Appreciate you bringing this to the community. We understand the request for a user setting to disable the browser unload confirmation when navigating away from Xero.

The prompt can be useful when there are unsaved changes, while an option to turn it off could be preferred by users who don't need the additional confirmation.

I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. Add your vote and let us know on which screen you’d prefer this setting to work.

  2. Requires ability to change the amount on an issued check without reissuing or recreating the check
    * Does not want to remove and redo payment or void the check to correct the amount
    * Needs a direct method to edit the check amount after creation.
Quickbooks allows this feature and if we do not have it we continue with quickbooks and move on from Xero.
We don't always write a simple check as we have various expenses that we track to our vendors.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We understand the request to edit the amount of an existing check without needing to void or recreate it. Having more flexibility to make small corrections could make managing check payments and vendor expenses easier.

I've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and share how you'd like check editing to work.

  3. On the Bank Reconciliation screen, please add a filter or checkbox to show only transactions where Xero has identified a matching bank rule. Essentially, “Here are all the lines that match the criteria of a bank rule.”

At present, these transactions are mixed in with all other unreconciled bank transactions. This means users must work through or scroll past numerous transactions to identify those where a bank rule is available.

A simple filter such as “Bank rule matches only” would allow users to quickly review and reconcile all transactions that have triggered a bank rule in one batch.

    This would…

Thanks for sharing this feedback. Having a way to quickly isolate transactions matched by bank rules could make high-volume bank reconciliation easier to manage.

Thanks for connecting with our Xero Support team to feedback on our last update, Rachel. you can always react to the email notification of the status update from the idea that'll allow you to share feedback that myself and the team review, too. 🙂

Though it's possible to view the history when a change is made to an account in the chart of accounts, there's no current event that records when a user creates a new account.

We'll start to get a feel for the interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates.

  5. Refund transaction that links to a previous Spend money transaction
    Hi Xero users,
When we received a refund for a payment, the only option is to record the received amount as a separate transaction in the same account.
There is no option to link the refund transaction to the previous completed spend transaction unless it is a Bill.
It would be very helpful if Xero can add this feature
This way, when we click on a spend transaction, we can know immediately if it is refunded or not, cause the two spend and received transactions are at different date so…

Hi Hayley, thanks for bringing this idea to the community. We understand that being able to link refunds back to the original transaction could simplify reconciliation and record keeping.

I've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If this were introduced, how would you like the linking process to work? Your input could help shape the approach.

  6. Huge problem with the new update! Maybe it's just me.

Combining all company credit cards into a single feed is creating a significant problem for our accounting process.

We have five different company credit cards assigned to different departments, but the system combines all transactions into one feed and sorts them only by date. This means that at the end of each month, when employees submit their receipts, I have to sort through transactions from five different cards just to reconcile each department's expenses. With the old feeds, that was easy. With the new feed going into master account, it…

Hi Lacey, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand how useful it could be to have clearer visibility of transactions across individual corporate cards and departments.

I've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community feedback. It would be great to hear which credit card provider you'd like this feature to be available for.

  7. Importing Bank Feeds - When importing bank feeds, before confirming the import it would be useful to see what the new statement balance in Xero will be once the transactions have imported so you can reconcile it to the statement balance before hitting confirm.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Amey. A balance preview during bank statement imports could make it easier to verify the imported statement lines before they’re added.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback.

  8. Correct the Westpac Bank Feed so the fields are passed through to Xero correctly. Currently the Description (from Westpac) is put into the Payee field (which should be Merchant), resulting in truncated description payee.

This causes us several issues in our reconciling process, particularly with being unable to identify who made a purchase without logging into the westpac portal, as well as not being able to set up rules to consistently process against a contact without the merchant being passed through correctly.

I believe the matching of a transaction to a bank line is also impacted by this. We often…

Thanks for sharing this idea 🌟 We can see how an extra confirmation step before deleting a transaction could help prevent accidental deletions and give users more confidence when making changes.

We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand how many customers would value this and the different scenarios where it would be most useful. If this would make a difference for your workflow, please keep the votes and examples coming as they help our product team assess the impact.

Appreciate you raising this suggestion. Being able to save partial allocations could provide more flexibility when working through larger list of reconciliation.

At the moment, only completed entries can be saved in Cash Coding. As a workaround, you can reconcile straightforward transactions there first, then return to more complex items from the Reconcile tab.

We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and understanding the demand for this capability.

  12. In the Xero Accounting App it would be really useful to be able to enter a receive money transaction. This option is only available in the desktop version but for those that receive cash on the move it would be helpful to be able to record this via the app, particularly as it won't show up in a bank feed.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how being able to create a Receive Money transaction directly in the Xero Accounting mobile app could make it easier to capture transactions while you're away from your computer.

For now, if the payment has already appeared in your bank feed, you can create the transaction during bank reconciliation in the mobile app. If it hasn't reached your bank feed yet, you'll need to wait until you're back on a web browser to enter it manually.

We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest.

  13. AmBank Group Malaysia (including AmBank Islamic) currently has no direct bank feed integration with Xero. Malaysian SMEs using AmBank must manually export and upload CSV statements, which is inefficient and error-prone. We request Xero to establish a direct API-enabled bank feed with AmBank, similar to the existing CIMB and RHB Malaysia integrations. This would greatly benefit Malaysian businesses and support Xero's growing presence in Malaysia.

Appreciate you raising this idea, Azman. We can see how connecting AmBank Malaysia through a direct bank feed could help streamline reconciliation and reduce the need for manual statement imports.

We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. We'll keep sharing interest from the community with the team as they assess future banking integrations.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Mark. We can understand how receiving a warning before Xero sends a request to disconnect a bank feed could help prevent accidental disconnections, particularly when an active bank account is archived unintentionally.

  15. We make one Batch payment to suppliers each day. So we simply reconcile on the 'Find and Match' screen against the bills or overpayments. If however, we accidentally paid reconciled a payment to the wrong supplier, we have to 'Remove & Redo' the full payment - and then re-reconcile correctly.

Xero should have the ability to simply EDIT the reconciliation to change allow us to change the contact or whatever other permutations might be.

Or atleast include this in the Find and Recode facility somehow

Thanks for sharing more detail around your workflow. We understand the request to edit a reconciled batch without needing to remove and recreate it. Having the flexibility to make minor changes to an existing batch could help save time and reduce rework.

In the meantime, you can leverage the Batch Payment feature to select relevant bills and credit notes from the Bills list, and create a batch payment transaction. You can then simply match the batch payment transaction to the statement line without having to manually select each bills from the Find & Match table.

Thanks for taking the time to suggest this. We understand the request to add Bank of Singapore as a supported bank feed connection. This could help customers and advisors spend less time managing manual statement uploads.

For now, bank transactions can be brought into Xero by importing a supported statement file from your banking provider.

  17. Proposal Title:
Introducing Xero Bank Feeds for Nigerian Financial Institutions
    Introduction:
The absence of direct bank feeds in Nigeria creates unnecessary manual work and increases the risk of errors. We propose the introduction of bank feeds for key Nigerian banks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    Objective:
To enable seamless, secure, and automated bank feeds in Xero, reducing reliance on manual imports and strengthening audit readiness.
    Problem Statement:
Currently, users must manually import bank statements. This process is:

    Time-consuming and repetitive
Prone to human error and reconciliation delays
A barrier to real-time financial reporting and compliance
    Proposed Solution:
    Xero should partner…

  18. We have twice had clients attach the wrong bank account to the Xero bank accounts when setting up direct bank feeds. Obviously they should check the bank account number when attaching the account but there should be a check in the software to prevent or at least warn against this.

Hi there, appreciate you for putting this forward. We can see how validating bank account numbers during direct bank feed setup could help reduce errors and give users more confidence when connecting their accounts.

We just want to highlight that users have the option to edit and change bank account numbers from the Chart Of Accounts screen after the bank feed is connected.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is something you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how this would improve your bank feed setup process.

Hi Samantha, thanks for highlighting this improvement. We understand the ask to have a direct bank feed for RBC Line of Credit accounts could make it much easier to keep borrowing activity and repayments up to date without relying on manual imports.

At the moment, direct feeds for some RBC Line of Credit accounts aren't available. This means transactions may need to be imported manually, which can add extra steps when reconciling your accounts and monitoring balances.

In the meantime, you can download transactions from your RBC Online Banking account and import them into Xero using the Import a Statement option. This helps keep your account up to date while continuing to reconcile activity in Xero.

We'll continue to track interest and gather more input from others who'd benefit from this capability.

  20. When linking a Co-Operative Bank Business account it is currently necessary to download and print off a pre-populated form, sign and then upload. Two weeks later you (I assume this is a common experience) receive a message saying the bank account number needed to be 16 digits. You then need to do the whole thing again, this time adding two zeros to the end of the bank account number so the system can recognise it.

Ideally of course non of this would be necessary but I think the piece of paper itself is a Co-Op problem not a Xero one.…

Hi Carolyn, thanks for raising this with the community. We can see how a simpler way to connect Co-operative Bank accounts could make getting started with bank feeds much easier.

At the moment, the setup process for some bank feeds is determined by the bank's requirements, which may include completing and submitting an authority form before the feed can be activated. While waiting for the bank feed to be approved, you can import bank statements manually using CSV files to keep your accounts up to date and continue reconciling transactions.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If you'd like to share more, it would be helpful to know which part of the setup process caused the most friction, whether it was the forms, the approval timeframe, or something else.
