  1. There is a weird issue when entering in text in the 'Descripton' box in a Quote.

    Once the text is entered if you then leave the description box and then click back into it, all the text in that field is highlighted.

    This is a little problem when you want to delete one character as it deletes the whole text.

    If you Control V the text back....it hasn't copied the text to put it back in.
    So, you lose all the text entered.

    I understand you can click a few times to stop it highlighting the whole text.

    Hi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.


    Thanks for starting an idea in this, we'll begin to track the appetite as a possibility for future work.

  3. I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
    If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!
    Could you please add this ability to the app?

  5. There has been an ongoing BUG in Xero, on the bank reconcile screen, when you select more details about the transaction, it covers the invoices. If you have invoice references in the details, you have to close that then select the invoices in the reference. Xero should not cover the invoices, but display the details along the side, see CASE BUG CX0013467462 for full details and screenshot.

    Appreciate your screenshot and can see what you're meaning here, Craig. 

    While this is not a bug we appreciate this is not ideal and understand why you'd like to be able to view these to items at once. Currently these are two separate features in the Reconcile screen which is why they work in isolation and the More details view can be open and closed while working with Find & Match. 

    We don't have immediate plans for changing this behaviour, however I've shared with our team and we will let you know if there's any change planned. 

  6. I already submitted and someone closed off my ticket incorrectly.

    I want the ability to have a default template for INVOICES and a different default template for QUOTES.

    Someone submitted this as already existing here https://central.xero.com/s/article/Set-default-invoice-quote-templates?userregion=true

    But the default invoice template set for the contact will override the organisation’s default template when you add an invoice, quote, customer

    Hi Terry, we don't have any plans for extending the payment services we offer with Xero in the near term. However if you have a payment service that doesn't currently integrate with Xero you can see if they have a custom URL with placeholders that can be applied to your invoice template in Xero. 

    We have a bit of information on this here, however you'll also need to touch baser with Zeller to request the custom URL that you can include, from them. 

  8. If you send an Invoice per mail to a client, a credit note that is linked to the invoice should be attached to the mail with the invoice too.
    Currently, you have to send two separate mails.
    If you send an invoice, you have several check boxes like "add invoice as pdf". There should be the option "add credit not as pdf".

    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice not approved
    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice or draft bill (not approved and therefore not posted into the books of account).

    For example I would like to see what impact certain entries would have on a balance sheet or income statement but dont want to approve them only to see the impact and then subsequently void or reverse them if I am, say unhappy with the outcome ? I…

  10. As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.

    When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.

    So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

  11. Quotes need the ability to either show the VAT content or not. Depending on the type of business you are dealing with at the time i.e domestic or Commercial. Generally domestic clients want to know the total cost including tax (VAT) whereas on a Commerical clients are not bothered as it is generally assumed or stated plus VAT.

  13. Our new system separately invoices every job we complete. This gets loaded into xero invoices, ATM you can copy these individual jobs and they can be put on to one invoice, great.

    However Xero wont let you add more jobs to this invoice by the same copy facility.
    It only gives you the option of a customer name not an invoice number.
    I would like to be able to add jobs daily to this invoice and send my customer one invoice at the end of the week/month.

  15. We need to be able to create a service docket via the Mobile app so that service crew can create and issue a service/delivery docket to customers when they are out doing the service. The packing slip option is not available apparently and, besides, its not the right name for what we do.

  16. Please enable ordering of Outstanding bills by due date, not alphabetically.

    Currently, if one wants to see bills ordered by due date one has to access the "Purchases" tab at the bottom of the screen, then hit "Bills" at the top of the screen. The "Outstanding bills" screen — accessed from the (default) Dashboard screen — displays bills ordered alphabetically and it should order them by due date, or at least make it user-selectable

Simply the ability to create Recurring Purchase Orders (similar to the recurring purchase invoice) to select from so that information is prefilled ready to go for suppliers that we regularly purchase the same items from. Or you can use this as a template and add to or from with any other items as required.

  18. When editing an assigned expense in the project module, there are four options for 'What you'll charge': % markup, pass cost on, custom price and non-chargeable.

    I think there should be a fifth option.

    In the instance where the expense is to be tracked to an estimated expense (ie field 2 is completed), there should be the possibility of linking to the 'What you'll charge' amount that is already prepopulated into the associated estimated expense.

    This would save a lot of time repeating steps.

  19. Hi,
    I have seen several posts about the Account Number not being searchable/usable within the system or via exports. Contacts' names can vary easily from the different systems used by a company and even between departments: ABCco , ABC Company Ltd, ABC Ltd... - the account number can solve these format issues.
    In my case i need to export invoices in csv to be then imported in another system, also the invoice standard template has this field (to be ticked or not) it does not get exported which is rather peculiar; that obliges our finance to maintain a mapping file…

    If I understand correctly, you're asking to export the contact account number when exporting invoices from your organisation, Christophe? 

    If so we don't have any direct plans for developing this at this stage. I'll change the title of your idea here slightly and we can get a sense of the interest from the community of this, here. 

  20. When quoting items, customers need to know when the quoted items would be available.

    It could be that the item is available ex stock or that there is a lead time to the item of days, weeks or months.

    This is a common occurrence in the industrial sector.

    Each item on the quote could have a different lead time, whether it is an item or service that is quoted.

    The information is important to the customer for operational, as well as cashflow purposes. M
