I am not sure how the search is working as expected....please see my search results and NO I don't want to have to go and Search in contacts, we never had to do that previously, when the search was in fact working as expected! Two different companies two different searches..... I thought upgrades were supposed to help with efficiency....having to search in different places, is in no way efficient and it is more time consuming.

The one searching for Stratco is searching within the same company file, yet I type in Stratco and one contact comes up, I then need to type in Stratco ( for the other Stratco to come up....how in anyones right mind do they think this search is working as intended? It is clearly NOT working, I would expect if I typed in even Strat......those TWO contacts should come up....similarly like if I type in S.....I would have thousands of results, with everything that starts with S and has S....then I type ST.....I would reduce the search further but I would still have both Stratco contacts, and any other names starting with st, or possibly with st in the name or description, then I type STR and again the search should reduce, as you are being more specific, however the two contacts would still remain within the search, and so the process of elimination goes, which in this process there is a process of randomly pick what you feel like.....there is certainly no common factor in the search....if your contact has the EXACT same name.....with extra characters after, the shorter version is displayed....I can prove this with another search, check when I search Mei, only one contact comes up, I have to type in Meizhou in order for both to come up! Why?? Mei is in BOTH contacts, so BOTH contacts should appear.

Appreciate the interest in being able to search by description. While we're attentive to your feedback, I want to be open that we don't have any immediate plans for developing this atm.

We're staying close to feedback on how we can improve navigation for our customers when using Xero, and I'll let you know if there is any development planned surrounding this, here. Thanks

I have to say, the multi-currency feature in Xero is below standard. Most reports don't support it. I am trying to write off stock and I couldn't work out how the average cost price was so much higher than what we even bought it for. I was just about to do a revaluation of the stock, as the average cost price is just too high....then realised it was more than likely in the base currency. The Demo company doesn't have multi-currency setup, you could probably check it out, but everything is in the base currency, so I don't have time to fiddle around with that. I need to post this as soon as possible for a client, but I am actually stumped! I have NO idea what the value will be in the report....I have found the support for multi-currency very limited.

I absolutely support this idea, I am trying to reconcile a large complicated supplier and for the most part the supplier bill activity has worked for my little clients. More complex clients this does not work in the slightest. In fact this particular client that is large and more complex, also uses multi-currency. Instead of being able to download a simple supplier statement, like we could previously, I have had to manually go through each record and manually put it into and excel spreadsheet. It has taken a day for me to do this....when a simple Supplier Statement would have VERY easily have taken me an hour to cross check with what they had. It would have taken even longer had the supplier not sent me a statement from themselves, so I wasn't working off a blank canvas, but it still took me a days work.

Why can't I use a Supplier Bill Activity....well, there is no option to change the currency! I certainly could not use it to check off a USD Statement against a AUD Statement. This is a major issue with the report. Xero support took 6 hours to come back to me advising I use a Payable Invoice (Detail/Summary) Report, that is NOT what I am after, I can quite as easily view in the supplier file all the invoices, I am in need of the suppliers ACTIVITY, vastly different to seeing invoices as being paid or not. And more importantly, viewing it in the currency in which the supplier uses. It's really not helpful providing a document in another currency.

Please consider re-instating supplier statements. I don't know why it was removed in the first place.

Thanks for your feedback, Christine. Appreciate how this could help though I want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing this atm.

It would help in passing on your feedback to the right team to know if there is a specific area in Xero that you'd most commonly view the balance owing to your supplier - e.g would this be within their contact record, or do you run a particular report to view multiple supplier balances at once?

This definitely needs to be address, either you need to change xero to no longer support multi-currency, or listen to your users, as the reporting for multi-currency is beyond a joke. I am trying to reconcile an account, the supplier has sent us their records and I can't even pull an appropriate report to reconcile it with, as the report comes out in AUD and the supplier is a USD account. I can't send the client a supplier statement, as it is in the wrong currency....oh wait...xero did away with supplier statements for whatever reason.

Hi team, to confirm the idea here are you asking for the ability to view ageing for contacts within their contact record in Xero?

As one user has noted in the idea, it is currently possible to run the Aged Payable or Receivable Detail reports where you can set the Ageing periods to be Day, Week or Month based on your choosing. If needed you can also filter these reports by Contact.

Appreciate there has been an ask around ageing periods directly within the customer statement - this is not something we have any short term plans for. You can see more around this on this idea.

Similarly we've had an idea raised for Suppliers statements similar to a customer statement and want to be upfront this isn't planned at this time.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your input on being able to add new tracking options while invoicing and our team are looking into improvements that could be made to this flow in new invoicing. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here.

This is very important and makes sense! In fact, maybe xero should identify the offending Super and notify us and release the batch so we can re-authorise

Hi community, we've released our first update to history and notes of new invoicing, where you can now view more detail of changes such as where an issue or due date has been altered or the amount of your invoice is changed. There's more improvements for this space coming soon and I'll keep you up to date with these, here.

I totally agree, to have to create a bill from a credit note and pay the credit note off through a suspense account, create a bill to the same suspense account, just to refund the amount is a really painful process.

Thanks for your support on the idea, everyone. We thoroughly appreciate your participation, and letting us know where you'd like to see change across Xero.

Customer statements, is an area of Xero that needs upgrades to it's technology in order to make ideas like this one here possible.

Currently, while we have plans for modernising this space soon we cannot commit to any new developments for Statements until this work has been complete. Once this has been done I'll round back to the idea here when we can reset the objectives.

Hi everyone, appreciate there are more regions users would like to see us adopt solutions for and we'll keep you in the know of any progress, here.

In the UK, we have some updates with the bill payments method with Crezco. You now have more control of your cashflows with the ability to schedule bills to be paid at a future date using direct bank transfer. This'll help avoid potential bank charges for same day transactions, and missing due dates. Along with this you'll also be able to stay up to date with your payments with real-time payment status in Xero. Meaning you don't have to log into your bank to check the status of each bill payment. With an overview of all payments made using direct bank transfer, you have an accurate record of which suppliers have been paid, and when.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).

We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.

That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.

In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Hi community, to continue sharing on our development of einvoicing in the UK - we've now released our first part of this experience. So, if you have registered for einvoicing, you'll be able to edit your billing contact to select to 'Receive Xero subscription bills as einvoices where you'll just need to enter your businesses VAT. As mentioned in my last update - we're still developing this experience, and coming up will be the ability to choose this option from the online invoice itself. I'll loop back when this is released.
