Navigation - Sub menus on Purchases drop down for different statuses
On the Sales menu, I would like a sub-menu/fly-out to the right of Invoices with links to the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating tabs on the Invoices page. This would enable me to go directly to the tab I want, saving a click or two, and reduce page load time instead of always landing on the default tab then having to click the one I actually want. Clicking Invoices should still go to the All tab. Same could be done on the Purchases menu for Bills.
Alternatively, instead of a sub-menu/fly-out, add Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating to the main menu beneath Invoices. They could be indented a couple of spaces so it is obvious they are sub-options of the main Invoices option. I would click these far more than any other option in those menus.

Understanding that sub menus or more levelled drop downs could be helpful in some places, this is an idea our product team have a close eye on.

I completely agree. A sub-menu or fly-out option under Invoices and Bills would be ideal. It would make navigation much faster and eliminate the need to load unnecessary pages first.
If the sub-menu can’t be implemented, then I’d strongly support having Awaiting Payment set as the default view for both Invoices and Bills. In day-to-day use, that’s by far the most commonly accessed tab, and it would significantly cut down the time spent waiting for the All view to load — especially when Xero is running slowly.
Either approach would make a big difference to efficiency and the overall user experience.

I'd like to add sub-menus for Quotes as well - so clicking on Business > Invoices gives you a sub-menu for All / Draft / Awaiting Approval etc
and Business > Quotes > All / Draft / Sent / Declined etc
Seems like a basic feature that's been missing for ages - and might reduce the load on your web servers too, saving 1 page render each time!

We need a NEW BUTTON on the drop-down-menu please,
called INVOICE PAYMENTS .. To go directly to invoices awaiting payment.We have one called "Bills to pay" So,Why do we have to click and click again to get to something we use every minute of the day in Xero ?
- We often get multiple invoices paid together.
This would save time and a lot of clicks!Thanks - Please add this feature

When depositing checks, I often search for the customer name or invoice number and deposit ONE CHECK AT A TIME. While this is less efficient than batch deposits, it works fine for our low volume of checks (most customers pay by CC or ACH now). That said, it would be more convenient to navigate to business/invoices/awaiting payment in one step than navigating to invoices and then clicking on the awaiting payment tab in a second step. IOW, you should show the sub-navigation within invoices so you can go to the exact tab you want.
