AU Payroll - Default pay templates for new employees
it is very difficult to manually add a " pay template " every time when a new employee is added, so is there any shortcut for that? because when we have more joining every day then it is very difficult to manually add every time ordinary rate and overtime rate and other things again and again in a pay template. please update XERo as soon as possible.

Bank Reconciliation - Upload files within the "Match" option
Upload AR Remittance Advices within "Match" option within Bank Reconciliations
I have noticed that when processing the Bank Reconciliation and matching bank deposits to raised AR invoices, the Remittance Advice can't be uploaded directly to the receipt under the "Match" option (see attached screenshot).
However, under the "Create" option (next to Match then clicking "Add Details") there is the option to Upload files.
Not being able to do this directly within Bank Rec matching means it is an inefficient process where I have to go back to the Customer account, look for the Invoice(s) that were paid and open it up, click the Payment link and then upload the remittance from there which for every transaction means wasted time to do this process.Upload AR Remittance Advices within "Match" option within Bank Reconciliations

Invoices - Include item code column in invoice CSV download
Is it possible to include a item code column when downloading Xero invoices. This information is already included in the PDF download.

Bank reconciliation - Ability to move selected transactions to the following month.
It would be amazing if Xero could add the feature when doing a monthly bank rec to be able to choose certain transactions that are putting the month end balance off and may need to be excluded and put to the next month because of posting differences from bank statements. It would be a life saver!!

Analytics Plus - Optional add-on for CA/US plans
Any appetite/plans to offer Analytics Plus as a per month add-on like projects and expenses?
For my starter clients, it would be nice to offer the 90 days, instead of just the 7/30 days.

Customer Statement - Option to remove allocated payments
Customer Statements - the current statements show payments allocated to invoices. This is confusing for customers who make part payments. Can Xero please bring in an option to not include payment allocations as our customers only want to view their statements by looking at the amounts they actually paid, not the break ups
31 votesAppreciate wanting to see a direct option within customer statements that exist in Xero.
An option here would be to run the Customer Invoice Activity report where you can filter by Source to remove payment type sources such as 'Receivable Payment'. Once set up this could be saved as a custom report to be run with your filters at any time. 🙂

Xero expenses - Ability to change sort order
Allow a simple 'sort' function to re-order the view of expenses that have been 'done'.
This should allow order by 'date of spend', by amount; category; etc

New Invoicing - Update total line amount when unit price is deleted
at the moment in the new invoicing system, if a price is deleted from a line and not replaced with 0.00 it is not automatically zero'd out so the the line total remains what it was before the price was removed. should automatically update as soon as the number is removed.

UK Payroll: Report on employee age
With ever changing minimum wage requirements (UK only) which are based on an employees age it would be useful to be able to have a 'one pager' report that lists the employee name and the current age. Their age is data which is already in Xero as part of the employee profile. A report would be useful to help payroll staff check who needs to move onto new wages / salaries based on age groups.

UK Payroll - Allow leavers to access payslips after 14 days
Leavers can only access payslips 14 days after leave date. 14 days is not enough time as the final pay ay not have been processed at this time. So final payslips then becomes a manual process. If P45's could also be accessed that would be great.

Bills - Ability to set a default for 'Approve and Add Another'
When posting a bill, you must use the drop down menu to "approve and add another" because the button defaults to just "approve". If there was a way to change this it would save time when entering multiple bills at once.
10 votesThanks for sharing in community here, Lindsay. Sales invoices and Bills are developed quite separately in Xero and we have a separate idea for the same in Sales invoices across here that you may also like to support.
Atm, we don't have direct plans for this change in either area but we'll keep those interested in each idea updated if there's any news.

Xero Interface - Dismiss / hide the setup guide
Please add the ability to dismiss/hide the setup guide without the need to have clicked through and used all options in the guide. Some do not apply to my organization and so there is no way to get the blue setup guide button to disappear and it gets in the way of other things on the screen.

UK Payroll - Secure form for fraud prevention
A company we work with here in UK was recently a victim of an elaborate but simple fraud, resulting in the loss of around £5,000 from the payroll.
The scam went like this:-
- Scammer fakes an email to HR from an employee requesting the bank details for their salary be changed.
- HR fails to spot the "EXTERNAL EMAIL WARNING!" and forwards this email to the person who updates the payroll. They also didn't spot the fake email address, or double-check with the employee.
- Bank details for the employee are updated in the payroll and bank payments.
- Some weeks later, the employee concerned then contacts their manager as apparently they had not been paid this month. The fraud comes to light. "I never sent any email changing my bank details!" The scammer is long gone with the money. Whoopsie!
It would seem to me that the simple solution to this is not to accept, EVER, any instruction to change bank details via email. Instead, employees should be directed to a page internally or in our case in Xero, which can only be accessed by employees with a login and preferably requires two factor authentication.
The form could allow the employee to enter their new bank details. Xero sends a notification to the employee's known email/phone contacts to confirm the action, and then the person responsible for updating it receives a notification in Xero to update the bank details.
This approach would considerably reduce the risk of this type of phishing fraud, as any scammer would need to have access to xero and would have to get round 2fa, with at least two people checking the request before any bank details are changed, and not just fake an email: "Please to be updating my bank details... thx..."

3 votesThanks for your idea here, Rob. I've made sure to share this back with our Payroll product team. We appreciate your desire to prevent fraud, however there are also employee laws that implicate this process. It's something we're keen to track demand in here, but want to be upfront that there are no immediate plans for developing this.

Inventory - Option to automatically update Purchase Price from bills
Ability to have an option to automatically update purchase price on the item when users buy the same new items.
Purpose: To save time from having to manually update each item price when there’s a different price on the same new items.
168 votesThanks for your comments and emphasis on the bills side of things for the idea here. I've made sure this is shared with our team in this space.
Bills is an area we're continuing to develop with building on beautiful and I'll be sure to let you know here if there's any consideration made to change behaviour of this through the bills add and edit flow.

Bank rules - Option to pause/disable Bank Rules
Would be great to have a "Disable" button for checked/selected Bank rules on the bank rule page, rather than only a "Delete" button. Sometimes staff want to turn them off but we don't want to delete them.

Reporting - Ability to set a Default Date for reports
When using the old reports, when you opened them up they would show the current month. Now they show 12/31/22 which is useless now that we are into March. They should either default to prior month (which is what QBO does) or current month (which is what Xero used to do).

Bank Reconciliation - Save for later option
SAVE FOR LATER section within the Reconcilation page
We should be able to add a transaction to the top of the list to a section that doesnt scroll, another tab or click a button to change its colour to signify it is now in a special section for 'saving for later'.
Sometimes a transaction needs looking into further and when doing recon you might end up with half a dozen of these, it would be really handy to be able to group them at the top of page or turn them a different colour so that when continuing on they are out of the way and you know you can ignore them for a little while, instead of scrolling through all of the transactions to get to the next transaction that you CAN actually complete.
If you were to put these in a tab of their own, reminders would need to be present on the currently viewed page to let us know that recon cant be completed until those grouped 'saved for later' transactions are completed (would just need to be a brightly coloured button somewhere on the screen that can be clicked on to take us to the saved for later transactions.
But I think the ability to just change the colour of 'save for later' transactions would be simplist.SAVE FOR LATER section within the Reconcilation page

Invoices - Keep Invoices search bar permanently open
Dear Sir/madam,
Is ther a way to have a search bar permanetly open. It disappers every time a change between invoce tabs.
Perhaps it can be one search bar on top of the tabs with a choice of permanently open or closed with option to search invoice status as per tabs.It seems more convenient than clicking search buttom prior search all the time you switch the invoice tabs.
Best regards,
