  1. It would help if you could add a payment link on Draft Invoices, customers could pay before the order is manufactured or picked then you approve it and allocate the payment. We send out a lot of invoices that need to be paid before delivery, if we have to send out approved ones and they do not pay we have to remember to go in and delete the invoice. If they were in drafts you could look at draft invoices and know exactly who has not paid.

For volume based businesses, we lose money (30c per transaction) on the stripe fee we pay vs what we can pass onto the customer (because there's no option currently to just pass on the full fee, just a %). That % can't legally be higher than what we are charged, and we can't add the 30c fee to the % anywhere in settings. When we're processing 1,000 transactions per month, we lose $300 to fees.   4. When entering expense claims, the program should be set to retain the date entered in the last expense claim item. When catching up on accounting, it is cumbersome to be working on July in December and have to go back and change the entire date for each entry. I should be able to retain the last entry date on the next and simply be able to edit the day.

  5. We use the Billable Expense function on Xero. However, we find it impractical when it comes to allocating the billable expenses. This is because we are unable to see the full description of the expense in the allocation pop-up screen and this results in incorrect allocations.

    If the description column can be dragged to resize it, or include a scroll function, then incorrect allocations can be avoided.

  6. Please can Xero add an Employee 'Known As' Name Field to the Employee Record, and show this alongside the legal name, on the Employees Homepage (& when running payroll) with the ability to sort alphabetically by this 'known as' name in both places.
    Nearly half of our employees go by names that are not their legal name. e.g. Annie = Kit Yee, Kate = Catherine, or go by their middle name instead of their first name.

    This issue is making running payroll ever more difficult and the potential for error incredibly high, as often the legal name bears no resemblance…

  7. eInvoice option should be able to be set in a clients contact card much like the Xero to Xero network key or as an option where these options are when emailing the invoice.
    Include files as attachments
    Include PDF attachment
    Send me a copy (Email Address)
    I feel that the new changes have made things slower for Clients and bookkeeper's
    Some of the updates are not as straight forward.

  8. Please put the customer's payments on the activity page so it is easier to see what payments went to which invoices. Seeing that an invoice is paid isn't enough information if the customer has questions. It would be nice to see WHICH payment is applied to an invoice.

  9. At the moment Zero Rated GST can only be applied to Revenue items on the Chart of Accounts. When we deal with a property sale between GST registsred parties, the sale is also zero rated for GST purposes. We need the option to apply the 0% GST rate to asset codes as well as revenue codes. At the moment, we have to do a manual workaround.

  10. I've received multiple calls from customers who were confused when trying to find my bank account details on the online invoice. They couldn’t see the bank account details immediately on the view after clicking the "Review and Pay" or "View your bill online" link in the Xero email. Initially, the invoice shows only the Stripe payment option, and customers must click "View Invoice Details" to see my bank account information. This setup is confusing and not straightforward for customers!

  11. Xero has removed the ability for casual employees to apply for annual leave if that leave is available to them. Annual leave is part of my casual employees employment contracts. The employees and I have agreed that they will receive annual leave and sick leave.

    These leave types were catered for in the past and the employees were able to apply for them when required. Now, despite still accruing those leave types, they are unable to apply for them.

  13. Invoices submitted by contractors - Xero should have a tick box where we can tick 'I need to pay super on this invoice' and it tracks and records contractor super owing.

  14. In old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed.

    Hi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here.

    I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice.

    If you can raise a case with our team of specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of this page, they can get more detail to investigate and confirm.

  15. can you make the selection of multiple files possible when adding images to invoices please. i have to navigate to my phones picture folder when i am invoicing out my expenses for the month. i have to attach copies of my receipts to the invoice and its painful only being able to add them one at a time.

  16. Stop "Mark as sent" pop-up for every invoice. When making multiple new invoices, this pop-up occurs for each invoice made, no matter if reminders are turned off. This is new, started April 2024, and XERO support states there is no way to turn this off.

  19. Move the "add last items" in the invoicing screen. Half the time the Billable items button comes up first in its place, but then moves to a lower point on the screen. The problem is if you click on it before it moves to the lower point on screen or just as it does, you end up with the last invoiced items on the invoice that you don't want.

  20. We create multiple invoices with deferred income. Currently I can approve the sales invoice then under "Invoice Options" copy to a new invoice and all the data is pulled over. I can then adjust the nominal ledger to the balance sheet and approve that, then again from the "Invoice Options" I can add a credit note to the P&L. I can then copy again to create a new sales invoice for the date when the income is due to the P&L and create that and once again add a credit note to credit the balance sheet. I realise this might…

    Thanks for sharing your feedback and the detail on how you use invoicing here. Just to make sure I understand fully and can share back with the team - when you say you want to retain all the data. It is currently possible to copy an invoice to a new draft invoice for the same contact, however is it that you are wanting the contacts defaults to be applied to the new invoice?
