Bank Rule - Part pay existing bill (like the split function)
Ability to set up a bank rule to pay off an existing bill that is paid in monthly instalments. Currently have to manually allocate the monthly payment to a bill using the match and split function but it would be useful if a rule could be set up for this.

Bank Rec | Coding bank fees - Tab through fields
When reconciling an item that comprises an invoice plus a bank fees adjustment, it would be great to be able to use TAB to select the contact, account etc when completing the adjustment part of the transaction, like you can when coding literally anything else. Almost every time I go to code the bank fees adjustment, I type in the contact, hit tab, belatedly notice that nothing has been selected, face palm myself, then have to go back, type the contact in again, hit RETURN and then TAB, for both the contact and for the account type. When creating any…

Chart of accounts - Ability to set billable expense based on account
The ability to automate billable expense assignment by GL code. If you code to a certain GL code you want it assigned automatically as a billable expense for a certain customer. This helps with intercompany on-charges.
4 votesInteresting way of considering how this feature could work, Theresa.
It'd be good to see if others in the community would find this workflow useful to them as well. We'll keep an eye on the support for this here.

Homepage - One click bank refresh
On the dashboard and/or Accounting drop-down? I find that I have to manually refresh my Chase accounts daily to get up to date.
13 votes✨ Thanks for the suggestion – we love hearing how we could make bank feeds easier to manage.
Right now we’re not planning a single “refresh all bank feeds” button in the near future. A few reasons why:
- Banks control timing: Many feeds update on a schedule set by the bank or provider, so a global refresh wouldn’t guarantee instant data across all accounts.
- Reliability & limits: Triggering lots of refreshes at once can hit provider limits and make refreshes fail more often, which is a worse experience overall.
- Security & MFA: Some feeds require multi‑factor authentication or a specific user to refresh, which can’t safely be handled by a single bulk action.
For now we’re focusing on keeping per‑account refresh reliable and clear in the new homepage banking widget, and we’ll keep tracking interest in bulk refresh for future planning.

Chart of accounts - Import with GIFI codes
It would be nice when you import a custom chart of accounts to prepopulate the GIFI, similar to the report codes.

Reconciliation - Auto fill line with remaining total
We have a lot of transaction that include GST, but only on part of the purchase. (Mobile catering business where we shop a lot in supermarkets.) When adding details, it has been very helpful to have the transaction already split into two lines for GST-able component and GST-free component. When entering the amount of the payment that includes GST, (which has to be calculated as receipts mostly show GST included), it would be great if the GST-free line auto-filled with the balance. Obviously this wouldn't solve every breakdown of expenses, but it would save having to use the calculator where…
2 votesNot something we have immediate plans for but appreciate the detail in your idea here, and we'll start to get an idea of the votes from community in this.
In the meantime, will be dependent on how you enter transactions, but perhaps Bank Rules could enable you to apply based on proportions?

Bank | Reconcile period - Allow copy & paste with '$' symbol
Thanks for adding this feature. I'm trying it and I noticed that if you copy and paste a value with a $ in it, it will not paste properly. Sometimes when you copy paste opening or closing balances from PDF it copies including the dollar sign.
Please allow to paste the value with the $ in it.
Also, there doesnt seem to be any way of deleting a draft period. Please consider adding a small garbage bin icon in the period list and inside the period.
Thanks!
1 voteHi team, returning to this idea we wanted to confirm that we are still watching the interest ands support for being able to copy and paste amounts with a $ sign here however this isn't something we have any direct plans for right now. Please make sure to get your colleagues that would also like to see this to vote for the idea here. If there are any changes for this idea we will share an update here. Thanks

Reconcile Period - Show end date of last reconciled period on Homepage
When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.
28 votesHi everyone, thanks for your support in this idea, We appreciate the need in having more visibility of the last reconciled period of a a bank account at a quick glance.
We're keeping a close eye on the needs around Reconcile period and are tracking demand in this type of reporting closely. We'll be sure to share if there are any updates with you here.

Bank reconciliation - Ability to enter dates directly in formats other than dd mmm yyyy
Across Xero it would be very useful (and intuitive) to be able to type dates in formats other than dd mmm yyyy (for example dd/mm/yyyy, ddmmyyyy, etc). The dd mmm yyyy isn't the usual way to enter and clients have commented that it's irritating that they can't type the date in (they use the calendar instead) because it didn't occur to them to try this format, and even when you are aware the habit when typing dates into these boxes is to use one of the more common formats so it can lead to errors
5 votesHi Jonathan! Thanks for sharing this great suggestion about allowing more flexible date formats in Xero. We can see how being able to type a date in different formats (like dd/mm/yyyy) would be a much quicker and more intuitive experience for many, and acknowledge that this functionality is available within other areas of Xero.
We've also added the supporters of this idea to these two similar ideas; New invoicing and Fixed Assets.🙂

Chart of Accounts - Change Xero's default Entertainment ledger codes
Chart of Accounts - the ledger codes (a) Entertainment-100% business and (b) Entertainment-0%. Can you change these categories? We accountants all know that the descriptions are misleading.
Almost all (unqualified) bookkeepers use (a) for client entertainment and claim VAT. Subsequently, accountants blindly treat this category as business expenses, reducing the taxable profit. (i.e. wrongly deduct it for corporation tax purposes) I cannot tell you how many cases I've seen in the past few years.
Please change the default categories to (a) Staff-only entertainment and (b) Client entertainment?
3 votesHi Ray, appreciate your raising this through product ideas.
We'll get a sense of the interest in changing this within the default chart of accounts from the community here.
Just to confirm, while Xero offers a default chart of accounts, you can import your own chart of accounts to set these up as you prefer, or edit individual accounts within Xero.

Bank Reconciliation - Report date to default to next period
When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

Bank Reconciliation - Automatic coding of transfers between bank accounts
It would be great if Xero could automatically do the transfer between Xero bank accounts.
This is our most time consuming and often error-prone coding in Xero when it should be a simple fix. Many clients still battle with this.23 votes -
Bank Feed - Aldermore bank
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Aldermore bank
85 votesHi everyone, thanks for all the support for a bank feed with Aldermore Bank. We are aware of the interest here, and are currently exploring the possibility of this feed.
As some of you have noted, the best option for now is to manually import your bank statements into Xero. This will help you keep your accounts up-to-date. You can find instructions on how to do this in our Xero Central article here: Import a bank statement.
Another way you can help is by letting Aldermore Bank know you’d like to see them integrate with Xero. We've found that banks are more likely to prioritise building a feed when they hear directly from their own customers. They can get in touch with our team to start the process here: Register your financial institution for bank feeds.
We want to be transparent that while we're aware of the demand…

Bank Feed - Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
588 votesHi everyone, thank you all for your support and engaging to let us know the importance and use you'd have in being able to receive bank feeds for Charities Aid Foundation(CAF) bank.
We're pleased to share that our provider Tink is building this at present and we're currently testing with a small group of users.
We appreciate your interest, and look forward to getting this in your hands soon. I'll be back to share more news as things progress. Thanks

Bank Feed - Chase bank
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop feed that supports Chase bank UK
43 votesHi everyone, while we have good intentions to keep this moving along, I'm afraid we've hit a few snags in the road through development of this feed.
At this time we don't have a timeframe for when we will be able to overcome these hurdles, so I'll shift this idea back to Accepted.
As soon as there is progress to share here, I'll provide an update.

Bank Reconciliation - Filter by spend/receive money
Filter the bank reconciliation by spend or received
Simple to complete the debtors first / or creditors
89 votesHi everyone ✨
Thanks for continuing to share your feedback on this idea. We’ve seen a lot of interest in having more detailed filters in Bank Reconciliation, including separate fields for Spent and Received amounts, and for Bill Numbers and Invoice Numbers 😊
We understand how clearer filtering would make it easier to review transactions, track activity, and find the right items faster when reconciling.
We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so other customers can vote and add comments. The more detail we can gather on the situations where this would help most, the better this helps our team understand the impact and prioritise future improvements ✨
We’ll continue to monitor the feedback here and share any updates as we have them.

Bank Account - Visibility of Credit Card due dates
Given XERO is pulling in credit card transaction details can they pull in payment due dates to help manage timing of payments? Could be as simple as a "Payment is due" flag that a user can manually turn off if they want after paying.
3 votesThanks for the feedback here team, we appreciate how more visibility of credit card payment due dates could help with managing cashflows.
This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but will continue to monitor interest in this idea closely and share if there is any progress.

Lock date - Separate lock dates for sales Tax and accounting period
Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.
It would save a significant amount of time if VAT periods in Xero could have a separate lock date than the accounting period lock date. For instance, an invoice/bank transaction is still outstanding when filing a VAT return, and the VAT return date could be locked so once this outstanding transaction is completed at a later date, it would automatically appear on the next VAT return. This should be separated from the accounting period lock dates, as you still want to account for that transaction in it's relevant period,…27 votesHi everyone, thanks for all your votes and comments on this idea. Just a quick update to let you know that this request is still open for voting and comments from the community.
We're keeping an eye on the demand for this idea here, and will be sure to post another update if changes are made in this area.

Bank Accounts page - Filter bank accounts by unreconciled
I have 22 bank accounts and loans on the "Bank accounts page". It would be good if I could quickly filter the unreconciled ones to the top, rather than scrolling through looking for unreconciled accounts.

Bank Reconciliation - Show current bank feed balance
Add the ability to display the current actual bank balance from the bank feed alongside the statement balance and Xero balance. This would help users quickly see their true available funds without needing to log into their bank separately.
Currently:We can only see the statement balance and Xero balance
Must log into bank separately to see actual current balance
No way to quickly verify available funds within XeroProposed Solution:
Add a "Current Bank Balance" column that pulls the real-time balance from the bank feed, similar to QuickBooks Online. This would:Display alongside existing balance columns
