History & Notes - Xero Mail - Log of mail sent via Xero
Have a log or register of all emails sent from a Xero organisation with detail of content, recipients, senders, and date of send.
Purpose: Validity when being queried by customers about a transaction, verifying payments and collecting debtor payments. Proof of interaction.
409 votesHey community, we get the vying interest in this and how having a copy of the invoice sent within Xero would help when following up with debtors, or in disputes.
As many of you have pointed out, the best option that exists within Xero for now is to use the 'send me a copy' checkbox. This gives you a solid record in your own email inbox to fall back on. While it takes a little setting up you could create a filter in your email inbox to route these to a specific folder for reference.
Another smart tip as shared here could be setting up a dedicated email address to file these automatically, and keep things organised.
Though not a solve for the body of the email that's being asked here, a change that we recently made for invoices is that all sent invoices will include the primary To: email address in History & Notes, including where an invoice is resent. Adding the ability to quickly confirm who an email was sent to.
We know a full log of the email body is the ultimate goal for many of you, however we want to be transparent that this is not something we have planned in the next 12 months, however we're watching this idea sharply and will share any new updates right here if anything changes.

Organisation settings - Ability to wind back/restore to a previous date
Ability to restore Xero org to previous date.
Purpose: To make customers able to get the previous data from the previous date if they made mistakes in their Xero org.
73 votesHi everyone, with the recent changes in Xero Product ideas, we will shift this idea to Not in pipeline to set the expectation here.
While a direct option to restore or unwind an organisation to a previous date in time isn't in our plans, as previously mentioned to confirm - Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.
To reiterate from my last response, most actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) and our help article on Xero Central explains some of these options that can help with needs expressed in this conversation.
The History & Notes report can be highly useful to review actions recently made so you can 'undo' these.
For future cases, if you're looking to try out a feature and not sure how it will work the demo company is always a great option to trial and test Xero's features. Thanks

Multicurrency - Support for new currencies & Bitcoin
To have the ability to add additional currencies that are not on the standard list.
Purpose: Business accept payments in Bitcoin and have no way to add that to the currency list. This would allow the ability to calculate tax, profit, and loss from the currency/cryptocurrency that the business is using.
126 votesHello I am the product manager for the group within Xero which looks after the currency capability.
I follow the digital currency space closely, I find it incredibly interesting both sociologically as well as technically. However as a product manager my role is to ensure that my engineering group works on the things that create the most value, for the most people, and in alignment with the company's long term goals and aspirations.
Digital currencies continue to have an extremely passionate, but also extremely small group of users who want to see them handled in Xero. The cost remains very high for us to deliver this feature, and does not make a difference to enough peoples lives to justify that investment. There are a lot more touchpoints than many people appreciate to implement crypto properly. Huge decimal precision, UX, currency rate feeds, revaluation logic, reporting - all need changes to support this in the way that needs to be done to allow proper accounting.
Digital currencies aren’t prioritised in the next year, but our group is working on other initiatives which lay the groundwork so that in the future I truly believe we will be able to justify working on crypto, and that what we produce will be world class.
I continue to monitor this thread and I look forward to sharing news that is more in line with what you hope for in the future.

Files - Control/edit the name of PDF files sent from Xero
Ability to edit the PDF name when sending PDF attachment from Xero.
Purpose: Users’ can name their attachment with their business name.
77 votesHi community, while we're continuing to keep a close eye on the support for this idea here, we don't have any plans in the near term to control the naming of files sent form Xero.
Just to share, though appreciate many will already be aware, once the file is received and downloaded by the recipient the file name can be manually edited on their local device.
If there are any plans made we'll share here.

Navigation - More keyboard shortcuts in Xero
Creating more Keyboard shortcuts in Xero.
Purpose: Save time and create efficiencies.
49 votesHi community, as many will have seen in our updates about new invoicing we’ve been releasing many improvements to the new experience including keyboard shortcuts that will also interest many in the idea here.
At the end of 2024, we made an update so all date entry shortcuts will now also work within new invoicing. Along with this and listening closely to our customers feedback, we’ve most recently delivered some new keyboard shortcuts specifically for new invoicing. These shortcuts help users quickly perform common actions while invoicing to save the need of using your mouse and clicking around. Shortcuts include things like; different options when Approving or updating your invoice, being able to Preview, or Print your invoice, through to sending your invoice to a customer. You can view the full list of shortcuts that can be used in Windows and Mac, as well as all other shortcuts available across Xero, here.

Organisation settings - Remember my settings preferences in Xero
Ability to save and remember users’ settings in Xero (e.g. view of chart of accounts).
Purpose: Each users’ in Xero org have their own settings preference, and by enabling this feature, it’ll improve their workflow.
27 votesHi team, while not relevant to all areas of Xero atm. As we continue to develop the product you'll find there are many places where teams are beginning to add improvements to behaviours such as Xero remembering your last selection.
For example, in the Products and Services page(Inventory items) if you make a change to the number of items shown, and navigate away from the page when you return this selection is remembered. A couple of exceptions to this is when you change browsers, or if you're using incognito mode or a private browsing page.
We appreciate there are more places across Xero you'd like to see these behaviours and we'll keep you updated of more improvements here.

Dashboard - Watchlist for Tracking categories
Ability to see tracking watchlist on the Xero dashboard.
Purpose: To save users’ time from clicking and going through multiple pages.
18 votesHi everyone, unfortunately while we started work that would impact this feature, this has had to be put on the back burner for now with a few other pieces of work taking priority. We'll shift back to submitted for now and be sure to update you of any movement surrounding the idea, here.
