  2. Another product idea to suggest is to have Account transactions report account code GST control account to also show the related account
    For example invoice number and invoice amount on how the tax amount derives from.

  3. Kelly Munro shut down discussion on an idea I suggested, because she was under the mistaken impression that she had resolved the issue, which she had not. I suggested that it would be useful to be able to allocate payment of purchase invoice against overpayments and credits. While what Kelly suggested was correct - that this is possible to do when an invoice is first raised, it is only possible at this stage. It is not possible later.     Hi Heather, while maybe slightly brash do appreciate the feedback. 

    With your added detail we're happy to have the idea in the forums here that we can get a feel for the appetite on - You're always welcome to reply to an update I've shared on an idea too and we can review this. 


    Please understand it's not my intention to inhibit customer feedback, but will do our best to highlight and share places where features and capability in the product do exist but may just be unknown by users. 

  4. It would be useful to have some sort of 'notes' section within each bank account. We have several bank accounts for various purposes (mostly to use as 'savings' for various tax liabilities (for example, corporation tax, VAT etc)-but it would be useful, for managing cash and future liabilities to have a notes section to keep track of what is due and when, rather than having to do either run a VAT return or P+L every time I need to remind myself and how much needs to be put aside.

  5. Please consider adding templates in your quoting section , this is a simple but extremely helpful and time saving tool to have when quoting , saves huge time and at the end time is money.

    The inventory items in the templates need to automatically update with latest prices when utilized.

  6. Ability to add "description" column on the individual contacts page. We often need to look through a supplier/customer to quickly see what types of purchases/sales we make, so having descriptions on this page is needed. Currently we have to run a report which is an unnecessary long way around.

    Appreciate your feedback on the change from older reports to new. While we don't have any direct plans for making updates to the formatting of formulas when exporting to excel we have just made some updates to excel export of reports I wanted to highlight for you here, where we've;

    • Adjusted the default zoom from 150% to 100%, and slightly change the size of title and currency fonts to make the report easier to read
    • Made small changes to the formatting of cells in rows to create more consistency across the report

    We'll stay tuned into the support for other changes coming through the site here an let you know if there's any news on this, here.

  8. The need to have an occassional tax point date that is different from that of the invoice date has arisen, usually found in the retail sector, and there is not currently an ability to add the field to the sales invoice form. Can there be the ability to have this feature added, albeit a hidden one? Currently the work around is to create an invoice outside of Xero and send that version to the client, causing additional workload. We have been seeing this from vendors for years but the workaround there is entering in the tax point as the invoice…

  9. The new notes section is a good idea one of which I suggested however its really not very freindly to use.
    its buried at the end of the contact detail which means you have to navigate here.
    The window is far too small - want a lot larger window at least 3 times the current box size which would make it easy to see and edit.
    Would like it to appear on the invoice page so that one can see and edit as necessary when creating invoices.

    Hi Peter, good to get your feedback on this feature and though we appreciate hearing the changes you'd like to see it's good to keep each idea on a separate thread so we can get an understanding of the interest for each alone that the team can consider. 

    We have an idea surrounding the ability to view contact notes when invoicing over here that I'd recommend joining, and have adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect your first ask of moving this notes section somewhere it could be more readily edited on their record. You're welcome to start new ideas for each of the additional points you've made here. 

    1. Purchase orders reset to 'include GST' ever time you start a new PO. Why does it not just remember the last setting like invoicing does. (Or an option to lock it to a setting)

    2. Ability to add more information to invoices like customers phone number or email. It's an option. Saves warehouse staff or anyone having to look up the information. (At this time I use the country for the phone number and contact for the email)

  10. Expenses search and sort.

    If you only have access as a user and not full access to the accounts, searching past expenses is a painful experience.

    What a painful thing searching for expenses in Xero is.

    Can't filter by date range, or search for a particular description, or search by account. And they're in some unfathomable order which you can't sort by date.

    Suggestions: Sort by date option to help answer questions like 'did I remember to file that expense 3 months ago'

    Filter on date range: 'Show only expenses between January and March last year'.

    Search on description: List…

  11. When sending tax payment letters out via email it would be great to get an email if the address used is invalid. Like a bounce-back when you send an email from your usual email program. At the moment you have no idea if the client received the tax payment letter at all.

  13. The upgraded Quotes layout does not allow me to attach pdf's from the Files Section.
    The only way to do this now is to download pdf from Files. Open Quote and Save it. Upload pdf.

    This has significantly slowed down the workflow - please can Xero Quotes be able to add attachemnts from Files and before Saving.

    Hi everyone, while not completely solved, we've made a recent addition to the client export which now allows you to export the Subscriber Email. This should help provide a better view and filter your clients subscriptions through the export file. 

  16. The longer I use Xero the more supplier invoices it stores.
    When I use the recent bills report it takes so long to go back to the beginning 2015 in my case before it allows you to put in a date search.
    It would be great if we could have a function to archive old supplier and customer invoices- not losing them altogether but just in the background to be viewed if needed.

  18. When you're in the pay run screen, you can only download ALL payslips as one PDF file. We need to be able to download payslips by employee group so they can be sent to the individual managers of the employee groups for review/approval.

  19. Hiding Voided Pay Run from showing on the Main Pay Run Page.

    It will be great to have a functionality that allows you hide payruns that have been voided from showing on the main payrun list.

    When approved payruns cannot be edited, the only option is to void and create a new one. If a functionality can allow editing approved pay run, then there will be no need. But now, we need to have a function to hide the voided payruns.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and sharing how this idea could benefit your business. However, as you may have received recently communication of - We’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    This means that we don't have any plans for further development of our Global Pay Run product, and will move any ideas related to this on the site to Not planned.
