  1. We have been trying to match up a self assessment refund we have received for a client but can't find the matching amount.

    Would be possible to say add an extra line onto the dashboard which shows that year's tax return amount to be paid or refunded.

  2. Ability to have future tax forms generated for multiple entity types and not just individuals. This will enable practitioners to prepare tax returns for entities that have substituted accounting periods much before the due dates without having to request extensions from the tax office also will give us the ability to work out the timing differences on tax profit more accurately rather than relying on spreadsheets etc.

    Hiya team, we understand the importance of being able to get ahead and create future tax forms in Xero. While work for this isn't underway just yet, we have plans to develop Company Tax Returns(CTR) for the future over the next 12 months. We know there are some in the idea here very much interested in Trust Tax Returns(TRT), however these will be further out, after CTR's.

  3. Sometimes we enter a receive money as spend money in error. It would be nice if you could "recode" it or toggle it back and forth.

  4. I feel like a dedicated feedback board would be useful. As I don't feel there is currently an appropriate place to give feedback and notify support of things that are not working properly.
    For example, I have the new GST returns to trial and there was an actual feedback box in Xero. Where i gave the feedback that i liked the new features but not the look. Now the feedback box is gone and I have just noticed that it tells you that there are unreconciled lines to code. But, they are for the next GST period. Plus the old…

    Hi Dylan, appreciate the feedback here. Sometimes when developing a feature in Xero teams will offer a feedback box as you noted. This is usually a temporary channel where the teams can take your feedback to consider directly in time with the work they're doing.

    There are other channels like Discussions, raising a case with our Xero Support team or sharing through Product Ideas which are always on feedback channels. While our teams in these spaces will do their best to help provide solutions to your needs, feedback you give is also shared back to the appropriate teams and places in Xero to consider in their development.

    From the sounds of your idea here around GST, you'd like the message for unreconciled lines to code to only appear if the lines are dated with in the period of the return? 

  5. Xero workpaper functionality that can connect to more than one Xero file to reconcile inter-entity loan accounts, or confirm rental income and expenses, or Div 7A interest and expense, etc.

    Eg: Debit loan in Company A, Credit loan in Trust B - can link both totals to see at a glance the loans match on both debit and credit sides.
    Entity A pays related-party rent to Entity B - link B's income and A's expenses to see at a glance that the amounts are correct on both sides in both files

It would be really useful to be able to have a column in the 'awaiting payment' section where you can mark the group (i.e. Direct Debit) so when you're setting up Telleroo payments / batch payments, you can easily see which one's are Direct Debit suppliers without either running a payables report or clicking into the supplier to see which group they belong to

  7. It would be useful if in the Tax Statements reporting data set, we could also see GST statement data (currently only Income Tax and SLS show) so that we can check for unpaid GST balances.

  8. Xero apps - In Xero HQ we use to have the apps under the explorer tab, to see the most popular apps and what clients are using them. It was highly useful to advise clients when an app was to cease or we were introducing an alternative to see who was using it.

  9. have supplier inv reference picked up in hubdoc and posted through to xero so xero can show in supplier reconciliations . so supplier canrecognise our ledger . also avoid hours trying to cross refer supplier invoice reference queries to the associated hubdoc unless obvious by date

  10. Home page or landing page -- can you put the "go to xero" button on the left of the client's name? The new page makes it so I have to scroll so far to the right to get to those buttons, that I no longer know which client is on which line of the table. It is harder to log in and go directly to my client's books now.

  11. Currently when a report within a report template is longer than one page (Notes report for example), on the second and following pages there is a large gap/white space at the top of the exported PDF report.
    Would like the ability to reduce the amount of white space at the top of these pages.

  13. Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.

  14. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

  17. If a client switches to another accountant the transfer of the Xero subscription is straightforward. However the transfer of the HubDoc subscription is inordinately complicated. Can this be integrated so we are given the option to transfer the HubDoc subscription at the same time?

    Related to this I have had multiple instances of clients ending up with two HubDoc subscriptions when we create one and they create one. Or a staff member creates one and then no one else in the practice has access. Is it feasible for only the Xero subscriber to be able to create a HubDoc subscription…

  18. It would be efficient to have recurring time entries to be saved as a favorite in XPM instead of having to complete all three segments about Client, Job & Task. Especially for daily recurring Internal Time entries such as Non-Billable Time for Meetings, Personal Breaks or Filing Emails etc.

  20. Tax calculator - Handi has a button you can press for a tax calculator, just enter the income and it shows the Tax, Medicare & offsets (low income & former low & middle income). Awesome feature that allows you to show a client quickly why their refunds are low. Also allows a quick cross check.
