Accept Lightning Payments
Xero can currently accept online payments however most methods have quite large fees and can result in chargebacks. BTC lightning payments have lower fees (almost nothing) and no chargeback risk. The ability to offer customers this would be great.
There are a few SDK's to implement end-to-end lightning payments that are apparently pretty good such as this one:

New Invoicing - Selecting Print to trigger autosave
Packing Slips need to print what is on screen. Xero how about you create a rule to check what is in the Packing Slip fields and make sure what is going to print also matches. Don't expect the users to have to check what they are printing actually comes out of the printer correctly.
This is the response I got from my Trouble Ticket on this issue today, which suggests the users "wait a few moments to allow the auto save to complete."
New invoicing is very frustrating, why should we have to wait for something that works perfectly well in Classic Invoicing? Please get this fixed.
Here's the response you sent to me today:
Hi Rachel,Thank you for reaching out about the issue you're experiencing with packing slips in the New Invoicing feature. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
I understand your concern regarding the auto-save feature and its impact on printing packing slips. Let me explain how auto-save works in Xero:
The auto-save feature in Xero is designed to save your work automatically as you make changes. This helps prevent data loss and ensures that your information is continuously updated. However, the auto-save process does take a moment to complete, which means there can be a slight delay between when you enter information and when it's fully saved and ready for printing.
Unfortunately, we can't make the auto-save process quicker without potentially compromising its reliability. However, to ensure that everything prints correctly, you can take the following step:
After entering all the information for your invoice or packing slip, wait a few moments to allow the auto-save to complete.
You can then manually trigger a save by clicking on any field in the invoice or by navigating to another section of Xero and then back to the invoice.
Once you've done this, you can proceed with printing, and all the information should be included.
I understand that this extra step may add some time to your process, and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes. If you feel strongly that this is an area for improvement, I encourage you to submit your suggestion to Xero Product Ideas. Our product team regularly reviews these ideas for potential future enhancements.
We always appreciate feedback from our users as it helps us improve our product. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to provide the best possible experience for all our users.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

New Invoicing - View Exchange Rate Used
It’s not possible to view the original invoice exchange rate in New Invoicing. New invoicing only shows the current exchange rate. I have to revert to classic invoicing to see what rate was used when posting the invoice.

Tax & Filing - Make Corporate Tax Filing Software Available to Small Businesses in Canada
Sometimes small buisnees is exactly that - a small business without the need for a robust accounting software, but with the requirement for annual online tax filing ability. Effective 2024 all Canadian corporations, with very few execptions, are required to file their corporate tax online.
My understanding is Xero offers this option to UK Accountants & Partners only - not to small businesses.
I suggest this option be made available to the small business that make up most of the country's enterprises. The Canadian government has decreed the online filing method is required from 2024. There are many accounitng programs, all will be requiired accommodate their clients in some way.
Xero already has a CRA approved platform - TaxCycle T2 (it appeares Sage does not, but QuickBooks does)
My phone call with Xero Customer Service indicated this program was not avaiable in Canada, so I',m not sure whether it is unavialable to all, or just unavialable to the less robust versions.Below is the link to the CRA approves tax software

Inventory - Update unit prices from a future date
ABILITY TO AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE ITEM PRICE ON A SPECIFIC DATE
Obviously item prices vary and when we give customers notice of a price change, sometimes this is months in advance. Now I know I could add a note to the item, but seriously, this would mean checking the notes for every item which would become very tiresome + time consuming.
I would like the ability to be able to go into a line item and be able to change the price of the item on a specific date, so that it when that date comes the item price has automatically changed. This would avoid underpayments/losses/overpayments and all the additional work these issues cause.ABILITY TO AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE ITEM PRICE ON A SPECIFIC DATE

Thanks for sharing this idea about setting future prices for inventory items.
It's now up to the community to get behind and support your idea. Other members can now add their votes and comments about how this could also benefit them.
In the meantime, you'd need to edit the price at the relevant date, either manually or by exporting and importing your items if you need to update lots of prices at the same time.

Expenses - Import claims on PDF files
Allow submission of PDF expenses. We frequently see invoices paid on expenses in small businesses that come in by email as PDFs but need to be printed and photographed to upload the expense.

GoCardless - GoCardless as a Bank Feed
As the old 'GoCardless for Xero' integration is no longer being developed.
And the new 'GCiX' GoCardless as a payment service integration is even less functional.
Stripe, Paypal, Tyro and eWay all have bank feeds.
We need a functional bank feed for GoCardless.
33 votesHey everyone, thanks for all the support and engagement on this idea.
To be transparent with you all, building a dedicated bank feed for GoCardless isn't something we have in our plans right now.
While we don't have a direct bank feed for GoCardless, we still want to make sure you can easily reconcile these payments in Xero - When your customer pays, Xero automatically reconciles the individual invoice payments and fees in a dedicated GoCardless clearing account. You'll then just need to manually reconcile the bank transfer when the payout from GoCardless arrives in your bank account.
We’ll be sure to post an update here if our plans change.

Xero Me - Upload timesheet templates OR apply default template
Hi,
Our employees work standard hours each day, but in addition to this there are often additional items on their timesheets, such as overtime, trip and overnight stay bonuses.
The use of timesheet templates simplifies this process by automating the inputting of their standard hours, though due to the remote nature of their work timesheets are being submitted through the mobile application which does not allow the uploading of templates.
Can the ability to upload templates be added to the mobile app or a default template be added when creating a new timesheet?

Access levels
Would like to be able to add users with only access to invoicing, without them seeing any other part of Xero. This would be a huge benefit so I can have team members invoice customers without seeing company financials.
3 votesIs there something about the Invoice Only + Sales user role that doesn't fit what you're after in this, David?

New Invoicing | Copy to - Purchase order
When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.164 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your continued input and feedback on this feature here. Being able to copy to purchase orders and bills is something our team are monitoring feedback of closely and very much across the this idea, however there are a few other priority pieces of work that are currently of focus.
Right now, it is still possible to copy an invoice to a purchase order or bill from the list views(Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting Payment or Paid tabs). You'll find you can select the invoice/s and click 'Copy to...' - You can find out more detail and ways of doing things within new invoicing through our guide on Xero Central.
We'll keep you in the know here of any progress or updates for this feature.

Remittance Advice - Auto-untick suppliers with no email address
When sending remittances from batch payments, all suppliers are automatically ticked whether they have an email address or not, but you cannot send any remittances to any suppliers if even one of the ticked ones is missing an email. This is a laborious process to go and untick the suppliers with no email addresses in order to send the rest.
It would be great if suppliers with no email address listed are either:
1) already unticked, so you have to tick it to add an email and send the remittance to that supplier, but the suppliers with emails will work without intervention. or
2) it allowed you to send remittances to those suppliers with email addresses, even if some without emails are ticked, and it just showed a warning after clicking send to say xxxx does not have an email so wont be sent, same as is already warned re missing first name etc. When sending remittances from batch payments, all suppliers are automatically ticked whether they have an email address or not, but you cannot send any remittances to any suppliers if even one of the ticked ones is missing an email. Can see how if you have a big batch this could save you time from having to scroll through and uncheck the suppliers that don't have an email.
While this isn't something we have immediate plans of we'll continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea here.
We have a big focus on enhancing and expanding our billing payment solutions across Xero and regions so we'll let you know if there are any plans that'd help in your idea here.

Bills - Copy transaction lines to a new line
It would be great to be able to copy lines when processing spend money and bill transactions. I need to split costs from a single bill or credit card transaction to locations. Being able to copy data entered to a new line and then change the value if needed and apply the location would save time and limit tedium. Thank you

Banking - Make bank deposits from Undeposited Funds
When we receive checks from customers we record them to Undeposited Funds until they are actually deposited at the bank.
This should be a much simpler process in Xero: show a list of checks waiting to be deposited and let me select the ones to deposit. Xero should print me a deposit slip and record the transfer from Undeposited Funds to the specified bank account.

Bills - Show previous bill when entering new bill
Show that vendor's previous bills on the screen when entering a new bill. This helps to see prior amounts and dates to make sure month-to-month expenses are in line.

New invoicing - Ability to set a default BCC email
Is there a way to edit the email template when invoicing to add a standard email address in the BCC field? by doing this Trustpilot gets the email details to send out reviews?? i cant find an option for this feature
obviously you would put your unique Trustpilot email address into the the BCC template field
2 votesHi Andrew, there's no way to set a default BCC email when sending from Xero atm. It may be something we look at in the future. For now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest for this here. Thanks

Inventory - Check items on Quotes and Orders from Products and Services screen
When checking information on the inventory screen it would be extremely helpful if you could click on the 'In committed quotes' or 'Quantity on order' to see the customer or supplier to which they are assigned. Sometimes I need to chase a supplier for parts but have to waste time trawling through the purchase orders to track down who they have been order from. Likewise it would save time to be able to go straight to the customer quoted once an item has been received.

Invoice Templates - Automatically update bank account details
Payment information on invoices updates automatically from information held in the payment services section of Xero. Except, using the .DOCX templates, they don't update automatically your business's bank account details.
Scenario - you accept invoice payments direct to your business bank account. Those details are included in the invoice template. You change your bank account details. You have to update each and every invoice template you have to show the new bank account details. However, if you change your Stripe payment information for example, that information is automatically updated in your templates. Why the different treatment?
The different treatment of these types of payment information increases the chances of failing to correctly update your bank account details on all of your invoice templates. For example, you could forget to update a template or you could make a typo on one of them.
Your business's bank account details should be entered in one place, and one place only (just like the other payment services) to reduce the likelihood of errors and to allow automatic updating of that information when it changes. Treat business bank account details the same way you treat other payment services.
