Purchase order - Include attachments when converting to Bill
When converting a Purchase Order to a bill it would be great if there was a way of transferring any PDFs attached to the PO to the Bill. At the moment you need to remember to do this manually.
Hi team, we appreciate interest and why you may want to copy documents from a source transaction when creating a bill.
We want to be open that this isn't something we have immediate plans for developing. For the time being we will continue to watch the support this idea builds closely here. If there is any progress we'll be sure to let you know

By having this implemented it would mean less data stored on your servers, currently he have documents attached to the PO's and then duplicate when the bill is created. Having attachments linked to PO's, bills quotes and invoices is critical to our organisation. Having these copy from PO's to bills and quotes to invoices would be a game changer. Further having them accessible on the projects module would be mind blowing.

An option to bring any attachments from a PO to a bill when it is 'copied to bill' - or just automatically bring the attachments with it when it is transferred to a draft bill

Why is such a simple thing not been implemented yet?

up until just today i've worked around the purchase order attachment issue when creating a bill by sending the attachment to files, then picking it up again. until today, as far as i know, the attachment on the p.o. was at top r/hand of p.o., with the option to send the attachment to files using the red cross/file option. the attachment today is annoyingly at bottom left, and no sign whatsoever of the option to send the attachment to files. is this something i'm misunderstanding? currently this option is NOT AT ALL HELPFUL!

Agree completely, opening files to download from the PO and then attach to the bill is fiddly and time consuming.

Yes - i know the originating PO is linked in the History section of the Bill, but it would be very useful to have the actual attachments on the Bill.
If it's inefficient to have a second Copy of those same attachments then maybe there could be an option to just move them from the PO to the Bill?

Yep - amazes me how this isn't a automatic occurrence - what a waste of time having to download all the invoices from the field guys and then upload them all as I pay their bills!

When you mark a PO as billed and copy to a draft bill the files attached to the PO don't remain with it and attach to the draft bill. Very annoying that you have to re-save the file and re-attach it to the bill

Yes please! It's a nightmare to download attachments and upload them to the bill manually...

Is this feature available yet? We find the same issue when the PO from Approvalmax is syned to Xero. When that PO is copied as a Bill in Xero, the attachments from the PO doesn't transfer to the bill.

I can see that this question was first asked in 2019, this is 2024 and its not done! This is a really good feature as it connects the PO to the billing system. Most times, the invoice is attached to the PO. It is very time consuming to have to download the attachment from the PO ad reattach it to the bill.

Could this feature please be added, ie when a sales invoice is converted from a quote - documents attached to quote would automatically be added to the invoice. Same with purchase order. Documents attached to purchase order would automatically come across when purchase order converts to Bill. Hope this feature gets added soon!
