Hubdoc - Client approval to automatically pull loan statements, mortgage statements and bank balances
There are three documents that we are often chasing clients for as accountants in order to do accounts or self assessments -
- Loan statements which show the year-end balances and the interest amounts (for example on the bounce-back loans).
- Bank statements which show the year-end balance to check the accounting software pulled in all the data correctly.

Rental Property Summary Comparison Export
There should be a way in the rental property summary that can be printed for all properties owned by an individual that combines them rather than a separate page for each, so that it is easier to compare the properties to one another or even just the option to download the rental schedules as a CSV.

Export to .csv file the items remaining on the "Reconcile" screen of the Banks
When clients have not provided the required receipts to complete bookkeeping, I always have to generate a list of expenses they need to support.
Rather than going to the "Bank Statements" highlighting, copying, pasting unicode text to excel and filtering out "reconciled" items, I would like to just click an "export list" button from the "Reconcile" screen and have it generate the list of transactions remaining.1 vote -
My Xero/Practice Home - Sort organisations by Most Recent, not alphabetically
I'd really love to see an option in My Xero where the default sorting can be set to the file most recently opened by me (as opposed to alphabetical, or the file last viewed date). That way all of the current clients I'm working on will be near the top of the list rather than having to scroll down and find them, or search each time!

Workpapers - GST and PST bills should generate the date of the end of the period reported
Generated GST and PST bills should generate the date of the end of the period reported. January to March reporting should generate a report with the date of March 31, 2024 and not the date of that the bill is generated.

Contact Notes
This would help a lot!
What :Can the notes section be made available to view from Contacts tab .
Why : You have to click on files to see it
How: If it is there I can see if I have to watch out for anything specific ..i.e rate change or new bank details

You can add notes about your contact that will be displayed on Contact details tab of a Contact record. Appreciate still maybe not as efficient as you'd like ti to be but maybe a little more prominent and save a click 🙂

Filtering in the Archive Space within Xero HQ
Being able to filter with in the archive space of Xero HQ. This would enable sorting of clients to clean up clients with Xero files etc.

Xero HQ - View connected apps by client
Xero apps - In Xero HQ we use to have the apps under the explorer tab, to see the most popular apps and what clients are using them. It was highly useful to advise clients when an app was to cease or we were introducing an alternative to see who was using it.

As some will have received communication of some time back - we made the hard decision to retire Explorer in Xero HQ from 12 April, 2023.
Right now, if you'd like to see the apps a client has connected you can open the Xero organisation, go to settings and select Connected apps.
While this is something we may consider developing elsewhere in Xero HQ down the road, it isn't in the teams plans right now. We'll continue to track interest here, and let you know if there is any change surrounding this to share. Thanks

AU Tax- Ability to assign draft Activity Statements
Would love the ability to assign practice team members to activity statements so you can see from within Xero Tax the workflow of which team members are assigned to which AS.

Hubdoc - Bulk edit and archive documents
A number of our clients simply use hubdoc as a filing system as publishing to Xero is not as simple as they would like.
So we maintain their Hubdoc accounts, we update the document type and archive. It would savea huge amount of time if we could bulk edit and bulk archive rather than having to do this one document at a time.21 votes -
Transaction list showing unapplied payment amount
We need a transaction list for all contact where the unapplied payment amount reflects. It is very difficult to compare our Xero statement with transaction list from a supplier (or debtor for that matter) if you have to export the Xero report on the contact to be able to add up all applied payments and then only be able to compare statements.
The Contact summary Report should have the option of seeing the report with applied payments or show the payment amount as it came (or was paid out) to suppliers / customers.2 votesHi Elmie, just trying to understand your idea here a little better - when you mention 'unapplied payment amount' would this be an amount that's been paid by your customer but hasn't yet been applied to the invoice, or the outstanding amount of an invoice once payment has been applied ?

Editing Transactions
Wnen editing a transaction - to change tracking, for example - Xero, by default, changes the transaction date to the date of the amendment. This causes problems when the transaction crosses a FY boundary. It would be less problematic if the original transaction date was retained, unless the user specifically changes it.

XPM | Clients - Ability to see notes at group level
It would be incredibly helpful for us to be able to view the notes on a profile when you view it at group level.
Currently we don’t use this feature because when a note applies to a whole group (which it often does), how do you know what entity or individual within the group to record the note against.
Creating the view to see all notes for a group it won’t matter so much where the employee decided to leave that note.

Xero HQ - Bulk set and edit client lock dates
It would be extremely helpful if there was an option to set multiple lock dates for various clients at once, so that we don't have to go into each client separately each month. It would also be helpful to have this option on Xero HQ with a view to their current locked period as well.
