When needing to add a row on invoicing you need to go all the way down to the bottom.
It would be good to be able to add a row at any point of the invoice not just at the bottom, especially when you have a big invoice with multiple line items, and you need to add something toward the top of the invoice, you have to go down to the bottom and then drag the line all the way up to where it needs to be.

Our invoices are typically 50 to 150 rows long, thus adding a row(or often multiple rows) at the bottom and having to drag them all the way to the top is a nightmare! This should be a very simple add and in accounting software something I would consider part of the core product. Same applies to Quotes, Bills, etc!

When preparing an invoice (or quote) quite often we can have between 50 and 100 rows. If a line item needs to be inserted at the top we require an option to "INSERT" a row and not have to add a row at the bottom and drag 90 odd rows up.

I cannot understand why this efatuire was taken away ! I now know how extra lines can be added to a new invoice (although it is more of a nuisance than an enhancement) but I have no idea how an extra line can be added if editing an invoice. That's where the 'Add line' button is mostly missed.

We really need this feature as it is very time consuming, we draft up large invoices and when we come back to them we have to add down the bottom and then drag them up to find the correct spot in the invoice. We definitely need to be able to add a line anywhere in the invoice.

The drop and drag is very time consuming if say , you have 5days on the invoice and you itemise the activity by day, each having sales of 20 lines lines for each day so you have 100 lines on the invoice and then you are handed 6 invoices that relate to day one , you have to add 5 blank lines at the bottom and then drag them to the correct spot at the top of the invoice , this is not easy and very time consuming . it would make a lot of sense to have add a line plus symbol that inserts it above or below the location you press the plus symbol to the far left of the invoice transaction line for example. Its the only real missing convenience I can see at this point in time, with the new invoicing rollout. I have come to appreciate a lot of the functionality now.. it is an improvement for sure.

Alas drag and drop does not work on an ipad. Even having a '+' between two lines that can be clicked to add a line - similar to adding lines to tables in other software.

Can there be an option added to add a new line anywhere in the invoice screen? Rather then having to go down to the bottom of the screen and drag up to the position where we want it to sit?

Is it possible to create the "add line" feature to add a line at any part of the invoice as opposed to scrolling down to the bottom of the invoice, adding line, then having to drag new line to where you want it in the invoice. I have a number of line items on my invoices and find this step quite consuming. Whereas having the functionality to be able to add a line to wherever you are on the invoice, I can continue to work down my invoice without the scrolling and dragging of up and down.

This would be much better. I have recently moved to Xero from Sage and am finding this very frustrating.

If this issue was first flagged over a year and a half ago, and it still hasn't changed, I'm getting really fed up with Xero!

The abillity to insert a line while invoicing would be a great time saver.

Rather than having to add a line at the bottom and redo the invoice from the bottom up to where you want the new line.

For us this often happens as we build an invoice from data provided through timesheets, jobsheets etc as we may have to add an item code into the relevant area of the invoice.

we often have very large invoices with pages of sales lines and can be quite time consuming when needing to add a new line in between existing ones

When you have an invoice that is hundreds of lines long dragging from the bottom is so time consuming. To be able to add a column where it is actually needed by right clicking would be so helpful.

Yes please - I spend far too much time doing this mindnumbing insertion process.

Hi Community, we need to have the option to add a new line between the invoice instead to go to the bottom part of the invoice to create it, and then moving it where we need it, many times I need to add a line in a large invoice but to make it, I need to go down to the bottom part, add a blank new line and move it where I need. If we can just make right-click and add a new blank line where we need it, it will be easy to create or amend an invoice.

+1 Adele - it is a complete drag (excuse the pun) to drag lines up from the bottom. Our invoices can be 4 or 5+ pages long, and this also doesn't work on an ipad which is the primary device for some (which means I then have to log onto computer to drag a line up for them).

Would value this change in relation to manual journals as well as I always believe it is good practice to have well organised and structured journals.

The ability to insert a row amongst existing rows of an invoice or quote instead of adding to the bottom of the table and having to drag it up to where it needs to be. This will be particularly useful for large invoices with multiple jobs within them that have been saved in 'draft' format and items such as client changes / additions are been added to them at a later date.
