Invoice - Total item quantity on invoice
Invoice - A total items line in invoices would be extremely helpful for our clients to be able to reconcile inventory sent with the invoice.

Bank Reconciliation - Date warning pop-up
When reconciling a bill that was paid on the same day a popup shows saying "The bill was raised after the payment you are reconciling to."
Would be nice if this basic logic was corrected and that message only shows if the bill was indeed raised in the future, not the same day.
Seems like an entry level software bug for a junior to fix.

Hubdoc - Choose Billable Expense or assign directly to Projects
Project Assigning in Hubdoc. It would be most useful if our accounting team could choose between a Billable Expense and Assign to a Project in Hubdoc. We have many small expenses that have to be assigned to projects, as the client has already paid in most cases. We have to find each one, which is a challenge, open the bill, and assign each one manually. It is so time-consuming. So much processing time. Please consider this, it would be so appreciated.

New invoicing - "add last items" adds last PAID items
I'm invoicing for June, and I'm clicking "add last items" so that I can copy and paste the descriptions, and it added the items from the last paid invoice and not the last invoice - I know because the last invoice had line items for May, and it added the line items from April. The May invoice for the client I'm invoicing is still open but the April one is paid and closed.
I just want the thing to do what it says on the box.

Sales - Search for Invoice by Description

I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.
I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.
Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able to find…

UK Payroll - Timesheet and Job Allocation Tracking categories
I have a tracking category for our job numbers to allocate hours to engineers' time on particular jobs.
I am struggling to find a simple timesheet/app that will sync with my tracking categories (also have one for employee group).
I'm considering using Projects but can't see there's a way to sync my job number / employee group categories to the projects module.
Anyone had any experience of this or a workaround? I currently use an app within gsuite, collating the data to download to a csv but not ideal and very manual when calculating hours.

NZ Payroll - Decimals on report to show in one section of report
The ability to show decimal places on one section of a report would be great. For example, to calculate a separate line on a profit and loss report and show a contribution % on it. The main report would show no decimal places, but the line showing the % would show, for example 45.5%. Would need the ability to choose how many decimal places (0, 1, 2, 3 to get 46%, 45.5%, 45.52%, 45.522%, etc)

Print receipts for batch payments
The ability to print receipts for batch payments is desperately needed.
Currently there is no way to print a receipt for batch payments. There is only the ability to email receipts or print deposit summary. Deposit summaries do not contain the level of detail that a receipt does.
Currently, to print receipts for payments recorded in a batch deposits you have to email the receipt to yourself first. Increased Early Plan pricing
I am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model.
I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs.

Invoices/Quotes - Customise link to view online, rather than showing the full URL
It would be great if you could customise what text is displayed with placeholders on the client end, for example, for the [online quote/invoice link] options, I'd rather they could be displayed simply the other end, instead of the long web link which looks a bit spammy...ie 'please access your quote here' - and it's 'here' that links - as a normal hyperlink would

Repeating Invoice Template: Date Placeholders to show as YYYY MM
In Recurring invoice templates provide date placeholders in numeric form, so you can format as YYYY MM, e.g. 2024 12, 2025 01, 2025 02 etc. Rather than the most similar option of 2024 December. This would also be beneficial within the decriptions of the lines to show dates from/to e.g 2024-12-03 to 2025-01-02 (for a monthly subscribtion or similar), instead of it populating as 2024-December-03 to 2025-January-02.

AU Payroll - Company logo to appear on payslip email
Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?
At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

Add an additional column to Sales Invoice & a PO Number field
We need to have the ability to add an additional column to the Sales Invoice Template.
When we are already utilising the Item and Description column, we for example need to add a Barcode field as well. I would presume that this is a frequent requirement for other businesses.

Quotes - Make 'invalid account' warnings appear in a new window
When entering a quote, we have to enter an account code for every line of a quote. If we type one in incorrectly (for example entering code 2000 instead of 200), then Xero opens a link to add account codes. The problem is that this does this in the same window. You cannot go back to your 38 line quote that you spent nearly a half hour creating because Xero didn't open a new window, no they put the link to new account codes in the same window as the quote. Bills - Tax Amount value button for quick +/- adjustments
When entering a new bill, sometimes the VAT value is out by a few pence.
A spinner button added to the 'Tax Amount' column to quickly increase or decrease the value rather than having to delete and retype would be convenient.

Export invoice
A feature to export the status of outstanding invoices/overview in PDF Format. Currently its only available on Excel format.
2 votesWould this be so you can get the Overdue by column, Kristel? If that column isn't really a concern, you could run the Receivable Invoice Summary report atm and filter this by Status = Approved to get all but the Overdue by column. This report can be exported to Excel, Google Sheets or PDF.

Projects - Keep items in the same order when invoicing
When creating an invoice from a project-keep items in the same order as they appear in the project. It is very confusing when all the items are in different places than they were in the project and I have to reorder everything.

- In the old invoicing format you used to be able to add in the due by date by 'shift + 30' and it would automatically fill in the date 30 days time. Now you have to go into a dropdown menu.
- When scrolling through customers you need to get to the bottom of the page before selecting the next page or extending it to 100 / 200 per page. Could this be listed at the top and bottom of the page to prevent you from having to scroll all the time?
