  1. When at the client level and adding a new report to a report pack generated from a Practice level report template currently the reports from the Xero report packs show up as well.

    The reports that show in this list should be only the reports from the Ready to use list in the Report Templates of Xero HQ

  2. To have a report for NET Sales for a month. Currently there is a report that only shows what's payable with VAT (not all sales are vatable) so, when trying to reconcile with the in-house ordering program it becomes a whole big xcel spreadsheet exercise...... takes to much time. the report also includes Prepayments which are not goods sold, but money transactions in advance

  3. We have a few Singapore entities on Xero. They are all registered under one Group GST registration. It would be good to have a function to consolidate GST reporting under the same GST registration number as they are related subsidiaries.

  6. When entering a new batch deposit in the sales ledger you are asked to enter a date, reference and a bank account on the header. Each line that is in the batch is displayed below again with a reference, however this reference seems to default to some entry from years past. I change the reference per line by copying and pasting the reference in the header onto each line. Time consuming when up to 20 lines. Any change we can have a little button called copy reference to line level that allows you to tick and copies the header reference…

  7. Kia Ora Xero,

    In this 2022 Q4 update, it was nice to see the ability to show in chart the income and expenses by contact. It will be useful if Xero can have a chart for P&L. Users would like to see the distribution of income and/or expenses in chart format with the flexibility to show it by Categories or Groups.

    Better if this can be inserted in the Monthly or Annual report under Notes or within the Analysis of revenue and/or expenses.

  8. When viewing the contents of files in the inbox, I currently have to close the file in order to be able to open and view the text of the email that it was sent with. I would like the email text to be an optional sidebar when viewing the contents of the file, so that I can see both the contents of the file and the context of why it was sent and who by at the same time.

  9. When Activity Statements are connected to the ATO, running the Activity Statement report shows no information throughout the quarter.
    As we like to put aside GST through the quarter ready to pay at the BAS lodgement, we would like to see a running tally of outstanding amount owed to the ATO throughout the quarter whilst still connected to the ATO.

    Appreciate it's a few steps to set up and add the columns, however once formatted as you like, if you save as Custom you can then set this as the default so it's a onetime effort. 


    Understand this may be more cumbersome if working with many organisations. Being open this isn't something we have plans for currently. We'll watch the interest in this, here.

  12. SureIy this would be a no brainer??

    I'd like an option to download PDFs with a password automatically added.

    The password could be added in the company setting pages with the option to download "Protected PDF" when you print a report.

    This feature seems so simple to create and i'm not sure why it hasn't been thought of.

    This would also save us having to do this manually with every report sent to a client.

    Please set this up at it would be a great option for bookkeepers and accountants.

  13. In Xero financial statements, it can obviously detect whether an item is negative or positive, as you can group items as assets or liabilities based on the value.

    Can we get context dependent wording then too? Especially for Income (Loss) type totals?

  14. Tier 3 cash flow statement needs to refer to "bank accounts and cash" per XRB requirements not "cash and cash equivalents". Xero reports do not permit these line descriptions to be edited on their cash flow statement.

  16. Bank Accounts Cash Coding problems:
    xero auto enters "unknown" if payee not used
    No Quantity column for shares or livestock transactions
    Posted entries disappear which does not allow easy scroll up and down scrutiny of work done
    account code does not show for coded entries
    bank account description/particulars does not show as per bank statement
    ie simply make the bank statements screen like Banklink so I can move my practice.

    Hi Brian, appreciate your feedback here. However, in order for others in community to understand the specific idea they're supporting and to also share back with the right teams here at Xero we ask to keep one idea per thread. 


    We have an idea started that you can support for livestock calculations 


    I've adjusted your idea here specifically for showing the account code in the cash coding screen, and you're welcome to support others cash coding ideas or start others for ideas that are represented.

  17. Accounting > Advanced > Export Accounting Data > Xero General Ledger (.txt), to add the Contact name (customer/vendor/employee name) as a field. Currently, such information is not exported.

  18. It would help if the NEW FOLDER button in the Files area was available at the top of the page. We have built up a number of folders over the years and having to scroll to the bottom of the page to add a new (current month) folder is a little niggly. If there was a button at the top (as well as the bottom?) that would be a small but helpful improvement! Thanks, love the software otherwise :-)

    Hi community, appreciate your interest and feedback on the idea here. I wanted to provide an update for you all here - while this isn't something we have plans to develop in the near term, in lieu of shifting the placement of this button you may find keyboard shortcuts useful to help you navigate. 

    On your computer you can press 'end' on your keyboard to help draw you straight to the bottom of a page and avoid having to scroll (if you're using a Mac you'll want to press Command + the right arrow) 😊

    Do get this isn't directly what you're asking here and we'll leave the idea open, however hopefully this helps speed things up for now. 

  19. In MYOB it is possible to record transactions as GST Not Registered (GNR). This reports it and enables proper accounting of GST obligations when dealing with small suppliers that are not registered for GST. I can see why many companies don't like to deal with such suppliers ! I was hoping there was such a method in Xero

  20. To be able to preset number items shown on page in customer invoice report.
    So you don't need to scroll down each time you enter tab to see totals.
    Or
    Be able to set totals at top of page as well or instead of bottom.
