  1. Currently, Xero does not have the feature to determine who has made changes to a Superannuation Batch in Xero Superannuation. It would be helpful to have an Audit Trail moving forward, especially in situations where there is more than one Payroll Admin user in a file.

  2. It would be helpful to edit the layout of the Overview payroll dashboard, as you can do with the normal Xero accounting dashboard.

    I can't understand why the 'pay employees' widget is at the bottom, surely running payroll is the primary function so why isn't that at the top? Not all business use the leave and timesheet function, they should be considered secondary.

  4. Currently Xero does not assign annual leave and public holiday to a project/job as timesheet doesn't have this function.
    Superannuation generates from payroll (pay run) , however, there is no place to allocate superannuation to different projects/jobs as well.

  5. Approve employee leave requests directly from notification email.

    As a Leave Approver, I want to be approve or reject leave applications directly from the notification email so that I don't have to continually login.

  7. AUSTRALIA PAYROLL - Can we PLEASE have a separate Lock Date for Payroll. I have had many incidents where I have prepared an Activity Statement ( PAYG), and the client reverts a pay run to draft, makes a change AFTER THE ENDOF MONTH AND IAS CREATION, and then we have to re-calculate and re-submit IAS for signature.

    The lock date is unable to be added as the ACCOUNTS are still being reconciled, but the payroll is complete.

    This will also be extremely helpful at EOFY.

  8. Apparently this functionality is enabled on the AU payroll system, but not NZ!

    Essentially, it would be great if an employee's annual salary figure could be displayed on their payslips. Given that this is already an option within Xero Payroll for Australia, surely this is an easy addition for Xero Payroll for New Zealand.

  9. Allow users to change weekly SMP amount after a payrise to allow simple updates to extra SMP owing without having to delete all previous payruns back to the maternity leave start date.

  10. Could we have the ability to add the amount paid to a Deduction.

    (A staff member messaged me the other day asking if the $450 showing on his pay slip was the amount he had left to pay for tools deductions or the amount he had paid. After checking I saw it was the amount he had paid and he has $468.93 left to pay.)

    Q: Is there any way to add the amount he has left to pay for tools to the pay slip.

  11. Inside Xero Me, when you set your Timesheet type to "Start and end times" you can add notes for working days.

    It would be great if we could add notes when we have our Timesheet type set to "Total hours worked".

    As an employee, not being able to add a note & select an earning type is inconvenient and can cause confusion which leads to slower timesheet approvals

  12. It would be good if you could hide leave balances on individual employee payslips. The hide/show leave balances on payslips is a global setting applying to all employees. We have a scenario where the employ moved from part time to casual. They had leave balances as a part time employee, but don't have them as a casual but the zero leave balances still appear on their payslip.

  13. When a client fails to pay Superannuation Guarantee levy on time the employer should lodge a Super Guarantee charge form. Is it possible to develop a form where the affected employees can be printed & exported to excel to enable a simple "cut & paste"? If the ATO have started an investigation this can save many hours of work especially if the period covered is several years.

  14. The current screen and filters for Xero timesheet is not user-friendly. In particular, firstly, it would be great if the Employee Name filter allowed you to type and search. Secondly, if the Employee Name filter could include multiple names that would be useful.
    Lastly, not in the filters, but the tick boxes for each timesheet - if the tick box was bigger and next to the line, instead of in the timesheet line this would help. The way it is at the moment, it is too easy to accidentally go into a timesheet instead of ticking it to select for…

  15. When operating tracking income and expenses in two areas, payroll allows for the primary tracking category when setting up the employee and the time sheet allows the secondary tracking option to be selected.

    Currently the timesheet option only allows for the 'hours worked' to be allocated to the secondary tracking option. Any allowance can only be added at the pay run which means it cannot be added to the secondary tracking category.

    Can we have the ability to add allowances as an option in the timesheet?

  16. A report that shows current annual leave hours, plus leave available to take in advance hours for each employee. It's very time consuming to have to calculate leave if you want to give an employee leave in advance. Using the "show leave available to take in advance" option in the employee set up tends to give the wrong balances on the employee payslip which leads to confusion.

  19. At this stage Xero doesn't recognise if an Employee is on Unpaid Leave.

    Xero's default behaviour when an employee (that is assigned to a holiday group) submits a request for a period of Unpaid Leave spanning one or more public holidays, is to exclude those Public Holidays from the calculated Unpaid Leave hours.

    This has the effect of allocating those Public Holidays as paid hours in a pay-run rather than as unpaid hours. This is not consistent with the Fair Work Act (https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/public-holidays/not-working-on-public-holidays)

    If this is not picked up and adjusted before finalising a pay-run it can result…

  20. Have the option to accrue leave on other pay items. ie. Saturday rate has to be set up with its own rate per employee as each employee is on their own rate for Saturday and isn't a "mutplication of the ordinary rate". This also needs leave to accrue on it.
    Spoken to Xero adviser and they don't have a set up for this yet.
