Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate that having to manually select attachments on every invoice can feel a little fiddly. We get that you want a smoother workflow, that saves you time.
As noted by others in the idea, one option for now would be to add standard files, like your terms and conditions, directly to your invoice template. That way, they'll be included automatically when you send out your invoices.
To confirm how this functionality currently works - this is based on the user and driven by the last invoice that was sent. Where you have files attached, and you had selected to include files as an attachment when emailing the invoice, the next invoice you send with file attachments should have this selected by default.
A caveat to this is when you are working in incognito mode, or refresh your browser…

Hi community, your ongoing interest in giving users the ability to reconcile without viewing account balances is welcomed.
We understand why this level of bank permission control matters. As recently mentioned in my updates on this idea, while we do have current work for user roles underway there is more complexities to developing permissions within the banking space and this isn't on the immediate roadmap.
As we continue our journey to evolving roles within Xero we'll be sure to share any progress for permissions in bank accounts with you all, here.

Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

Thank you for your engagement and feedback on this idea. We’ve seen some great suggestions in this thread on how a password-protected lock date could work. The current lock date feature prevents new transactions from being entered and can only be removed by Advisor level users, but we recognise that some users would benefit from introducing password protection.
As part of our new Xero Product Idea process, we have recently reviewed the idea and shifted this to “Accepted”. This reflects that this is an idea we’d like to develop, but that this isn’t currently on the roadmap. We'll be back with another update as soon as we have more to share.

Hi Community! 👋 we're progressing well with our inventory permissions development, with plans to progressively roll this out early in the new year. We'll be providing a Products & services permissions set for the Invoice only role.
You'll have the ability to choose;
- No access
- View
- View and create/edit
- View, create/edit and adjust stock
I'll round back again as this begins to rollout. 🙏

Hi everyone, though there isn't any progress to share on this idea we do want to provide and update for you all and thank you for engaging with us about this here.
We understand the desire and needs for being able to change or set a separate reply to email address when sending from your Xero organisation.
We're continuing to make improvements to sending of invoices in Xero however at this point our roadmaps does not extend to the email settings specifically.
This continues to be an area we're interested in diving deeper into in the long term and we'll be sure to share as soon as there's movement.
For the time being the only way to change the Reply-to email is to update this on the email settings screen prior to sending your transaction and change it back post sending. Thanks

We appreciate everyone that's contributed here. Needs in more incremental permissions for bank accounts, have been clearly highlighted in your feedback - from protecting the confidentiality of payroll information to securely delegating reconciliation tasks for specific accounts.
Leaning in from our last update, our product teams have conducted lots of research of existing user roles, to highlight the most critical areas work is needed to power up our customers use of Xero.
Reporting and inventory are our first areas of priority, and you may have seen recent updates across ideas for these areas.
Permissions to bank accounts is another area that stood out in our research, but has more dependencies and will take longer to develop.
We'll keep you updated as our journey with roles and permissions evolve and there's more in the space of banking to share with you all.

No business should be in the position that every member of staff has access to its confidential financial position! Come on XERO Please hurry up and get on with such a basic requirement.......
The limited amount of user access levels you provide leaves you way behind SAGE, where, as I'm sure you are aware, admin can tailor make the access every user has.
By ignoring the amount of requests that have already been made by Xero users you are simply causing more work for them, they need to get on with more complex tasks in running a business, however, until you do something about this they are also having to do basic tasks that should delegated to other staff members eg why does a user that is dealing with purchase orders and inventory items need access to the bank???
It was a big decision for me to move from SAGE to XERO and for all the plus points I can honestly say had I known how limited this area was, I would not have moved until it was sorted.
I'm often asked how I'm finding Xero, and as recommendations go I can only tell other businesses about this hugely negative point until it's sorted.
How many 'votes' does it take for you to support your users and prioritise a vital function over spending time making it look 'beautiful'???
I look forward to hearing from you.
