draft bills bulk upload
the ability to bulk upload documents in draft bills
2 votesHi Katrina, when you say you'd like to bulk attach documents - would this be adding the same attachments to multiple bills at once or bulk adding attachments within a singular draft bill?

New bill section - Overpayments/ older bills
Under the Bills and Invoices sections, could separate categories be introduced for overpayments and older bills from prior quarters? This would help declutter the Awaiting Payment section, especially for businesses with long credit terms, where bills may remain unpaid for several months.

UK Payroll - Average Employee Numbers in the Year
Average Employee Numbers in the Year
As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

Search Engine Optimisation - More intuitive
I would appreciate the Search engine to be reverted back to how it was. The new "upgraded" search is close to useless. When I search for clients, I expect all relevant clients to come up. I don't want to type in the whole client name, just to get their details to show up. Previously I could type in a few letters and the search would come up with an amazing list of relevance....
1. Contact listed first
2. Invoices listed next
3. Bills listed thereafter
4. then lastly bank transactionsThese searches used to come up with appropriate information and…

Invoice Email - Ability to edit "Review and pay" banner
The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

Bank Reconciliation - Allow the Tax Setting to Default to Tax Exclusive
When creating new 'spend money' transactions during bank reconciliation, allow the tax setting to match the tax setting in financial settings, if set to tax exclusive, so that it doesn't just default to tax inclusive.

Reporting - Flag when actual Retained Earnings doesn't match to the report value
A flag which shows when the profit & loss figure plus brought forward retained earnings does not add up to the retained earnings on the reports. This is usually due to a mapping issue where a figure is causing a transposition error. It only seems to flag if you opt to include a statement of changes to equity. Seems like there should be a more obvious flag for this issue to ensure it is not missed.
Also perhaps a reconciliation between the profit & loss figure in the company accounts versus the Xero business, appreciate this is likely to be…3 votes -
User Roles - Purchase order only access
We wish to let some of our users have access to purchase orders, raising & viewing etc.
Currently if we give them access to purchase orders it also lets them see supplier balances and also click into the supplier and therefore into the accounts i.e invoices etc.
We would like our staff to just see the purchase orders and raise purchase orders but not have access to anything else.

New invoicing | Online invoice - View supplier ABN
Why does the Supplier ABN not appear on the online invoice view? We now have to download the invoice as a PDF to see the ABN. This was not an issue with the Classic view.

Notes - Ability to Tag users
It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful4 votes -
Bank Feeds - Bank feeds from Macquarie Bank
Ive moved form Quickbooks to Xero (I guess this is common).
Xero does not accept bank feeds from Macquarie Banks - Offset Accounts.
It's very frustrating to manually have to import bank statements every month and I would love if they could please collaborate so it can occurs. It makes it tedious for my business and I lose hours trying to do it every time.Cheers

Bug or Missing Feature Reporting
There is nowhere to report missing features and bugs apart from this forum, which is more for ideas.
I have found it difficult to find a place to report an issue quickly.
For new invoicing the list of missing features and bugs should be reported so we can see what has already been picked up and what is being worked on and fixed.6 votesHI Jill, appreciate you posting here, not knowing where else to go.
For something that appears to not be working as it should or where you're having performance issues in Xero - these are best to raise with our specialists at Xero Support where we have tools to investigate, triage any issues and escalate with our team if needed.
When it comes to new invoicing we've communicated a lot of the changes and what's coming up through our Xero central page here. Otherwise, you'll also find many ideas for changes across product ideas here that I'd recommend joining for updates where you're interested. Searching 'New invoicing' on the main page of the site should help you find a list of the different features.

New invoicing - Untick sent when invoice is edited
New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know
7 votesThanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.
In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.
While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.

Contacts - Allow multiple addresses for a single contact record
Ability to create and save multiple addresses for a single contact record
Purpose: Allow customers to map customer & supplier details against a single contact record
1,151 votesHi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback.
As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future.
We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on.
One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this.…

Make reference field editable even if the only available option now is "Remove and redo".
Make reference field editable even if the only available option now is "Remove and redo". Often when viewing the account register questions arise that could be prevented by being able to edit the "Reference" field. Currently, the only way to add a reference is "Remove and Redo" which can be quite the process.

Tracking - Sub-category under options
Can we please add the ability to set up a sub-category under category options?
For instance, we have already tracking categories by store locations (i.e. Loc 1, Loc 2, Loc 3). However, we need to have a sub-category per Deputy's area (i.e. FOH, BOH) under the store locations.
Category option: Loc 1 (Store Location)
Sub-category option: FOH, BOH (Area)If we could set up a sub-category under tracking options, that would be great. Thank you!

Payables report by planned date
Hi Guys,
Is there an option for us to general a payable report by the planned date?
1 voteHi Kai, you can run the Payable Invoice Summary report which has the ability to include Planned Date as a column, or you can also choose to group by this field if you'd prefer - Does this achieve what you're in need of here?

Invoicing - Draft Invoice Payment link
It would help if you could add a payment link on Draft Invoices, customers could pay before the order is manufactured or picked then you approve it and allocate the payment. We send out a lot of invoices that need to be paid before delivery, if we have to send out approved ones and they do not pay we have to remember to go in and delete the invoice. If they were in drafts you could look at draft invoices and know exactly who has not paid.

Stripe - Pass full fee amount to customer
For volume based businesses, we lose money (30c per transaction) on the stripe fee we pay vs what we can pass onto the customer (because there's no option currently to just pass on the full fee, just a %). That % can't legally be higher than what we are charged, and we can't add the 30c fee to the % anywhere in settings. When we're processing 1,000 transactions per month, we lose $300 to fees. For a small business, this isn't justifiable. Most small businesses that have high volumes are low cost, so they rely on volume of sales to…
