Thanks so much for sharing this idea. We can see how being able to view long manual journal titles more easily would be helpful, especially when you're quickly scanning your journals.
We've moved your idea to Gaining Support so other customers can vote and add their feedback too. If anyone else would find wrapped titles, or a toggle to control this, helpful in Manual Journals, please add your support and share how it affects your workflow — those details are really useful for our team.

Hi team, just adding an update here as it's best if each idea is separated so we can get a clear gauge of interest in a change - I've created a new idea from this one about the debit & credit request, and have slightly adjust the title here to reflect the desire to change the column ordering.
We'll update if there is any change planned for either of these ideas respectively. Thanks

Thanks everyone, we appreciate hearing how the new Manual Journals layout has landed for you, and the challenges you're facing.
In response to feedback we’ve recently released several changes;
We've updated the layout, column sizing, spacing and typography so more journal details are visible without horizontal scrolling, including on widescreen monitors.
The description field now has more room for longer entries and supports scrolling, making it easier to review full descriptions.
We’re also working on two further improvements that we believe will improve the experience for majority of users:
- options to show, hide and reorder columns, and
- a compact view toggle for a higher-density layout.
These changes will give you more control over the information shown and help make better use of your screen space. I'll keep you updated of these changes here!

Hi everyone, we have split this idea from the original post so we can get a better sense of interest in being able to view credit and debit totals directly under the columns here.

Hi everyone, we appreciate and want to thank everyone for feedback on the responsiveness of the new Homepage. This has been shared back with our product teams as they continue to develop this experience.
At this stage, there are no plans to fix the number of columns when using the Homepage. However, our team will continue to monitor usage on this closely.
One recent change we’ve introduced is that the Homepage layout can be saved at each screen size.
For example, if you set up and save the Homepage layout for your laptop and then move to a larger monitor you’ll see this adapt. However, if you ‘edit’ the Homepage and save the layout separately from your monitor Xero will remember the layout for each screen size. You should only need to do this once for each screen you use.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the attention this idea has been getting. It's really good to hear how we can continue to improve the Homepage for our differing customers needs. We understand not all the widgets maybe useful to every user, and the 'Edit homepage' button will let you add or remove widgets to reduce what you see on the Homepage.
Taking on board feedback we're looking at the sizing of widgets and you'll find the 'Chart of Accounts' and 'Cash in and out' widgets are now smaller by default with an option to 'Make larger' - You can follow further updates for this on the idea here.
We have plans to dig deeper into possible 'view' options (like the different levels of views being asked here) in the new year and I'll share further updates here when this gets picked up. 🙂
