Profit&Loss New-Report in multi-currency
Ability to run the profit and loss new in a currency other than the organisations base currency
36 votesHi everyone, thanks for your contributions to the idea and to those who jumped in to help test and play with the multi currency before the full release.
Today I can confirm we've released the ability to run the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Budget Variance reports in other currencies an org has been using to all users. If you're using multi-currency in your org you'll find this extra option in each of these reports settings. 😁

Reporting - Include journal ID
Include the unique transaction ID (from the Journal Report) on other reports including Account Transactions / General Ledger reports / Project reports / Inventory Item Details report.
Purpose: So we can easily see which transactions have gone through since the last month end / close, as the transaction ID's are unique and incremental. We cannot rely on the dates of transactions as invoices will come in with old dates which will appear like they were posted in a previous month, but are a new transaction. I believe having the transaction ID's on reports will be a significant improvement for the…
39 votesThank you all for your support and feedback to the idea here. We now have the new General Ledger Detail report that includes the option to add Journal ID as a column in the report live to you all!
Within the report itself you'll be able to rearrange columns to drag and drop this where you'd like it to sit in your report, and once you have set up how you like save as a Custom report to access this format whenever you need. 😁

Reporting - Add a column for contacts' phone numbers
I would like to be able to run a report that simply has overdue invoices, name, phone number, email. Ideally sorted by sales. Similar to the list I get when I am doing Statements but with a phone number in it.
4 votesHi team, apologies we've not updated the idea here sooner. With the Aged Receivables Summary report you can add a column for phone number, and you'll also find a common format from the left panel called 'customer credit limits' which show a list of limits and available credit by customer.

General Ledger Reports | Excel export - Improve applied formatting
Hello
Would it be possible to have the old v1 General Ledger report in blue Xero that was recently replaced with a new General Ledger Summary and General Ledger Detail report still available to be used.
The new versions a good and can be formatted to look close to the old report but the old report exported to Excel really well with gridlines still showing and reasonable column and row sizes so large amounts of data can be viewed at once.
Many Thanks
5 votesWe've just released the change! 😁 As per my last update - you should now find the report easier to read and work with with updates to some of the sizing of fonts, consistency in the format of cells, and overall reduced zooming of the reports when you export to Excel. Thanks again, for your support in helping us make reports better for you.

Accounts transactions report - Set default for archived accounts
The show archived accounts checkbox is unchecjed in the accounts transaction report as default, or able to be unchecked. Currently it is ticked and needs to be unchecked every time you go into the report.
3 votesHi Vanessa, next time you open the report and uncheck this option you can save the report as Custom, then choose to make this the default. That way the box will remain unchecked each time you go to it in the future 🙂

Reporting - Detailed Tracking Summary with Notes
Please bring back pre-July 2023 changes tracking summary (detailed) with Notes 3 Codes, I rely heavily on it.
2 votesHi team, as an update here we have now released a new Tracking Summary report.
You're able to include the new report in Management reports, and can drill down through the amounts shown in your reports.
If you use multi currency you'll see an icon in rows where transactions have been recorded in foreign currency and can click this to view the Exchange rate details.

Reports - Delete custom reports
We need the ability to delete a custom report. Many times a custom report is necessary for a period of time then no longer needed. I see no way to delete it. That would be VERY helpful.
2 votesHi Suzette and Tristan, this is already possible 🙂. A user with the Advisor role in an organisation can select to delete a Custom, Drafts, Published or Archived report from the relevant tab in the Report Centre.

Account Transaction Report - Show related accounts or split amounts in account transactions report
It would be great to be have the option of a "related account" or "split" in the Account Transactions Report, so that you can see the other half of the transaction (opposing debit or credit) without having to click on the transaction to view the full detail.
1 voteHey Kate - thanks for sharing this suggestion!
You can select 'Related Account' from the Columns drop down in the Account Transactions report to include this information.
I've attached a screenshot as an example 😊

Profit and Loss report - Include account codes
Include account codes on profit and loss and balance sheet new reports, the same as you can with the old reports.
22 votesHi everyone, sorry we've not rounded into the idea here sooner! We've made some updates to the Profit & Loss as well as Balance Sheet reports where you'll find you now have options to select More and show Account code 🙂

Reporting - Report Page Numbering (non Partner)
Exported reports should include page numbering (ie: Page 4 of 5). This was part of the old style reports but seems to have been overlooked in the New Format reports.
19 votesHey community, thanks to everyone that shared their feedback on this idea! This is now live 🎉
This week we’ve released an update to reporting, so you’ll now see a page number when exporting any report to a .pdf. Previously, it was only possible to add page number to Advisor reports.
I’ve attached a screenshot with an example of this in action, but for more information, check out our Export and print a report Xero Central article. -
Account Transactions Report - Show VAT for Bank Accounts
To enable VAT to be shown on Account Transaction Reports for BANK ACCOUNTS
.
When reconciling the VAT to the VAT Reports, it is necessary to pick up the VAT from each type of transaction. We can pick up some of the outputs from the Sales Day Book (Receivables Invoice Detail) and some of the Inputs from the Purchase Day Book (Payable Invoice Detail) but what of the VAT which is dealt with straight from the Bank Account with no related Invoice / Bill.VAT Inspectors require a clear audit trail and although the VAT Reporting itself shows each transaction,…
7 votesHi team, we wanted to return and provide a further update to the idea here understanding it's still getting some attention. As mentioned in my last post we introduced a common format('Account Transactions with tax rates') within the General Ledger Details report that provides a more direct overview of the tax entered for all transactions in your organisation. It includes all transactions that have a tax implication to the ledger regardless of where they came from.
To provide a bit more on how tax treatment is shown and how Xero works - Xero automatically splits transactions to record the tax element of a transaction based on the tax rate selected on lines of your transactions, this saves you time having to record the apportionment in separate lines.
Bank transactions that are shown in reports are the amounts that have been received in your actual bank account and there fore they…

Budget Variance Report- Tracking categories in edit layout
Regarding the budget variance report, I wish to be able to add a column and select both tracking categories i.e. by program and session in "edit layout". Our goal is to produce a report which we can see the actual v budget of each program by session i.e. Columns as follows; Budget 'Program' Session 1, Actual 'Program' Session 1, Budget 'Program' Session 2, Actual 'Program' Session 2, Budget 'Program' Session 3, Actual 'Program' Session 3.
If you create a new budget variance report, you can initially filter by both tracking codes. However, if you choose to "edit layout" and add…
13 votesHey Community 👋
Earlier this year we rolled a change to our budget variance report, that allows you to select multiple tracking categories when adding a new column in the Edit Layout mode.
I've attached a screenshot of where these tracking categories can be found, but for more info, check out our Budget Variance article on Xero Central!

New Customer Invoice Report doesn't have the original currency
The new report that replaces Customer Invoice Report called Receivable Invoice Summary, is missing a very important function, the ability to report in the currency that it was invoiced in. The report only shows the converted FX amount in AUD.
7 votesHi community 👋, our Reporting teams been making a lot of improvements to the newer versions of reports to enhance for the 2features we know customers value most in the older versions.
Recently, they released an improvements to both the Receivable and Payable Invoice Summary and Detail reports so you can now add currency columns to view invoices in the original currency they were invoiced.
If you prefer this view, once you've added the columns to your reports you can save as Custom to make this easily accessible any time. 😁

Aged Payable/Receivable report - Foreign currency data as a footer in new report format
It would be good if we could add the foreign exchange rates to the bottom of the Aged Payables and Aged Receivables report in the new report format like it is present in the old format.
18 votesHey community 👋 thanks for supporting this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!
We’ve added a new currency icon which displays next to figures on the Aged Receivable and Aged Payable reports, to indicate that they include revalued foreign currency amounts. Clicking the icon displays a popover with the exchange rate information. It also includes a hyperlink to the full exchange rate note at the foot of the report 🎉
The exchange rate note will display by default, but we’ve heard from some customers that they want the ability to hide the disclosure. We’ve added this option under the More button. Hiding the disclosure this way will also remove it from all exported versions of the report. The disclosure can be re-added to the report later if desired.

Reporting - Duplicate Supplier Bills
Xero will alert if there you are posting a duplicate manual bill but not if the bills are imported. Being able to run a report to show any duplicated supplier invoices that have slipped through the net would be amazing.
2 votesThanks for confirming, Kayleigh 🙂 In this case you should find the Payable Invoice Summary report which you could either Group or Filter for Reference 'contains'. This way you should be able to scroll through your invoice within the date range and quickly pick up where there is more than one bill entered wit the same reference.
I've attached an image from our demo co. for reference on filtering

Account Transactions report - Filter by Account type
When producing an Account Transactions report, it would be helpful if we were able to filter by type (e.g. only P&L items, or only Balance Sheet items, or codes within a certain/custom range). At present, we have to select or deselect on sometimes a rather long list of accounts.
9 votesThis is possible with filters in the newer version of the Account transactions report!
You'll see Account Type as an option from Filters through which you can select which ones you'd like to make visible in your report.
You can even go a step further and group by Account Type if that's a better view for you, too.😁

GL report - Include tracking categories
General ledger reports include tracking categories
5 votesHi team, as previously noted although not in the General Ledger specifically it is possible to get this information running the Account Transactions report in Xero, this can then be exported if you'd like to make use outside of Xero.
We'll mark this idea delivered with the option above, if there's particular reason you need this detail in the General Ledger welcome to add this idea back in the forums and please detail your needs to be considered.

Reports - Ability to sort new general ledger detail report by account code
in previous general ledger summary report you were bale to sort the general ledger by account code so the profit and loss and balance sheet items were grouped together in the excel report. Please can you implement this feature to the new general ledger detail report
1 voteHey Matthew, thanks for sharing this idea - this is actually already possible in the General Ledger detail report!
From the 'Grouping/Summarising' drop down menu, you can select 'Group by Account Code and Name' to organise the transactions by Account Code.
I've also included a screenshot of where to find this option 😊

Default dates in reports
With the old reports we were able to set the report dates and then save the link. For example for the 2022 year I have the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Journal report, Accounts receivable etc with the default date 01/07/2021-30/06/2022. I have saved these links into a folder on my browser and then whenever I open up the report to whichever client file I am in in automatically defaults to this date. Is there any way the new reports can default to an annual date so that we don't have to keep refreshing the date every time…
2 votesHi Ineke, this is possible in the newer versions of reports. Once you have the report set up as you like you can save as Custom.
There are both common date formats such as Last Month, This year etc, or you can set a custom date range.
Once you've saved the custom report, you can also make this more readily available by favoriting it. 🙂
