Bills - Pay Bill electronically from within Xero

Ability to automatically pay supplier bills from within Xero, withouth having to login to online banking.

Purpose: To make it easier to pay bills, rather than having to jump between two different platforms.

Hi team, we pleased to share that we've released some more features, enabling more users to pay suppliers without logging into your bank!

For our UK customers we've made paying overseas suppliers easier with international bill payments.

Using open banking, you can now securely send money to 180+ countries including Europe (EUR), America (USD) and Australia (AUD). So you don't have to juggle multiple platforms or hidden fees. Whether you're paying a single bill or multiple bills at once, authorise payments prepared by your team and easily track which suppliers have been paid.


We've also just launched bill payments in Xero for customers in the US, powered by BILL.

You can make simple, secure payments directly from Xero. You'll be able to authorize payments prepared by your team, and easily track which vendors have been paid. Plus, gain access to millions of vendors over the BILLTM network, and vendors can choose how they want to be paid. With no recurring subscription fees (aside from your Xero plan), you only pay per transaction.

    To deposit a payment directly to a supplier's bank account is an important method to process bill payment for any business. I believe that you know EFT 80 Byte File Layout mandatories in Canada, but the batch file export from Xero does not meet the requirement. You should have a plan to service EFT ASAP.

    We do this all the time by making a batch payment of just one transaction. Works well with Kiwibank at least.

    I understand the complexities/barriers with electronic bill payments, however, if in partnership with Stripe you could facilitate a way to initiate ACH from within Xero you would negate the need for 3rd party apps like bill.com that dramatically undermine the experience of using Xero in the first place. I chose Xero over Quickbooks because of the seamless integrations and web-native structure. Phantom transactions that arise, sync errors that cannot be resolved, countless times bill.com has created an error in my accounting ultimately reflects on my xero user experience. Please do something to alleviate the difficulty of 3rd party bill payment apps.

    With so many new FinTechs like AirWallex, Wise, OFX, the neobanks etc I'm just surprised none of them are doing it - would be a massive differentiator for them, and make much stickier for customers.

    Every business unit has to deal with Accounts Payable on a repetitive basis and to be able to pay bills from Xero will go a long way to automate in Xero seamlessly for AP processes.

    How about the cash flow status.. because some time will delay due to cash flow status.

    Have been using the NAB connected feature and super disappointed to find out that it's going to disappear. But would be good to have something that works for most / all banks.

    I would rather have an integrated bill pay platform within Xero than pay for another 3rd party login (QB offers integrated bill pay - that's the only thing I miss from there.)

    Have you considered using a third party for this? Eg Pay with Wise
