  2. Batch Deposits: allow adding over-payments and pre-payments to a batch deposit from the Invoice > Awaiting Payments tab.

Currently a bank deposit that includes over-payments or pre-payments will not match recorded batch deposits because over-payments and pre-payments cannot be added to batch deposits. This causes a lot of wasted time communicating with client accounting staff to understand how to reconcile the variances.

  3. DEAR XERO. CAN YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE GST AUDIT REPORTS SO THAT THEY SHOW THE ACTUAL NARRATION THAT IS ON THE BANK STATEMENT INSTEAD OF THE PAYEE NAME. WHEN RECONCILING TRANSACTIONS XERO ADDS IN A SUGGESTED PAYEE NAME WHICH OFTEN GETS ACCEPTED, OFTEN ITS INCORRECT. THIS IS THE DETAIL WHICH SHOWS ON THE GST AUDIT REPORT. IF I AM CHECKING THE REPORT I NEED TO SEE WHERE THE ACTUAL PAYMENT WENT, FROM THE BANK STATEMENT - NOT WHERE SOMEONE HAS INADVERTENTLY SAID IT WENT WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE CORRECT. THERE IS A LOT MORE INFORMATION ON THE BANK…

  4. Users in Xero can see the figures of the repeating invoices.

Purpose: Users can easily see the figures and forecast their sales, especially those who are having many repeating invoices.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your support and feedback for having a Repeating Invoices Report.

We know that not having a dedicated report for your repeating invoices can present limitations when trying to forecast sales.

As noted by others in the idea, while not a complete solution there is the Receivable invoice detail report, that will provide results for invoices that have already generated from a repeat invoice template. There is also Short term cashflow predictions in Xero Analytics Plus that can predict recurring cash transactions based on the past 3 months reconciliations.

For more comprehensive forecasting, some users have found third-party apps that integrate with Xero to be helpful - You can view the full suite of official apps on our Xero App store

While we understand these aren't ideal long-term solutions, I want to let you know that there's no work currently planned to develop a specific…

  5. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

    We ask Xero to…

  7. Please update depreciation schedule to allow for custom percentages per year, for small business in SA it is allowed to depreciate 50% / 30% / 20% over three years but there is no viable way to implement currently.

HI team, we're grateful for your involvement and sharing through product ideas. To let you know, currently we don't have any plans for developing the ability to add custom percentages in the depreciation schedule.

We'll continue to track the interest from community through this idea and if there are any changes surrounding this we'll share an update with you all.

  8. It would be good if there was a warning if an adviser user inadvertently enters a date in a prior accounting period which has been locked. For example year end is 31 Dec 2022 and a current year bill is entered as 17/11/22 instead of 17/11/23

  9. Please Please put the option to see what branding theme is on the invoice on the DRAFT invoice page -- If you have 50 invoices in a batch with different themes its a nightmare. And then also Step 2 - PLEASE link the email template automatically to the branding theme. It would make our lives much simpler. We process many invoices in batches with two different themes. Not having the ability to even see the branding on the draft page is crazy. How hard can it be to put that field up as a display item - You have others…

Hi 👋 - Is there a specific purpose this report would help with?

Also to better understand the idea would this be on a client basis or across all clients that are managed by a practice?

  11. An updated, functional VAT reconciliation report.

The existing VAT reconciliation report isn't particularly useful. It has to be populated manually and the figures that do populate automatically can't be drilled down into. Not helpful.

VAT reconciliation aren't really a problem for us as we can use the Detailed Account Transactions report to identify the transactions posted directly to the VAT account i.e. transactions that have a category of VAT, whether it be a VAT payment, VAT on imports or just simply a miscoding by the client. Essentially it highlights those transactions that will affect the VAT ledger balance but won't…

  13. I would love if when we merged Invoices into 1 from drafts it doesn't leave the draft that I need to manually go back and delete. This can cause double ups of Invoicing.

  14. Expenses module: We want the ability to customise the Expenses Claim Reference.

All expenses under the Reference are set as "Expense Claims," which makes it impossible to search specific claims/events or others. Can this not be customised within the expenses Module ?

The recommendation from Xero is to revert to manual expenses, which defeats the objective of paying for the Expenses module. Any chance this can be added or will we need to remove the feature as there is no point paying for something we need to do manually?

  15. Activity Statement - ability to filter transactions by Tracking Category to check for accurate GST codes. The ability to filter and check GST entered on transactions with Tracking Categories is especially important for NFPs and Charities.

For some organisations, there are specific GST treatments for specific transactions and often these are tracked by the use of Tracking Categories.

Currently in the Activity Statement we can only do a check based on a dump of transactions listed under the tax rate or BAS field tabs, which is cumbersome and clumsy. The current methods available in Xero for auditing and checking GST…

  17. It would be great to have the option to email a customer invoice as a csv or pdf or both. We are getting an increasing number of requests to send the csv version of invoices for our customers and this is currently quite a manual process to email the exported invoices.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on the frequency of the BNZ bank feed. We understand that getting timely transaction data is crucial for keeping your accounts up-to-date.

The way the direct feed from BNZ is currently set up means that transactions made over weekends and public holidays are sent through to us on the following business day. This is why you'll typically see these transactions appear in Xero on a Tuesday.

We will keep this idea open for the community to continue voting on. Your votes help us, and our banking partners like BNZ, to gauge demand and prioritise these potential improvements. We’ll be sure to post an update here if there’s any news to share.

  20. A report that shows the total paying a supplier in a payment batch, currently we can only produce a Batch report that has individual invoices and a total over all but no total by supplier.

Optional to have supplier bank details paying to would also be great
