Practice Manager - Display Name for clients
It would be great if we could have the option of a display name as legal name for all entity types and not just individuals to help differentiate different entities with the same name. For example, we have a few trusts that share the same name but are completely separate entities belonging to different client groups and it can make it hard to tell those apart at a glance.

XPM - Create recurring costs / disbursements in a job
It would be great to be able to set a cost to automatically repeat within XPM. For example a subscription cost to be applied against an annual job on a monthly basis.

Workpapers - Add custom queries to custom workpapers
When creating custom queries, only the system default workpapers are available to add the query to. So when you are processing the workpapers, you need to manually move each query to its relevant workpaper, if you want it on a custom workpaper. Please add custom workpapers to the custom query creation list.
Alternatively - if queries were rolled forward from one year to the next, custom queries would only need to be moved in the first year.

Conditional formatting for client queries
Often the first question in a section is a yes/no - it would be good to hide the additional questions that result from the first answer, rather than needing to cover all bases with additional requests for the yes or no question. The shorter the initial list, the more likely the client will answer promptly and correctly.

XPM - Report audit trail
Audit trail to see who has created / amended / deleted custom reports. We had a situation where a report was deleted and unable to identify who had inadvertently done this.

Workpapers - Attach Document to Query
Ability to attach a document to a specific query on the accountant end.
Would save us from having to go to the workpaper in order to open the document that the query references. Instead could open directly from the query tab.8 votes -
XPM- Option to tick off multiple tasks
If we have the functionality of creating multiple tasks then it will be a good idea to have functionality of ticking off multiple tasks also. As this will save in energy and time.

Reporting - Seperate Expenses on Profit & Loss
Separate the INCOME TAX EXPENSE from the normal operating expenses in the Profit & Loss Statement. for example:
- Net Profit Before Tax
- INCOME TAX EXPENSE
- Net Profit After Tax

Hubdoc - Extract invoice reference or job reference
Can Hubdoc extract the invoice reference or job reference from an invoice and add that as a job tag. Would be very useful when the invoice is on-chargeable to a project, especially when there are multiple projects/jobs on the go. E.g. building industry type jobs.

feedback
I feel like a dedicated feedback board would be useful. As I don't feel there is currently an appropriate place to give feedback and notify support of things that are not working properly.
For example, I have the new GST returns to trial and there was an actual feedback box in Xero. Where i gave the feedback that i liked the new features but not the look. Now the feedback box is gone and I have just noticed that it tells you that there are unreconciled lines to code. But, they are for the next GST period. AU Tax - Return status
It would be great to have two additional tax return status values, to more efficiently support the typical workflows of busy tax agents.
Waiting on information - return cannot progress until the client provides missing info.
Rejected - return has failed review and requires adjustment before it can be lodged.

Workpapers - Customise the Queries portal to brand colours
The queries portal is nice, but its Xero Blue - we'd love to be able to put our own branding on things much further beyond our logo.

power query trial balance
Is there a way to create a sql report for trial balance or some other form of report that can be downloaded by excel power query? Eg a website link that could be accessed privately by sending and excel query? It gets very tedious repeatedly downloading trial balances again and again.

Hubdoc - Feature to group/organise tags
Hubdoc tag organization
It would be extremely useful to be able to group or nest tags within Hubdoc. When there are 20+ tags in use, managing the list of tags becomes unwieldy. The ability to organize the tags within groups would allow more streamlined document management. This is especially important for clients that have been using Hubdoc for several years and have organized thousands of documents using Hubdoc tags, but for whom the majority of documents are being stored for archival reasons. AU Tax - Schedule EFT reconciliation reports
Provide the ability to schedule requesting on a daily basis the EFT Reconciliation reports in XPM, currently being a manual request locked behind Business settings permissions.
Provide also the resulting reports in either a Custom Reports area or standard reports so admin staff without the Business Settings permissions can view the ATO EFT reconciliation reports, filtered by date and Tax Agent Number. Xero HQ - Ability to have multiple tax agents for STP lodgements
We use multiple tax agent numbers across our business yet when we lodge STP reports via the client's organisation, we can only use one tax agent number for all clients as Xero only allows for one tax agent number to be set in Xero HQ.
This is causing many issues, including staff and clients inadvertently updating tax agent details in the STP lodgment area on their own file, which is then updating the tax agent in HQ for all STP lodgements.

XPM - Hubspot Integration
Xero Practice Manager integrated nicely with Hubspot for about 10 years. Quitely it's been killed off in 2024 for some reason.
XPM is a major practice management platform, and Hubspot is a major CRM. I don't know why Xero would kill off the integration. But as a practice we need to have the ability to easily market/email etc to our client database. Without an integration in 2025 this is crazy.
The development work would be minimal considering it was already working, and even working with the single client record.
So please turn the integration back on for your partners.

XPM - Easy view of clients government gateway credentials.
Would it be possible to visibly see the Government Gateway currently set up for HMRC submissions for each individual client? At the moment I believe this isn't available, however it would be helpful to be able to view this information via Practice Manager
