Need to be able to accumulate annual leave and sick leave when an employee has to rates of pay for example: working in two departments - one pay 24.50hr and the other department pays $24.17hr, currently Xero does not accumulate pay on multiple ordinary hours pay rates, one has to be and overtime rate using multiple of hours how can you do this for a rate with a difference of 33c. I also have the same issue with an employee who works week days at one rate, saturdays at another rate and sundays at a third rate. - I have…

  3. It would be great to be able change the e-mail address where files or bills are sent to Xero to simplify it?

    Currently the e-mail address is long and without context and cannot be linked to a specific client outside of Xero in for example Outlook or Gmail.

    An "alias" e-mail address would be helpful.

  4. Sales Tax exempt form management in the U.S.A. Currently every year we have to manually ask and upload customers sales tax exempt certificates and update their tax status so we charge or don't charge sales tax. Would be nice to have a some sort of system where the customer is notified once a year and self uploads their tax exempt certificate which is linked to thier contact information. This would save alot of hours.

We have global sized clients who issue us with contracts that need to be set up as separate entities under the same business name. you would think that the unique reference number box would work in tandem with the primary business contact name. This is especially important when setting up repeating invoices. I currently put the business name eg: Boxspan National and add a sub heading eg: Boxspan National [Diamond Project] . Now we have been advised that we can no longer do that as their accounting software will not pull the invoice through to the correct business entity. If…

  6. Changing an employee's surname due to marriage, for example, changes their details for historical payslips and all other payroll historical reports. Could a field be added perhaps that allows for 'maiden name' or 'previously known as' without disrupting historical info?

  7. In the upcoming new Fixed Assets layout/section, if you sort a heading (Asset name, asset number etc.) it only remains for that particular session, if you close out, it'll default back to sorting via the Purchase Date when you re-open.

    Proposing this remembers what the user selected.

    Also if you select "Items per page" it only displays that amount of items for that session, then defaults back to 10 after re-opening.

    Please make it remember the user's chosen setting.

  8. When viewing historic employees, being able to view the next historic employee would be great, rather than having to come back out of history employees, which only shows the historic employee you have selected, with a drop down list of current employees only, then you have to go back in again to employees/history again to look up the next historic employee

  10. Xero now has a vast database of businesses many of which are profitable, and many of which are probably less so. At any rate, it has access many savvy business individuals who have capital willing to invest within and outside of their boarders. Perhaps it could create a meeting place for willing buyers and sellers of businesses. I for one am ready to retire. My business is marginal but has opportunities for someone who wants to get into my domestic market.

    Very interesting idea, Myles. It's not something that exists atm, but I've shared back with our team that manage our website. We'll keep an eye on the interest from others in this here and let you know if there's any updates to share.

  11. Amend the Standard user level to have the ability to delete draft asset draft transactions. If an invoice has been incorrectly entered and allocated to asset account and the information pushed through to draft assets, the standard user, who made the error should be able to correct it. They are able to correct the invoice side of things, but this does not remove it from the draft asset list, and they are unable to delete. Standard users have the permissions to delete draft bills and invoices, and even bank lines and statements.. but not draft assets?

  12. The attached 'Supplier Statement' report has been 'retired'. Please consider reinstating this in Xero. We buy in euro and for financial audit purposes at every year end we need to issue this report. There is now nothing like this on Xero which makes no sense as we can't report without a mass of manual work to make a report outside of Xero.

  13. If the VAT201 report endpoint is added to the Xero API, it could save businesses doing the reconciliation for their clients and their tax returns. The report could then be saved directly to an excel document based on specific dates and this could lead to hours of time being saved for the people doing the recon.

    Hi Lukasz, what payment provider do you use? Just incase you haven't seen we've launched Tap to Pay powered by Stripe which is now available in a few different regions.

    In terms of connecting to direct payment terminals, this would typically be through an integration. We don't generally develop integrations with applications ourselves however you may want to see if there's an integration in the app marketplace that works with your provider and could offer the services you're after here.

  15. A way to mark contacts as " preferred suppliers",( traffic light colours?) and a way to attach a document to this contact such as a hire agreement/ contract/ agreed rates/insurance documents etc.

    Interesting idea around being able to mark suppliers as preferred, Catherine. It'll be good to get an understanding of the interest in this here.

    In terms of contracts, you can currently upload files to a contacts record which is where you could upload any contract, hire agreements, rates etc.

  16. Hi I need a detailed report like the Payroll transaction list report that also includes the account code the amount was posted too. I want to reconcile the journal posting to the Indvidual's so i can see who is incorrectly setup.

Update the search box to allow for search phrases to rank within the search box...not just exact matches. it's not particularly beneficial for a search query to result ONLY the exact match if you're searching for a match and probably don't know the exact phrase for a contact/business/customer.

    For example,

    "Jack Jones" produces no results when the contact is actually "John Jones".

    Searching "Jack Jones" should produce a result with all contacts that include either "jack" or "jones". Producing no results is not an accurate representation of the total database.

    Hi community, we'd like to confirm that enabling phone numbers to be stored against additional people within a contact record is not something we have plans to develop at this time. This may be a function we look to explore in the long-term so we're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here. If there's any change we will let you know on on this idea.

  20. I Also, when will we get the stop function in Xero? I've been asking Xero for 6 years. I know you can restrict invoices by credit limit but, customers could be well under their limit but overdue in paying. A stop function is critical to any accounting system.
