Contacts - Different default email addresses for different transactions in Xero
Ability to allocate different transactions to different email addresses.
Purpose: Because it’ll make users’ workflow easier when they’re dealing with the contacts that have different departments.

Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.
Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.
While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.
Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.
We do regularly review all ideas here, and your input is vital. We'll update you if anything changes. Thanks

Absolutely essential, such a pain to work around and keep getting told off by customers when a statement slips through to the invoicing email address.

Nowadays it is common when invoices processed through AP recognition system automatically (from a special mailbox) when the Accounts Payable team used different mailbox to monitor payment query or Statement of Account. More and more suppliers ask to send invoices and SOA to separate emails.
At this stage, it’s not possible on Xero to set up multiple email addresses for a contact to send invoices and statement of accounts (SOA) to separate email addresses. You could add additional people in a contact record. However, you would need to manually go to an invoice and select 'Email' and manually enter the email address and this would be the case for sending a SOA as well.
It would be handy to be able to have set up on Contact for invoices to go (only - but not Statement) when Statement goes to Accounts Payable email address (different from invoices). -

Sage 200 which I am used to using has the ability to assign contacts to different tasks, eg one for invoices, another for statements. This is a really useful feature which Xero is lacking.

Can't believe this still hasn't been sorted by Xero. We have multiple project managers requesting quote, from within the same companies and even within the same departments. But they don't want to receive the invoices or the automatic reminders. We have had complaints from our clients about this. We also often have multiple jobs running for the same company at the same time. The default contact gets everything whether it's their project or not. Constantly having to change the default but this is still not enough to avoid the automatic reminders etc going to the wrong person.
THE RADIO SILANCE FROM XERO IS SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. -

Please can you look at implementing this?
In the Contacts page you could have a separate field for email addresses for Invoices (example accounts dep), and a separate one for Quotes, it would make so much sense! Please can someone reply from Xero? This just needs a little work from your IT team. Kindest Regards Sarb. -

Please can you look at implementing this, For Example, If I am sending an invoice, every time, I have to delete the persons that I need in there for quotes (and vice Versa with quotes)? In most cases, I delete the relevant persons, but on some occasions, I end up sending them to all departments, which is frustrating for all concerned.

Is it possible to set up contacts so a specific contact can be allocated as the address for remittance advices. Currently the remittance advices are forwarded to all contacts on the that are flagged on the email list.

Or at least make the address preview window larger so you can easily see if you have multiple e-mail addresses

Invoices go to AP email address which is the default one and Remittance Advice is required by some customers to be sent to AR department or a different person altogether which is a different email. Please provide this capability as its imperative.

How is this not possible already? We have this problem on every invoice, then when we update the company contact the reminders for other invoices to the same customer go to the wrong person in the customer company. It's not only an annoyance when sending invoices, it reflects poorly on us when our customers have to tell us that our accounting software is giving them reminders for a project they weren't involved with. Please fix this ASAP!

I still have to manually change the email for a contact depending on if i am send a quote of invoice. Seems like a very simple feature to implement...

Wow, this still hasnt been done!
Invoices to one, statements to another for sales.
And now purchase orders are able to be done in the app. This is finally available but we need to be able to set email addresses for our billers to either receive purchase orders or remittance advice and it could autofill the correct one.
