    Hi Alison, while there's no direct option to group by Planned date in the Aged Payables Detail report atm, if you change Group to None, once run you can click the Planned Date column header within the report to re-order by this field and it'll group all payable invoices by Planned Date.

  2. We need to be able to select "All Dates" on a report. ex. I want to see a report for a certain account from the start of my business to the current date. now I need to select beginning date and then todays date and the update.

    For anyone looking to achieve this now, you can view transactions across all time by selecting a custom date range in your reports. By setting the start date to your organisation's first transaction date and the end date to today, you can get a full historical view of your data.

    We see the value in your suggestion to add a preset 'All Time' or 'All Dates' option, which would make this process a faster, one-click action.

  3. Previously when making a payment once you added the payment it took you back to the awaiting payment screen (where it showed the name just paid and give you the option to send a receipt) now it takes you to the paid screen. This is a real pain when you are doing eft receipts for multiple clients.

Our team have released an update so you'll now find you're taken to the Awaiting Payments list once a payment is applied to an invoice in new invoicing. Thanks for all sharing with us, here.

  4. When entering expense claims, the program should be set to retain the date entered in the last expense claim item. When catching up on accounting, it is cumbersome to be working on July in December and have to go back and change the entire date for each entry. I should be able to retain the last entry date on the next and simply be able to edit the day.

  5. Hi,
    Currently Xero restricts the export of Invoice / Bills to 500 rrecords at a time.

    We, I am sure like so may other Xero users are a small value per transaction - High Transaction number enviromment and therefore even if one filters on date range for one day, the number of invoices are in excess of 500. This also means that we are unable to append files for one day at a time.

    My I request Xero to remove the restriction on the number of records while exporting Invoice / Bills transactions please.

I'm currently re-sending an invoice (manually sending a reminder) and I'd like to attach the email delivery receipt (which I have because I originally sent the invoice to me and then forwarded to the client from Outlook but that's a different set of bugfix/feature requests) as a file to the reminder. The only way to do this at the moment is to back out of the invoice sending screen, attach it to the original invoice and then send the invoice with the attachments both old and new.

    Hi all, appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to see under each history which invoice template was used to send the invoice.

    We are working on improving new invoicing history that'll eventually include when branding of an invoice has changed.

    However, we want to be upfront that recording the name of the branding template the invoice has been changed From and To is not something we'll be developing in the near term.

    I WANT TO REMOVE THE ABILITY FOR INVOICES TO BE SENT TO INCORRECT CLIENTS BY INADVERTANTLY SELECTING ONE OF THE (MOSTLY OUTDATED) SUGGESTIONS FROM XERO.

    Hi Harchand, returning to your idea here, as noted in my last response - right now within say an invoice or bill you can increment the date using the + and - symbols as well as the number of days you're wanting to increment so for example today is the 22 Sept if you wanted to increment the date by 1 you'd enter '+1' in the date field and tab to the next and this'd automatically enter the date as 23rd Sept.

    There are a # of keyboard shortcuts you can use rather than the calendar picker. 😊

  11. We have a 2 year old issue where we changed an employee end date then reverted a payrun. HMRC has not recognised the revertion or that the resubmission is the same data so we have a duplicate that we haven't been able to sort out.
    To avoid this pain for others, could there be a pop-up warning if someone tries to revert (or otherwise change) a payrun where an included employee has an end date set? Or if the end date has been changed? The details of how it works can be as is easiest to implement.

  12. At the moment, the options for quote status are: Draft, Sent, Declined, Accepted, and Invoiced. A sales quote that was sent but it's now past the date on which it expired still shows as Sent. It hasn't been Declined yet, but nor has it been Accepted, so there are quotes which are 4 years old still sitting in the list of valid quotes (see attached extract from the accounts of one of my clients).   13. It would be useful to be able to send an email to a customer xx days after an invoice is paid.

    This could be used for all sorts of things from offering discounts on new orders to reminding them to leave a review for your service. A bit more of a CRM style feature but would help with business workflow and keeping actions in one place.

  14. Bulk download of invoice PDF files (not export csv)

    Currently after doing a search, what I understand the current process is:
    - Going under Paid / Unpaid tab under Invoices
    - Checkbox all and select print
    - But this clumps ALL the invoices into a single PDF file instead of one file per invoice number
    - Using an online tool to split the invoices. If your invoice is more than 1 page long, you'll need to manually merge them back.
    - Alternatively, manually clicking each invoice link, hitting the Print PDF button. Going back and repeat every invoice.

    Thanks for stepping out the process for others here, Vicky. You're correct in the way this currently works. 

    It'd help when sharing back with the team if you could share more detail of why you'd like the ability to export in bulk but create individual files. What would this help your business do? 

  15. The date format for South Africa is incorrect. We use a day month year format, not the American month day year format. Surely Xero can change this so its adaptable for each country and preference? Its not asking a lot of work to have that additional option. But can cause a huge issue when its not what we work with.

  17. Purpose: to be able to move payroll from one Xero company to another quickly and without errors.

    When exporting employee details from payroll in order to bulk upload them onto another company's payroll, it is not possible to do a bulk export. You have to instead individually download each employee. This is fine if there are only 10-20 employees, but any bigger and you are opening yourself up to missing employees and making mistakes. Any other exports currently available do not give all the information needed to then import directly into a new payroll.

  18. After the recent Xero upgrade, the ability to view leave dates disappeared from the employees' History. Instead, a column titled "Next pay day" was added, which does not seem useful because the employees have left the company.

  19. Xero Payroll restricts the payment date to no more than 90 days after the end of the payroll period. This isn't a legal or taxation limitation, but does restrict the occassions where clients are paying payroll in less regular intervals (such as paying their entire salary annually).

    Hi team, while we appreciate the request here,considering compliance requirements for payroll in AU we want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing the ability to set the payment date beyond 90 days.

    For any employees that you may pay on an annual salary basis, we'd recommend setting the payment date 90 days before the employee's annual pay date.

  20. Automated File attachments for repeating invoices.

    Is it possible to add a feature where attachment placeholders can be saved with a repeating invoice.? So that attachments can be bulk uploaded at some future time and they are included in the draft invoice using file name matching. "[contactname][year][month].csv" for example. Even better if this could done with all the attachments extracted from a single uploaded monthly zip file. The zip file could also perhaps contain a txt file with a simple filename to invoice matching array for a more flexible approach. I know that adding attachments is easy via…
