  1. When 'Adding details' or editing a transaction, the running total amount needs to equal the original transaction amount (money receive or spent). Some businesses require entering multiple line item entries in order to balance a deposit or withdraw. XERO states the total amount entered at the bottom, but does not state the 'Mathematical Difference' between the original transaction amount & the running total. In order to determine this, a manual calculator is needed. XERO should state the running total as well as the running difference.

  2. Would it be possible for Holding accounts to be set up as 'Bank' rather than 'Current Asset'. A number of my clients use holding accounts for Petty cash, cash drawer, Eftpos, Eway etc. I need to reconcile these accounts monthly and it takes me three tomes as long as it used to do in MYOB. I am reluctant to move any more of my clients to Xero while this is the situation. As it seems counter productive to move to a software that takes more time to reconcile. I know there is a work around with the transaction report exported…

Hi Martin, it's not a feed we have immediate plans for atm. However it'd be good for us to get a sense of the demand in this through your idea here.

We will keep an eye on the support in this and share if there are any updates.

  5. Until recently I have been manually importing my monthly BlueVine Statements into Xero. This is a far from ideal approach since from a reporting and receivables standpoint, the data will always be stale and out of date. This leads to events like automated past due reminders going out for receivables that have actually been received and marked as paid.

I just recently learned of the bank feed integration with Yodlee, but the quality of the data provided by this service is heavily flawed by sending over incorrect analysis codes with transactions that cannot be removed or edited. While it does…

Appreciate you sharing why the Yodlee feed doesn't currently fit your needs, Jeff.

We're always keen to hear the new feed connections our customers would most like to see. We don't have immediate plans for a direct bank feed with BlueVine, however we'll start to get a feel of the this through support in your idea here, and can keep you updated if any plans are made.

  6. American Express Business in Hong Kong
As many Business Owners in Hong Kong, I got American Express Businesss Credit Card. I still don't understand why we don't have the direct feed while some software with less accounting features like Odoo already got it.
It is urgent for Xero to arrange the direct feed on American Express Business Credit Card in Hong Kong!

  7. Perhaps it's a bug but, while using cash coding /fast coding of a bank account, if nothing is ticked, I can still click 'Save & Reconcile all', which I have done by mistake on 2 occasions, causing panic and painstaking efforts to find out what had been coded and undo it (it was many things that were not meant to use the bank rule or needed further details) EG on the cash code screen , transactions that match bank rule are prefilled, which is great, but does not mean they are ready, so I should only be able to click…

Hey! We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve the Cash Coding screen for you. You're right that this is currently designed to accept the suggested reconciliations, even if you haven't ticked anything yourself.

This idea can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

  8. It would be great if Xero allowed businesses to display logos in transaction details, similar to how many banks are now doing. This would make records more visually clear and easier to identify at a glance.

  10. For Advisors only: if a padlock is present on an account of the COA I would like the padlock to go to the bank rules so they can easily be redirected to the new account. For example, we set up Directors Loan accounts for each financial year. Each year we hae to add a new account too the COAs and reroute all of the rules. Painful!

Hey Michele, thanks for your suggestion to make the padlock icon on the Chart of Accounts a direct link to the associated bank rules.

We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that would improve your workflow. We can see how this would be a huge time-saver for Advisors, especially when managing year-end processes like creating new Director's Loan accounts and rerouting the old rules.

We've reviewed your idea, and it's now ready to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, other Advisors can now comment to share more detail about how this feature could make their own account management processes much less painful. 🙂

Thanks for sharing the bank you'd like us to build a feed with, angel. We appreciate you taking your time to share changes that would be most meaningful to you.

This isn't something we're developing just atm, but it'll be good to get s sense of the interest from your idea here.

Hi Tania, thanks for submitting this idea! We understand it'd be to have an automatic alert for unallocated overpayments during bank reconciliation. Without this, credits can be easily missed and left unallocated.

Right now, there’s no pop-up or indicator on the reconciliation screen to remind you about existing unallocated credits, so manual tracking is needed.

This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. Your votes and comments help us see how important this feature is to the wider Xero community and guide what we build next.

We appreciate you sharing your suggestion! This idea is now classified as Gaining Support. Introducing a direct feed for Country Bank (US) would simplify transaction imports and speed up reconciliation processes.

In the meantime, you can always manually import the statement lines for Country Bank (US) into Xero,.

If this feature would be helpful to you, we encourage you to vote or comment. Every bit of feedback helps us improve Xero.

Thank you for your involvement in the Xero Product Ideas community.

  14. when searching for an invoice number in find and match while doing reconciliation, it would be useful not to have to hit enter every time, especially as i can only search one invoice at a time. it all adds up to excess clicks when doing large batch reconciliations

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you taking the time to explain how auto-search in the Find and Match screen could help streamline your reconciliation workflow.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  15. When adding a bank fee adjustment during the details entry of a reconciliation, it'd save a click to automatically place the cursor focus on the contact field. This already happens when we click to add details to a reconciliation, so it makes sense for the same behavior to occur when we click to add a bank fee adjustment. One click...hundreds of times...lots of efficiency!

Big thanks to Matthew for kicking things on this! The idea is to have the cursor default to the contact field when adding a bank fee during reconciliation. It’s a small change, but when you’re working through heaps of transactions, it can save a lot of time.

If this would make your workflow smoother, we’d love to hear more from you. Add your vote or drop a comment to let us know, it helps the product team see how much this matters across the community.

We’ll keep you posted here as things move along.

  16. Hi Xero, please could you consider adding the option of including job numbers in the PayPal bank feed uploads. I am aware the data in the statement lines imported into Xero on the feed, is provided directly by Paypal themselves. But it would be very useful when looking at costs per job as we use PayPal to pay many providers globally in a day and PayPal is the best option for them an us, the job number would link the invoices to a job.

  17. To be able to use Find and Recode in Cash Mode. This would make searching for and recoding payments of bills and invoices within a time period much easier. For example, when a client becomes GST Registered and payments from a certain date need to have GST applied.

  18. Ability to set up a bank rule to pay off an existing bill that is paid in monthly instalments. Currently have to manually allocate the monthly payment to a bill using the match and split function but it would be useful if a rule could be set up for this.

Hi Tiaan, while you can't filter or search by money received or spent you can order your transactions from the Account transactions tab by Received or Spent by clicking on the column header. Does this achieve what you're in need of here, or could you share a bit more detail of what you're often looking to find? If needed you could add a date search to filter these down further.

  20. It would be nice when you import a custom chart of accounts to prepopulate the GIFI, similar to the report codes.
