Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this. We appreciate you sharing how important it is to be able to add an additional percentage on top of PAYG.
As you’re aware, you can increase the amount of tax withheld each pay, however the figure must be a fixed amount.
We understand some of you have been using workarounds like manual calculations or withholding variations, which create challenges if employees earnings are not fixed.
While this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, we've updated this idea to Accepted, so that it’s up for formal consideration.
We're grateful for your continued input as it helps us understand what matters.

Hi everyone, we appreciate how quickly this idea has picked up traction from the community here.
As you've likely heard through other communications we're in the midst of rolling out a unified Client experience as part of our wider Xero Partner Hub.
With the new Client experience you can now;
- Create a client without a TFN, as the Create Client flow has been updated to capture only the basic details
- The TFN can be added later by clicking Edit once the client is created.
- If you do try add a TFN that already exists on an archived client, an error message is displayed - you can get a view of what this looks like in my attachment
Thanks again for sharing with us here and I'll be back to confirm when this new experience is live to all practices.

Hello everyone, while you can currently export reports to compare pay runs, we understand the value of having this capability built directly into Xero and have been following this idea closely.
For now, AU and UK organisations can use the Payroll Activity Details report for one employee at a time by selecting the relevant date range for the pay periods. To help prevent errors, we recommend checking that employee pay templates are set up correctly, ensuring future pay runs are consistent and accurate.
Although this isn’t on our roadmap at present, we recognise the impact it'd have for customers and will continue to consider it as we plan future payroll enhancements. We’ll share any updates related to payroll comparatives here.

Hey team, 👋 "Can I take this holiday?" - Now, we know this is one of the most common questions employees ask, and it's one we'd like to be able to help you solve with Xero Payroll.
We'd love your help in shaping the future of Leave projections in Xero - As a start, please share any detail about;
- What information you normally need for calculating future leave balances currently?
- What would you need to see or understand to trust that the projected balance is accurate?
We're also looking to set up a research session to dive deeper into your current process and explore options wth us - If you'd be willing to give some time, take a few minutes to fill in our survey📝 and we'll be in touch in the coming days. Thanks!

Hey everyone 👋 Thanks so much for all the detailed feedback on applying work patterns for part-time employees. We’ve been following the conversation and understand that manually adjusting pay runs for pro-rata entitlements can be a real challenge. It’s clear that having this automated could save time and give you greater peace of mind.
I’m pleased to let you know our product team has reviewed this idea and we’re updating the status to ‘Accepted’. This means that while it’s not on our immediate roadmap, it’s something we see real value in and want to bring into Xero when we can prioritise the work.
In the meantime, the workarounds shared here, like manually adjusting hours in each pay run, remain the best approach. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as your feedback plays a crucial role in shaping Xero. We’ll keep you updated on any developments…

Hi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.
The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.
We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

Thanks for the great discussion and all the votes on this idea. We know that without the ability to set specific leave approvers, it can be harder to keep governance clear, avoid self-approval and ensure requests go to the right person.
While we’re not planning to develop dedicated approval workflows in the near term, we want to share a tip that many have found useful. You can help streamline the process by guiding employees to select their direct manager from the approver list. While all payroll admins and leave approvers are listed, this step helps make sure requests reach the right person and keeps oversight clear.
Your feedback here is incredibly valuable for future planning and we’ll continue to keep an eye on this idea’s traction. We’ll keep it open for voting and will share any updates if plans change down the track.

Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. We're reviewing all our product ideas as we move to a new status system. There aren't any planned updates for HECS/STSL deductions in the near term, so we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas.

This is critical. Xero is effectively under withholding leaving employees with a big tax bill come tax time.

Hey community,
Thanks for all your feedback on this idea.
As you’ve found, users could bookmark reports and that bookmark would work across organisations. However, this caused some strange behaviour when navigating between organisations in bookmarked reports.
By including a unique Organisation ID in the the new report URLs, the data displayed is consistent with the organisation the report was bookmarked in. The result is that users can navigate away from a bookmarked report, without Xero updating the organisation.
To be transparent here, this was a deliberate change, and there are no plans to re-implement book-markable links to reports.

Xero appears to have fixed this as of mid-January 2024!
