Ability to Select a Partial Main Residence Exemption Code (in the CGT Worksheet section)
Recently we had a client who sold their property, which triggered a CGT event. The property was initially their main residence, however this ceased once the property commenced being rented out. Therefore, a partial main residence exemption applies, however Xero Tax doesn't currently provide a code to acknowledge this scenario, once providing a main residence exemption code (see attachment). For enhanced clarity, it would arguably be useful if such a code was provided, so the gross capital gain can be apportioned between the amount subject to CGT & amount subject to the full MRE.

Unreconciled transactions showing by spent amounts only
It would be great to be able to filter unreconciled bank transactions in the bank rec so that it displays only spent amounts (and not received amounts).
We have several thousand bank transactions in each month (mostly received amounts) under this entity and it would be great to be able to filter by unreconciled spent amounts only so that these transactions could be matched and processed before we run a weekly report of payables so that this report is accurate.

Trial Balance with Similar Account Type Groups

atomate & XPM Integration
As good as ATOmate is, it doesn't actually integrate to Xero. Every day or two, we need to manually run a couple of reports to get the correct data into ATOmate. According to ATOmate, this is an issue with the Xero API. There is a related issue with fee from refund integration, it would be great if the API could be adjusted to allow additional data to flow directly.

Report Format - Allow for a 'fit to page' option when exporting to PDF
Adding additional formatting options for reports so that we could fit reports to one page when exporting to PDF. Too many financials currently export with one or two line on the last page. This creates messy looking financials that are too many pages.

Xero Tax Sole trader accounts - Ability to run per tracking category not for all information
We have set up tracking categories in xero - one for Land & property and one for Self employment. I want to be able to import the data in to their tax return. I normally generate on xero tax the xero sole trader accounts to then be able to import these into the tax return. However, when i do the sole trader accounts, it pull through all information - L&P & SE. I only want the SE bit so i can add this to the SE section on the tax return. Notes for Clients - XPM migrated from using the 'Folder' field to a new 'Tag' field within the client record’s Notes section, to unifying 'practice management tools'. What was the point of this? We could run a report of notes and filter with 'Folder'. But with the new 'tags' you can only filter by tags within a single client. This makes no sense and has removed significant functionality of the notes in XPM. Also, "existing folder-based notes will be automatically migrated" has not happened - existing notes have not been updated with tags.

Partner Hub - Ability to "group by" and "filter by" headers in Jobs widget
XPM shows your currently assigned jobs on the left, separated and grouped into the status of the job. This functionality is currently lost in the Partner Hub beta. It would be great to be able to "group by" status, in the jobs widget so provide some separation between different status jobs.
Would also be ideal to be able to "filter by" in a similar fashion, only showing jobs with a certain status for example.

Merged client access to signed returns upon email change
Add functionality to merge client accounts used to access previously signed returns (via portal.xero.com). This would ensure that when a client updates their email address, their full record of signed tax returns remains intact and accessible through a single login with the new email. This eliminates the need to log in with multiple accounts to view the complete history of signed returns.

Low Value Pool
Low Value Pool:
Xero has locked the entry of low value figures taken from Quantity Surveyors Report for rental properties in tax - item D6 and insists on creating low value pool schedule by entering the asset.
Per advice I received from specialist, I entered the figures and date from the beginning of low value pool e.g. 01/07/2019 with starting amount of $431.00. The following errors and issues come up:
1. The calculated amount was $162 which was claimed five years ago

Unit Trust relationships in XPM
It would be great if Xero Practice Manager could include a Unit Holder relationship type. At the moment, we can record shareholders, partners, and directors, but not unit holders -which makes it tricky when managing clients with unit trusts.
Adding Unit Holders would make it much easier to keep client relationship info complete and consistent without having to track it separately.

As Anchal and the Product team have conveyed this is being looked at currently (Balance Sheet addition to Partnership filings) and there will be updates as this progresses. The client address is not something we are looking at currently as it is not mandatory for HMRC or Companies House.

NZ Tax - hold tax return until after P1
NZ Tax 50/50 split to automatically prevent INC return from filing before P1 date. When selecting 50/50 split in the XPM Statements area, the INC return automatically drops all P1 payment details from the Income Tax payment schedule. It also suppresses the P1 tax notice from XPM Payments area.
Can it also stop the filing of the Income Tax return until after the P1 due date, or put a warning in the Audit Check that 50/50 has been selected and the filing date is not set.

At the moment, Xero Tax doesn’t automatically hold returns before P1, so timing still needs to be managed manually. Some practices choose to set a future Tax Return File Date in XPM, which delays filing until the date they’ve chosen, though we know this won’t suit every setup.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining support, and it’s now open for the wider community to join the conversation. If you’re open to it, adding a little more detail about your workflow could help others see where this makes a difference.
For anyone else following along, we’d love to hear your experiences too. The more perspectives we gather, the better we can understand the need. Looking forward to seeing the discussion grow.

Invoice - Restore previous single-screen upload and confirmation
In the previous version of Xero, uploading invoices was much faster and more efficient. When uploading an invoice image, we could immediately select whether it was a Sales Invoice or a Bill from the same screen. This saved time and simplified the workflow.
Another important feature in the old system was the visual indicator: once an image was uploaded and recorded as a Sales Invoice or a Bill, there was a clear mark showing that the document had already been categorized. This provided transparency and reduced the risk of duplicate entries.

Practice Manager - Stop auto correct for daylight savings in Timer
To stop the autocorrection for daylight saving in the Timer. I know only happens twice a year, but is very frustrating trying to enter time when the Timer keeps adding (or removing) an hour from the time entered. For example - when enter 09.00 in the Start time, jumps to 10.00; then when enter 10.00 in End time, both the Start and End time jump to 11.00.
