in-house ordering program it becomes a whole big xcel spreadsheet exercise...... takes to much time. the report also includes Prepayments which are not goods sold, but money transactions in advance

Hi everyone, as of today the ability to show nil(zero) balance accounts in reports is live to all users!

    To confirm, there are 2 ways to turn this on. Either through a blanket selection in the Report preferences, or via a toggle on and off option within the 'More' menu of the following reports;

    • Balance Sheet
    • Profit & Loss (Income Statement)
    • Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method
    • Trial Balance
    • Cash Summary
    • Movements in Equity
    • Blank report
    • And, Report templates

As we close out this idea, we want to say a big thank you to everyone that's shared their interest in this with us overtime.

  19. The ability to run a date range in a Trial Balance report.

Purpose: Having more flexibility when running the report by having the date range function.

Hi team, happy to come back to share that this is now live to all organisations!

You'll find this as a new report in your Reports Centre called 'Trial Balance by Date Range' under the Taxes and balances section 😊

Along with common date options, you'll be able to set and run the report for a custom date range to suit your needs.

Thanks again for all the engagement and interest we've received from you all in this through Xero Product Ideas.
