Sales Overview - View Outstanding invoice amount not Total invoice amount
Prior to the last update the upstanding invoices on the sales dashboard used to show amount outstanding. After the update it shows the total of the invoice. This is misleading as it is not showing the actual posts sing amounts.
I run a layby system in my shop and this new update although small is actually inconvenient as I now have to click into each invoice (many of my customers have various laybys ar one time) to see the actual outstanding amount vs total of the invoice.
Don’t suppose you could change it back??5 votes -
Invoice - Add billable expense hyperlink invoice to bill
I can create a Purchase Order, and from that I can mark it as billed and it creates a bill record for this purchase, putting the PO number into the Reference field of the Bill. The Bill also has a hyperlink to jump to the Purchase Order.
Within the Bill, I can assign the expense to a customer, which is fine.
When I create the customer Invoice, I have the option to add billable expenses, which is fine, and it marks the line as a billable expense, but there is no hyperlink to jump from the Invoice to the Bill.
Having created the Invoice, when I go back to the Bill, the chargeable expense line is marked as invoiced to "Customer Name" followed by a hyperlink to open the Invoice which is perfect! So in summary:
There is a hyperlink on the PO to jump to the Bill - Perfect
There is a hyperlink on the Bill to jump to the Invoice - Perfect
There is a hyperlink on the Bill to jump to the PO - Perfect
There is NO hyperlink on the Invoice to jump to the Bill - This is the missing link and would be very useful!!Adding this hyperlink would allow you to look up a customer invoice and very quickly track back any items to the purchase Bill and Purchase Order, something that is very important in the case of a warranty claim on a failed item!
Where the line on the invoice is marked "Billable Expense" could this not simply include a hyperlink to jump to the Bill?
(Out of interest, this is also one thing that Quickbooks can do that Xero cannot!)I can create a Purchase Order, and from that I can mark it as billed and it creates a bill record for this purchase, putting the PO number into the Reference field of the Bill. Xero - Integrate Xero with Dance Studio Pro
Would love to see an integration of Dance Studio Pro into Xero. Invoicing for dance studio in Xero is not sufficient and would love to have the capabilities of the Dance program integrated into Xero.

Please provide a report by Customer for Profit and Loss and allow us to upload a budget for each customer so we can include the forecast in XERO. QBO has much better and flexible reporting than XERO. Please see attached QBO Report of P&L by Customer. Please mimic this report in XERO.

Contact - Save and add another
When entering multiple contacts, it would be good to have the option to "save and create new contact" as well as the "Cancel" and "Save and Close" option after entering the information. Currently you have to press Save and Close, go back to Contacts, then select New Contact.
5 votesDo you often find yourself adding multiple new contacts at a time, Karen? While we don't have plans for a save and add another atm, you could either import contacts, or use the create new icon (+) in the blue navigation menu to streamline this process a little more. 🙂

Journal Import - Add field for tax basis
Journal Accrual or Cash Basis default setting and journal import column.
Default journal setting in is Xero is to post on a cash basis - apply a settings to select which basis is the default method (Cash or Accrual)
Import journals on accrual basis - add an extra column to the import template to state if the journal is accrual or cash basis or a default setting if blank.

Repeating Invoice - Add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices
As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.
When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.
So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

Batch Payment | Remittance Advice - Create for batches that include an overpayment hin there
Please allow remittance advices to be sent to clients from a batch payment even if it contains an overpayment. There is something fundamentally wrong for there not to be an option for this. A batch payment of 100 invoices with an overpayment of 1 is not cause for there not being an option to send a remittance advice to my clients. I've had to search the page and manually extract it onto an excel file and then send to suppliers. Very time consuming especially if you make large batch payments for over 50 different suppliers.

Notifications - Ability to view all notifications received (especially tax code change notifications)
Currently you can only see new notifications when they pop up in the menu. As soon as you click x, they disappear and cannot be accessed any more. It is useful to be able to look at old notifications - particularly for tax codes so that changes to tax codes can be double checked
7 votesAppreciate you raising the idea here, Sally.
It'd be great to understand when you say "dismissing" notifications, would this be by clicking the "x" icon in the top right hand corner of the notifications pop-up, or within the notification feed? Thanks

AU Payroll - Prompt Payroll Admin to update leave accruals when changing pay calendars
When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.
For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
I adjusted each employee to the new calendar. On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period
There was however no prompt to adjust the answer, the previous answer just transferred over, resulting in an incorrect accrual, which needed to later to fixed. When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.

AU Payroll - Add Parental leave pay item
Have a paid parental leave pay item so that a balance can be input and 'drawn down' on. The employee and the employer have clear visibility on how much time has been taken and how much is left.
Since STP PH2 compliance has come in, paid parental leave has just become an earnings pay item and not a leave pay item.
The workaround of running the Payroll Activity Summary or Transaction Listing Summary report to keep track of the earnings processed for the employee, is onerous and not available to the employee.

Dashboard - Show total of unsent invoices in 'Invoices owed to you' section.
The Dashboard panel "Invoices owed to you" shows the number and total of
* Draft Invoices
* Awaiting Payment
* OverdueHaving a fourth line showing Unsent invoices would quickly notify users of those approved invoices which haven't yet been sent, whether intentionally or in error.

Cash Coding - Ability to attach file
It would be nice to have the option to attach files when using cash coding on the bank. To attach a file, I have to go back to the bank recon tab, find the entry and then attach the file. This wastes a lot of time. A small attach file icon or the option to attach a file on the drop-down will save a lot of time.

Projects - Track labour costs without generating an invoice
I would like to track labour costs in project without invoicing them. The invoicing is done differently. It goes per bag packed, but I would like to know how much on labour it costs to pack the bags. Thank you.

Email to bills - Ability to add note that's included in History & Notes of the bill
We generally forward incoming bills for payment to Xero by emailing the bill to bills.b3xxxxxxxxxxxx@xerofiles.com) resulting in them getting queued in 'Draft' - which of course is a beautiful feature. At that point our finance manager will go through and process them to the point of Awaiting Payment (i.e. check them, allocate as appropriate, etc.).
On occasion there is additional information people in the business may wish to communicate to the finance manager about this (e.g. where it should be allocated to, or other descriptive information/special instructions).
Presently this requires a separate email to be sent to the finance manager, typically containing a copy of the invoice, explaining, etc. Then finance manager must remember this when processing that invoice. It would be nice to have the ability to incorporate free text in the email which would automatically appear in the History & Notes section, so it is attached to the bill all the way through. It could be just free text written in the body of the email with some sort of easy to type, unlikely to be found elsewhere, suffix (eg. '///')
To illustrate with an example:
I send a bill through from new vendor where allocation is ambiguous for anyone but myself, but I know it should be allocated to 'Marketing' .The bill is attached to a clean (no copy in the body) email ready to send to bills.b3xxxxxxxxxxxx@xerofiles.com
I go into the body of the email and type: '/// allocate to marketing please'
In the history and notes section for this bill there appears a time-stamped note showing the source and stating: 'allocate to marketing please'
Finance manager incorporates into her work process to check History & Notes prior to processing bills.
This would be amazing.
