Sales - Search for Invoice by Description
This is NOT a duplicate of https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/44961124-global-search-search-items-by-description.
I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.
I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.
Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able to find…

Timesheet and Job Allocation
I have a tracking category for our job numbers to allocate hours to engineers' time on particular jobs.
I am struggling to find a simple timesheet/app that will sync with my tracking categories (also have one for employee group).
I'm considering using Projects but can't see there's a way to sync my job number / employee group categories to the projects module.
Anyone had any experience of this or a workaround? I currently use an app within gsuite, collating the data to download to a csv but not ideal and very manual when calculating hours.
I then have to reverse…

Increased Early Plan pricing
I am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model.
I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs.
Now with the added "cash coding" feature -- which I…

NZ GST - Zero rated GST for asset accounts
At the moment Zero Rated GST can only be applied to Revenue items on the Chart of Accounts. When we deal with a property sale between GST registsred parties, the sale is also zero rated for GST purposes. We need the option to apply the 0% GST rate to asset codes as well as revenue codes. At the moment, we have to do a manual workaround.

Bills - Tax Amount value button for quick +/- adjustments
When entering a new bill, sometimes the VAT value is out by a few pence.
A spinner button added to the 'Tax Amount' column to quickly increase or decrease the value rather than having to delete and retype would be convenient.
See attached image of example.

Export invoice
A feature to export the status of outstanding invoices/overview in PDF Format. Currently its only available on Excel format.
2 votesWould this be so you can get the Overdue by column, Kristel? If that column isn't really a concern, you could run the Receivable Invoice Summary report atm and filter this by Status = Approved to get all but the Overdue by column. This report can be exported to Excel, Google Sheets or PDF.

preview add files directly from the file library
Upload receipts into Invoices directly from photo Library
3 votesHi Amy, just to make sure I understand your idea here completely when you say you want to add files directly to invoices from the library - would this be to existing or a new invoice?

2 employees on Grow plan, or the ability to tack on employees
The new Grow subscription only allowing for one employee is really tough for accountants operating in the micro-business space, as many of the small businesses that I have been working to get onto Xero are either married couples or two business partners who need exactly two payroll employees, with no intention to grow beyond that number.
Having to jump from Grow to Comprehensive just to add a payroll user is prohibitive for a lot of my clients, and knowing that this is the case is stopping me from recommending Xero as a product where it would have been a no-brainer…

Xero Projects - Allow Users to print their own timesheet
Limited Projects Users should be able to print a timesheet. Those who are subcontractors require their own records, and this saves duplication. Clients often require timesheets to be signed, and the person who entered the time is usually the best person to arrange this, however they cannot do so unless they can print their own timesheet.

Non users of Xero to have their timesheets captured by an admin person
We have employees who we need to enter the timesheets for, who are not users on Xero. The option only allows employees who are users on Xero to enter timesheets. It would be beneficial for employees who are not users of Xero to have their timesheets captured by an admin person

We'd love to be able to use Xero to do Payroll, as we already use it to do our accounts. We are a group of 6 GP practices and a Primary Care
Xero Payroll - NHS Pensions.
We'd love to be able to use Xero to do Payroll, as we already use it to do our accounts. We are a group of 6 GP practices and a Primary Care Network, currently with 100 employees and we need a product that can run the NHS Pension Scheme - we wouldn't hesitate to use Xero if would work for us3 votesHi Lorraine, great to hear that you're interested in using Xero. I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support who'll be able to offer more pointed advice on whether Xero is suitable for your business. You can reach them through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of the page here.

Turn off CSV option on invoices
Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

CIS Suffered Report - Correct Xero to allocate credit notes correctly
IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.
ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

New Invoicing - 'Upload Files' and 'Add from file library' options switched
New Invoicing has switched the position of Add from file library and Upload files. Whilst this may seem a small change, users are familiar with the order from left to right and I personally keep clicking the wrong one. Changing this order has no streamlining purpose so can it please be changed back?

Xero Tracking Summary Report - Add the QUANTITY Column
Hi there, would be awesome to be able to have a column in the Xero Tracking Summary Report which would sum up the quantities from what you entered in the quantity column in the Receive Money/Spend Money when you reconcile the transactions. This is especially important when organisations are measuring the quantities (eg. number of trips taken; number of food parcels handed out) are used with Xero. As it takes a lot of time to go into each transaction and see what the quantities are to get the group total, this feature would save people a lot of time.

New invoicing - Attach more files to invoice when sending/resending
I'm currently re-sending an invoice (manually sending a reminder) and I'd like to attach the email delivery receipt (which I have because I originally sent the invoice to me and then forwarded to the client from Outlook but that's a different set of bugfix/feature requests) as a file to the reminder. The only way to do this at the moment is to back out of the invoice sending screen, attach it to the original invoice and then send the invoice with the attachments both old and new.
I'd like to be able to attach things to the invoice email when…
1 voteAaah I see, thanks for the extra detail, Freya. Appreciate where you're coming from. With a few other items of focus for the team in this space atm, I do want to be open that there aren't any plans atm, but we'll track the interest here, I'll make sure this extra detail gets back to the team, and can share if there is any change to update you on, here.

Billable Expenses - Add Project Billable Expenses to Draft Invoices
Please implement a feature allowing users to add billable expenses assigned to Projects directly to an existing draft invoice.
Currently, users can only add billable expenses directly to a draft invoice if the expense is assigned to a Customer. When expenses are assigned to a Project, they can only be invoiced through Projects. This causes issues when an expense assigned to a Project is has been missed, and needs to be added to the draft invoice. The current workaround requires deleting the draft invoice and starting the invoicing process again, which is time-consuming and inefficient.
