Thanks for your detailed feature request to introduce task categories and sub-tasks in Xero Projects.
We’ve reviewed your submission and have now moved it to the Gaining Support stage.
This means the idea is live on the forum for other members of the Xero community to add their votes and comments. Our team keeps an eye on the ideas in this stage and uses the number of votes and the shared use cases to gauge demand for new features.

Similar view from us. We try to batch discrete groups of expenses for a client's project (say all the llighting artefacts being bought for a client home fit out), and it would be great to have a field for given a unique identifier code to such costs and to sort by them / invoice for them in the project module

Hi community, we value your engagement in product ideas here. As you may have seen we've recently rolled out a new send experience in new invoicing.
With this new side-by-side view you'll find you can also CC and BCC other emails 🎉
While this feature is contained to new invoicing atm, we'll look at applying a similar experience to other areas of Xero that you can send from in the future, so we'll keep you updated of any further developments for this here. Thanks!

Any update please on being able to CC and BCC other emails for messages other than invoices?? I'd really value this for quotes. Not sure why you'd update for invoices only, but not all other communications?
Would be very powerful for our business too. We currently handle lots of 'batches' of goods for each project - essentially a closed loop of goods we order from suppliers and resell to our clients via their associated project. I have to track these batches in a project using post-script identification codes to discrete expense line items. Having a sub-grouping architecture would alleviate the need for this altogether.
