  1. I'd like to suggest a feature enhancement for the invoicing system. When adding new line items from our saved parts catalog, it would be incredibly useful if we could update the price of a product directly on the invoice, and have that new price saved permanently to the in our inventory product code. This way, we can ensure that our part prices are always up-to-date without the need to manually update them in multiple places. This would be really helpful for business that have a lot of different part numbers or product codes from multiple suppliers.

    Thanks for sharing, Steven. Not something we have plans for just atm.

    Out of interest would you expect existing invoices where you have used this item to be updated with the price as well or only subsequent invoices?

  2. Where have the GST due dates gone from the new GST Return layout?

    Also would it be viable for Xero to default no GST for transactions up to a certain date considering some businesses are registered from any point during a month.

  4. Can you please post up instructions on how business owners can setup novated leases for their employees and also identifying the process where the vehicle is FBT exempt or subject to FBT. We have had a few of our clients ask why Xero doesn't provide much guidance regarding this issue.

  5. The PO number space under Purchase Order View is limited, we cannot view our full PO number, refer to picture

    Please extend the column, else Xero should restrict the maximum allowance length for PO number format.

  6. Great that New Invoicing can now add attachments from the Inbox - Yay

    BUT, the key functionality of being able to return the file to the inbox when it is removed from the invoice is still missing. Removing an attachment from an invoice DELETES it, Gone. Cannot be recovered.
    Tip: ALWAYS Download your attachments before removing them from invoices, regardless of Needing them.

    Hi team, appreciate the feedback we've received on this, here. While I've made sure to share the needs back with our team, I also wanted to highlight how you can make sure you keep a copy of your file in your library for now. 

    If you shift files to a folder when you upload them to Xero, they will remain in the folder once you add them to a new invoice. So, this way you have it both attached to the invoice and available in the files library. 

  7. What happend -
    I imported invoices with an invalid account number. When I went to review the imported invoices in draft, the new invoicing AI technology selected suggested account codes for me, almost to fast for me to notice the account code was blank

    Why this is important -
    The "review draft invoices after import" step is critical in getting it right - I should be able to review exactly what I imported to see where the mistakes are. I can see this being an issue with integrations where invoices are imported via the API

  8. It would be great to apply the Customers general discount (as set on their Contact Card) to only specified product items, not all product items. e.g. I don't want the Customers discount applied to say my Freight or Labour product items, but I do want to apply it to other products items we are selling.

    I would envisage a Tick Box on each Product card that we can tick, or untick, for the Customers Discount to be applied to it (by default it would be ticked to apply the Customers Discount).

  10. Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

  11. Previously if you emailed an invoice or statemt to a client it showed up as such in History for that client. Recently this appears to have changed and all that shows in History is "Updated". Not very helpful as it is important to know when one last emailed an invoice or statement.

  12. Automated bank rule reconciliation.

    A choice for a bank rule to be automatically reconciled - once created a option to select if you wish for the bank rule to be reconciled to remove the need for manual reconcile.

    This would be ideal for monthly direct debits and standing orders e.g. bank charges, drawings

  14. UK Payroll - allow employers who have received SMP advance funding to enter the amount received so that the SMP paid is not recovered, and the correct amount owing to HMRC shows on the Taxes and Filings page.

  15. When creating invoices there should be a box that when ticked adds the invoice to an email cue. So that at the end of the day you can send the invoices you made and ticked that day to customers. It's really annoying having the invoices separated into several different sections and then having to go and select each individual customer to then send the emails to.

  16. On the PDF invoices, Xero automatically CAPITALIZES the entire town/city name, even in my custom invoicing template. It looks unprofessional and I want it to go away. I've avoided this by typing all new addresses on the first line, but I have imported hundreds of contacts into Xero and I don't want to go in and change every single one of them.

  18. Expenses, the Categories field should be wide enough to display the text on the website. Note that the mobile app works fine.
    Or there should be the ability to nest categories.
    As a web developer, widening the Categories field should be trivial. Apparently not according to Xero support....

  19. When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
    The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
    The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.

    Hi community, I'm pleased to share with you that the Product team are investigating the first part of this idea - to copy invoice data to a purchase order in new invoicing. There's a few other bits of work lined up before they get to this but we'll be sure to return with an update on progress once there's more news 📰 

    As for the second function raised here, when you raise an invoice from Projects that includes tasks, time entries or expenses, if you change the project field on new invoicing the connection with Projects will be removed. To correct this, you can either void/delete the invoice and recreate it from the project or manually mark the time entry/task/cost as invoiced.

  20. Is it possible to send sales invoices or statements to a customers mobile number as a text message instead of an email address. I feel sure that so many end up in junk boxes.
