  2. Will there be something developed (in the works) on sharing the mapping report with clients, so they know which codes are lumped together in the P&L and Balance Sheet? This seems to be a common inefficiency where they ask the question and we have to break down each code and manually provide the info, as they don't have access to our reporting templates / edit layout function.   3. Similar to ability to restrict access to Xero Tax, its critical if we can have the ability to restrict access to certain client details. Currently you can search for any client details and there is no way to restrict access to this information. This functionality would be extra help for partners & staff members who are also clients of the firm.

  4. Suggestion for development - We continually have problems with WFF transfers to associated entities. We have tried phoning IRD to put a halt on the account, then follow up with secure mail advising what transfers are required - however more often than not the halt is not implemented correctly. Would be great if Xero could implement something (even a tick box identifying transfers required) that would then trigger at IRD for them to hold funds pending transfer. Alternatively the WFF credit could be added into the tax returns, and transfers done via the return. (I have worked with other tax…

  5. Can you please add a tool for importing Bank Transfers to the conversion Toolbox. When there are more than two bank accounts, trying to work out the Bank account to transfer to, is a bit hit and miss, causing significant rework.

  8. The current sync of "clients" from XPM to "contacts" of the practice Xero Blue file only updates when an invoice is sent across.

    Surely this could be made into an immediate sync, or at the very least an overnight sync?

    Given XPM doesn't integrate with a whole lot of software and doesn't integrate with Zapier, many add-ons practices use are linked with the Xero Blue file and require that data to be accurate.     Appreciate your feedback on the idea here. As a grounds to start from we thought it would help to confirm;

    • There is a two way sync of your clients between Practice Manager and your practice Xero organisation Contacts
    • The sync between XPM and your practice Xero organisation contacts is different - we’ve explained this more below


    Differences between Xero Practice Manager(XPM) and your practice Xero organisation sync

    • Client will sync with your organisation’s Contacts depending on your Xero connection setup - more on Xero Central
      • This is controlled by users with the Administrator role and can be set to ‘Never’, ‘Only when uploading invoices’ or ‘Every time client or supplier details are updated’
  9. Xero Expenses - It would be good if Xero can enable the functionality to record a refund / credit note within expense claim module.

  11. In the XPM report builder, when a firm is working as a team based client and each team composed of several staff. It would be beneficial to have the option to include additional fields of the job manager and partner in the invoice report. Currently, we are only able to select the manager and partner at the client level.

    If this feature were added, it would enable the accurate generation of reports for each staff member who completes a job and track better if each staff has a KPI of a particular budget that he/she needs to reach each month.

  12. Ability to put in manual tax estimate adjustments, such as prior liabilities on tax accounts so clients can see total owed. It can show estimate for return, then show the adjustments.
    Also ability to adjust for amended returns to show the actual amount refunded or owing after amendment calculations.

  15. AU Tax - Error notifications. When a return is rejected by the ATO and appears in the Error tab of the Returns section of Xero Tax, an email should be triggered to alert the tax agent so that the error can be rectified immediately.

    Totally understand how notifications of errors can improve efficiency and handling of returns in Xero Tax (AU). Thanks for all your input and sharing on this idea, everyone.

    While we have a few pieces of work underway atm, this is something our team are looking to develop. We're going to move this to Under Review and as we have more info and progress we'll return to share this with you all, here. 🙂

It would be really good if when the accounts and corporation tax return have been sent out for digital signature to a client that there was a send receipt with a date and time stamp to show its been sent to the client with details of what email address it was sent to. When sending out lots of requests over various different clients it is easy to forget if you have sent the signature requests out.

  17. From what I understand is common in a lot of firms is when a client leaves/dies/etc their client profile is archived in XPM and the data persists into infinity.

    Given the latest high profile data breaches is would be good if XPM had a Housekeeping module where firms could identify archived clients where the attached Personally Identifiable Information (In particular TFN, Bank account, phone/mobile and addresses) is no longer needed and permanently remove it in a structured process.

    A similar process may need to be created for the forms that we generate from XPM so they they are permanently removed…

  18. Primary issue:
    If the Accounting Firm wants to maintain control over a client's records and Xero integrations, then only one person can be the one that creates every client in HubDoc.

    Workaround proposed - and the related issue:
    - We were advised to create a dummy account for HubDoc to create the client files. This results in having to share a password - changing it frequently with staff changes.
    - This also is not feasible due to the 2-Factor Authorization requirements
    - This also creates a massive privacy breach risk for unauthorized access under PIPEDA (Canada) and PIPA (Alberta)

    Hi community, thanks for your support and sharing in the idea here. Diving into your comments, there are a few different ideas that we're picking up on within this one thread;

    1. ability to change the email address/contact of a sent pack
    2. ability to add additional documents to a sent pack, and
    3. the ability to edit metadata of a sent pack

    For the first, we'd like to better understand what is driving the need to change the email address?  is it down to a typo when entering it? or if its on a tax return, is it wrong on the client record etc?

    Although it's not possible to add additional documents to a pack right now, creating and sending a new document pack is essentially the same - Is there any reason this isn't suitable?

    Lastly, it'd be good to get more substance of how the ability to rename a pack…
