AU Payroll - Select multiple leave types in the Leave Balances report
I would like to be able to select the leave types in the leave balance report. As at today it gives you all leave types in the report. You cannot filter either as it only allows filtering of amount, employee group and units.

Credit Card due dates
Given XERO is pulling in credit card transaction details can they pull in payment due dates to help manage timing of payments? Could be as simple as a "Payment is due" flag that a user can manually turn off if they want after paying.

Subscriptions / Billing - Report on dormant organisations that are being paid for
In regard to client monthly charges being oncosted via billing, would it be possible for you to run a report of any other files that are dormant. Files that are being paid for and not used?

Statements screen - Add invoice number
When showing a list of statements to send (from Business - Invoices - Send Statements) from Send Statements, can the invoice number be shown on the screen so sorting can be done on invoice number. Also the date of the invoice would be handy as well to give an idea of when first looking at the front screen as to how old they are. It would make choosing and sending quicker and more efficient.

NZ Payroll - Payday filing email reminder
NZ Pay Day Filing Reminder
To avoid missing the pay day filing requirement of two days within pay day, where an email reminder notification would be handy to pick up when a pay run has not been posted to the IRD, or if it were to be showing as an error, as the IRD penalty for missing this timing is steep.

Dashboard - Add custom shortcuts as required
It would be helpful to be able to add shortcut icons on the dashboard for all of the things you use every day instead of having to go through the dropdown menus. (similar to the way the old quickbooks used).
For example, have a way to put an "invoice" icon on the dashboard. Or add "spend money" on the dashboard. Basically have a way to add whatever shortcut icons you want as every business is different.
15 votesHi community - There are a few shortcuts that can help you get around and create transactions from many screens in Xero.
The '+' icon next to Search in the blue banner enables you to create a range of different document types, similarly there are shortcuts that can be entered in Search from the blue navigation bar that will take you to different features for example entering 'r' you can quickly select and be taken to 'All reports'
Are there other specific shortcuts you'd want to see here?

Invoices - Identify invoices not assigned to a Project
When using Xero Projects, we can assigned Bills and Sales Invoices to a Project.
However, it is possible to create a Sales Invoice and easily overlook assigning it to a Project.
There is no way to identify Sales Invoices which have not been assigned to a Project. (A recent update provided a feature to do this for Bills but not Sales invoices)

Salary - restrict access to view salary entries
Stop staff viewing salary information via the contact or the account code, this is a MASSIVE problem and is costing real money right now. I am sure we are not the only business for whom this is a huge problem!
1 voteHi Damien, we'll need a bit more information on your workflow to best understand your needs here, and this would be best raised with our support team directly as a start.
It doesn't look like you've been in touch with our specialists at Xero Support yet, so I'd recommend raising a case with them through Xero Central where they'll be able to get more detail of your processes and if there's any recommendations they can make to help you to censor sensitive information from your staff.

Sales invoice - Don't auto update email of contact
Is it possible for cash sales/one off payments to chose not to save an email address? Every time I do a one-off cash sale for a new/random customer, the email address automatically saves into the Cash Sale contact file. But the next cash sale invoice is going to a different email address, so while I can input the new email address, the one prior is printed on the invoice! It is getting very tedious having to go into the contact file, delete the previous email address and get back into the new invoice to reprint it every time I do a cash sale - which is a lot!!
It would be great if you could add a prompt that gives you the choice of saving the email address to the client file (or not).Is it possible for cash sales/one off payments to chose not to save an email address? 10 votesThanks for your feedback, Carolyn. Appreciate the different use case and why you may not want information from a singular invoice to update the contact. We'll get an understanding of the demand for this here.
In the meantime, it'd be good to understand if recording as Receive money could help your flow here for cash sales so you don't have to enter contact details?

AU Payroll - Paid break times
Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.

NZ Payroll - Leave Balances Report matches employee record leave balance
It would be great to have a Leave Balances report that reported in hours to match the employees' payslip balances for management to use. The current leave balances report only shows accrued leave in dollars not hours.

Invoicing - Longer Reference field
It would be better is the invoice reference could allow for input of longer names, without scrolling, so it's all on one line on the invoice.
Currently, the invoice number character length and the invoice reference character length are the same, which seems odd, as usually the invoice number is just a few characters, but the invoice reference can be long (project name, case name etc)14 votes -
New Invoicing - Highlight relevant items when receiving 'account must be valid' warning
I recently encountered errors like "account must be valid" when updating invoices. It is important to list and/or highlight the relevant rows or item nos in the error message.

New invoicing | Send - Rich text editor format
Please change the editor in the email copy, when sending an email & creating an email template, to a rich text editor. It would be useful to be able to bold/highlight particular lines especially when invoices are late & reminders are being sent
21 votesHi everyone, while we appreciate and initially provided a solution for the idea here within the new invoicing email modal, we wanted to return as after further testing this feature has needed to be removed.
That said, we know being able to add basic formatting to your emails is important to some of our customers and while the tool bar has been removed you can still add basic html formatting to your emails to bold, add italics or underline text within the invoice emails you send to customers.
- Bold = <b> and </b>
- Italics = <i> and </i>
- Underline = <u> and </u>
We understand not all customers are familiar with these tags so I've added an example image that shows the different tags that can be added and how these will show instantly within the email preview so you can make sure you email looks as you expect.
If we make any further plans around adding a tool bar back into the email window we will be sure to keep you updated of this here.
