  1. It would be fantastic and much more efficient if the bulk uploading of bills allowed for the bills to be entered by individual line item.
    At the moment it gives one line, without a description- with the grand total of the bill which defeats a lot of the purpose of being able to bulk upload bills, as they still need to be manually adjusted.
    Xero have already shown it has the ability to extract data from a bill but haven't taken the feature to it's full potential

  2. The maximum of 250 historic payslips needs to be removed, or an option to turn it on or off in settings.

    In legal forensic review work this is imperative.

    While you can create a transaction report beyond 250 payslips, this does not provide the ability to identify the actual incorrect inputs by someone historically beyond the 250 limit.

    There must be a simple setting in the background you can change or update, as when you add a new payslip, the earliest, previous payslip just drops off.

    DO it NOW please.

    Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster. 

    That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

  4. Material only bills to be included on the CIS monthly return report to make it easier to reconcile the CIS materials nominal code to the report, confirming that all invoices have been included in the report.

  5. Tronc pay item to be set up as PAYE applied only. Currently there are 2 options but one has PAYE and pension applied, the other has PAYE, NI and pension applied.
    The standard Tronc set up is PAYE only, yet there is not pay item for this.

  6. When I invoice my client for expenses our staff have incurred which they have tagged as reimbursable by the client using the "billable expenses" feature, add the receipts attached to the items I am billing to the invoice. All clients expect the receipts to be attached and they are all in Xero, at the moment I have to laboriously manage them separately.

  7. Make all features available on phone app that are available on pc / laptops.

    There’s various basic functions that cannot be done on the Xero app designed for phones. Many small business users who are on the road for work want to action expenses and invoices as they go and have the same functionality on their phone as the laptop. Features are currently missing e.g:
    - adding a discount to an invoice
    - adding a category
    - deleting a quote
    And much more. It would be great to be able to do everything on your phone.

  8. …to assign expenses, including purchase invoices and expense claims, to specific tasks within projects rather than grouping them all together.

    The purpose of this is to gain a better overview and to organize expenses based on individual tasks.

    The Project module in Business Central 365 is built in a very efficient way, and some of its simple features could be applied in Xero to give users a better overview of hours and expenses within projects — including those spent, to be invoiced, and already invoiced.

    I am a regular user of the Xero Cloud Portal and appreciate the platform's intuitive features for managing business finances.

    However, I am currently facing a challenge when reconciling bank transactions. I frequently receive bulk deposits that are made up of a large number of small invoices—often exceeding 100. Unfortunately, Xero's current system limits me to matching only up to 100 invoices against a single deposit. This creates a significant bottleneck in my reconciliation process and affects my workflow efficiency.

  10. Please restore Tracking Categories to a high level and intuitive menu location. It used to be two clicks away in the Business menu but is now buried under Accounting>Accounting Settings>Accounting>Tracking Categories. We use this to create job codes on a regular basis. I had to ask Grok where it had gone as your Help section couldn't tell me.
    And while you're at it make the SAVE button more obvious - you have to scroll down to see it after creating a new job code. Awful UI, not "beautiful"

  11. On the make payments page of batch payments allow for a split screen so you can review submitted invoices to either check bank account details or add bank account details of new contacts without having to jump between pages/screens.

  12. Bulk Actions for Expenses: Restore Submit/Approve Many. With the retirement of Classic Expenses, a major efficiency feature has been lost: the ability to process expense claims in bulk.
    The Problem: Currently, each individual expense claim must be opened, reviewed, and actioned one-by-one. For anyone who needs to approve 20 claims at the end of the week, this is an incredibly tedious and time-consuming process. What was once a 30-second task now takes many times longer.
    The Solution: Reintroduce checkboxes and a bulk action menu to the expense claims overview screen. This would allow users to:

  13. Re-introduce Vendor Auto-fill in New Expenses to Save Time & Prevent Data Duplication. The new Expenses experience is missing the vendor auto-fill/suggestion feature that existed in Classic Expenses. This is a critical time-saving tool that also prevents the creation of duplicate vendor records due to minor spelling variations or typos. Re-adding this feature would greatly improve efficiency and data hygiene.

  15. Classic view invoicng compared to the new view invoicing. The new version shows figures entered as 123456789.00 but Classic View correctly shows 123,456,789.00. All figures should be shown in 123,456,789.00 format. It's accounting after all! This is not a suggestion, this should be a bug fix, especially before new invoicing is enforced.

    In the meantime, the History and Notes report can be filtered to show just changes to the Chart of Accounts for a set period so could be a useful tool.

When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?

    Thanks for your feedback on navigation shortcuts. We appreciate you explaining how important quick access to Tracking Categories and Fixed Assets is for your workflow. You should see Fixed Assets within the Accounting menu already. However, you are correct that accessing Tracking Categories requires an additional click and are shown under the Accounting Settings option.

    In the meantime, if you are looking at a specific contact then you may like to view the invoices via the contacts screen for that contact as here you can add a column for the total invoice amount.

    I’d like to raise a feature request regarding how invoice totals are displayed in Xero.

    Currently, the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Sent, and Awaiting Payment invoice lists always display totals on a GST (tax) inclusive basis. For businesses like ours that operate and report primarily on a GST-exclusive basis, this creates unnecessary reconciliation effort and increases the risk of error when reviewing invoices in bulk.

    While we can work around this by using the Receivable Invoice Detail report set to “Tax Exclusive,” this adds extra steps and does not provide the same quick visibility as the…
