  1. AU Tax - print return with option to exlude table items from worksheets

    Update from Xero function in Xero Tax imports all ledger items into the worksheets in the financial disclosure section which looks untidy and provides too much information when presenting to the client. A good option would be if we could summarise these items in the worksheets, which would be far more presentable.

  2. Is it possible to get the total of the VAT due/refund on the VAT report in Xero for a period. Currently one have to do a calculation to see the VAT due/refund. Or have to generate the VAT201 report to see the amount due.
    Ideal one would like to see the VAT due outomatically calculated as well as die balance of the VAT control account on one report. See attachement for an example.

  3. Adding a disclaimer & changing the substantiation declaration on the tax returns - our old system used to have this that the client could sign which we would like to make adjustments to but we have to manually add this on to tax returns in Xero tax.

    Hi community, thanks for your support and sharing in the idea here. Diving into your comments, there are a few different ideas that we're picking up on within this one thread;

    1. ability to change the email address/contact of a sent pack
    2. ability to add additional documents to a sent pack, and
    3. the ability to edit metadata of a sent pack

    For the first, we'd like to better understand what is driving the need to change the email address?  is it down to a typo when entering it? or if its on a tax return, is it wrong on the client record etc?

    Although it's not possible to add additional documents to a pack right now, creating and sending a new document pack is essentially the same - Is there any reason this isn't suitable?

    Lastly, it'd be good to get more substance of how the ability to rename a pack…

    Hey community - just popping back in to re-open this idea 😊

    Our previous update confirmed this was possible for users in Australia, however the bulk of this group is based in the UK, where this feature is not available.

    As such, we'll be shifting this back to 'Submitted' to continue to collect votes around this feature in a UK Tax context.

  7. When preparing the second and subsequent years filings in xero tax for accounts and taxation, bring forward the settings, notes, tagging, engagement letter dates into the next year to save re-entering it all again

  9. Will there be something developed (in the works) on sharing the mapping report with clients, so they know which codes are lumped together in the P&L and Balance Sheet? This seems to be a common inefficiency where they ask the question and we have to break down each code and manually provide the info, as they don't have access to our reporting templates / edit layout function.     Appreciate you'd like to add more detail for assets within a pool. 

    Atm, we don't have direct plans for developing this, however we'll continue to track interest here, so keep adding your support.

  12. In the last week the ability to add multiple tasks to new employees has been taken away, you can still add all jobs but without the ability to add all tasks or some as well that feature is now useless.

    please can you tell me why this has been removed and bring it back asap. I have staff unable to complete time sheets at the moment.

  13. I'd love to have the ability to get XPM to email clients once their returns are lodged to confirmed it has been done. So many clients ask for confirmation and emailing each one takes time, a simple email from xero would be great.

  14. I wanted to put a suggestion that when hubdoc is getting the totals, that they get the correct total and maybe even a prompt when it is unsure of the subtotal and total. I have had a few issues come up where hubdoc is bringing in the incorrect total.

When we set up a new lead and allocate it to an owner, the activities should auto allocate to the owner, instead it is setting to the responsibility of the admin person setting up the lead resulting in additional time taken to reallocate each of the the activities causing unnessary time consumption

As XPM integrates with FYI workflow, and you can toggle between viewing a workflow by jobs or by task, it would be a massive help if when importing annual compliance job templates with pre-defined tasks, you can define the task start and due date as part of the import and not have to individually go through and update these once the jobs have deployed.

  18. A common situation we have with our clients' live Xero files is that the client wants the Legal/Trading name and Display Name as their business name, but we want it as the actual entity name. E.g. we would like to see A & B Smith Family Trust as the entity name in financial statements, but the client wants all their other internal reports/invoices as their trading name, say Adam's Mechanical Services.
    We often find ourselves changing the name to what we require, publishing financials and then changing it back to keep the client happy.

  19. Integrate XWPS with XPM - The XPM job should allow us to enter the period start and end date and this should link to XWPS along with the Partner, manager and staff. We should then be able to go into XWPS directly from that job in XPM. This would reduce having to enter data (period and staff) twice on XPM and XWPS

Hopefully there will be an editable field / automatic tick box in the Cover Letter for the Tax Returns where the Trustee for the Trust is a Company (Corporate Trustee) where we can put the name/s of the client in the Salutation and not the Corporate Trustee. Our tax returns would show "Dear Company Name" which sounds / looks wrong instead of "Dear Individual Name"
